USA Today reports that private pay has shrunk to historically low levels, which should send chills down Americans’ spines. After 17 months, we are finally seeing the anticipated results of Obama’s well-designed policies. And there are those who still think Obama isn’t intentionally trying to bankrupt the United States through the implementation of government programs, nationalizing of industries, bogus “reforms”–all under the guise of good will and fixing a “broken” system.

The excuse of “Bush created the problems, so we had to spend all this money and implement these reforms” is wearing thin. And, frankly, if that is true, then why the result of historically low private sector pay and record numbers of people dependent on the government? Shouldn’t the opposite have happened? Isn’t that what a stimulus is? Or, were those supposed stimulus and jobs bills vehicles to facilitate this exact result reported by USA Today?
From the USA Today article:
Paychecks from private business shrank to their smallest share of personal income in U.S. history during the first quarter of this year, a USA TODAY analysis of government data finds.
At the same time, government-provided benefits — from Social Security, unemployment insurance, food stamps and other programs — rose to a record high during the first three months of 2010.
I have written consistently about ripping the mask of the Left’s usage of good will to advance its socialistic agenda. Good will. Economic justice. Social justice. Environmental justice. Helping people. Patriotic. Neighborly. These are guilt-ridden code words for wealth redistribution so the American people will say OK, we need to do that. We are helping people. So we are good and America is “just.” And those who don’t agree, well, they are racist tea partiers. (Side note, when it’s convenient for those on the Left that slander the Right, they are also happy to take our money through charities–especially a Christian’s money.)
But where is the line that separates good will from an actual political agenda? When will people comprehend that the Obama agenda is clearly to make America into a welfare state where most people are reliant on not themselves, but the federal government for their paycheck, health insurance, student loans, corporate loans, housing, and food?

When will people realize that the foundation of a socialistic form of government deals with exactly the same issues the Obama administration is tackling and how long before it can be undone? True freedom and liberty cannot coexist with what Obama and the Democrats have done–and that is their goal.
No point in looking to the in-the-tank mainstream media to defend the American way of life; no matter how much abuse they take from the administration, they’re wedded to the “narrative.” So, courtesy of blogger “Republicae,” who succinctly outlines the foundation for the gradual implementation of a socialist nanny-state, take a look at this baker’s dozen:
- Strong, centralized government.
- Powerful Executive at the expense of Congress and the Judicial.
- Government controlled banking, credit and securities exchange.
- Government control over employment.
- Unemployment insurance, old age pensions.
- Universal medical care, food and housing programs.
- Access to unlimited government borrowing.
- A managed monetary system.
- Government control over foreign trade.
- Government control over natural energy sources, transportation and agricultural production.
- Government regulation of labor.
- Youth camps devoted to health discipline, community service and ideological teaching consistent with those of the authorities.
- Heavy progressive taxation.
The reality is, Obama and the Democrats have basically completed the largest tenets on this list—citing emergencies, “unsustainability,” and broken systems—all with the help of the MSM’s wind beneath their wings. We can sit here and hash out all day between the Left and the Right our differences, then throw in some Obama agitation, and you’ve got downright class warfare.
You have Americans wanting to take what is not rightfully theirs away from their neighbors. Or, as Saul Alinsky would write: rules for the have-nots on how to take it away (from the haves). But, those “haves” are your neighbors, the very people you see at the grocery store, the movies, and around town. And frankly, no one is bothered by the Hollywood money and athletes’ salaries (um, baseball?), because they still go see their movies and sporting events.

We are Americans and Americans do not covet one another’s possessions: we aspire to our own. This venom between the Left and the Right is toxic. People wishing to expropriate the fruits of others’ labors? There used to be a time when people would congratulate each other on their success. Where is that America? Are Americans really that bitter towards one another? Is this Obama’s America–a divided, bitter, government-dependent people? Is this our payback for America’s injustices? Is this what Change looks like?
Furthermore, we have public employee unions as seen in New Jersey this past weekend bullying rallying to take more taxpayer money and give it to the unions for their salaries and pensions. Those taxpayers you want the money from are your neighbors. I’m starting to think that most people do not even know the difference between the private sector and public sector and where the public sector money comes from.
I don’t know how John Smith, the Pilgrims, and the 13 colonies ever survived without government handouts and unions.
My exit questions:
- Are you better off than you were a year ago?
- To the MSM, if your conscience doesn’t already keep you awake at night, how will you explain to your children when they are grown up that you helped enable the bankrupting of America and mortgaged their futures by turning a blind eye to the impending third-world “transformation” of America and vaporizing the American dream for so many–all for justice, “good will” and White House media access?
- How do you expect your children to have the same opportunities you had and have the same standard of living you provide them now when they are adults?
Why is no one reporting on such a key figure in the Obama administration, who also had a hand in Iceland’s collapse, Budget Director Peter Orszag, who recently stated:
The U.S. budget deficit hit $1.4 trillion in 2009, just shy of 10 percent of gross domestic product, when the economy was in a deep recession. The gap could be even larger this year.
A bipartisan commission of U.S. lawmakers looking for ways to tackle the U.S. budget deficit met for the first time in late April and is due to make proposals by December 1.
He said U.S. politicians needed to come up with more ambitious proposals for ways to return the country’s public accounts to health.
Really?

If the job is not in the PrivateSector then it is NOT a real job
Building a bridge or repairing a road is important and essential to a healthy economy..
But gov'ment jobs in a bad economy only make things worse by delaying the inevitable…
Ideas that create jobs, that create products that people WANT to buy, create wealth..
The private sector CREATES the public sector DESTROYS…( the private sector).
Depressing article, Ms. Hiller, but very accurate. It has been in the making for 100 years. Woodrow Wilson and FDR are smiling in their graves. Something has to change or we are gone.
When the government runs everything, in order to get your 'Obama money', you'll have to do more than just wait in line and fill out some paperwork. Instead, you'll have to do some type of public service. Like pick cotton, maybe ?
Great read Susan! But let us not forget that progressivism has been with us for over a hundred years Republicans and Democrats. Washington is moving in the same direction, one just a little faster than the other. Our challenge as conservatives (70% of the country) is to force our representatives into austerity, and punish these political rats whenever they boast about bringing home the bacon (graft), and through several election cycles vanquishing liberalism for the sake of our country and children. This is an opportunity that I’ve been waiting for, for forty years and we finally have the liberals out in the open, and other than their brain dead sycophants, we should begin cleaning house starting in 11/10.
Excellent article, particularly the exit questions.Talk about biting the hand that feeds you. If there is one thing the left loves to do (along with over-playing the race card) is to demonize the evil businessman, even though the public sector would wither and die without the private sector. Agree with StanH that the pols have over-reached this time. The growth of government at the expense of private industry simply proves that the self serving politicians have contempt for the private citizenry, even if it means killing the goose that lays the golden egg.
” So, courtesy of blogger “Republicae,”
Republicae… Come forth and receive thy prize! Great bakers dozen summery in all its splendor. It does deserve applause… clap clap clap…/salute. (Your article was good too Miss Hiller) ….;)
it never ceases to amaze me that millions of fine, upstanding, hard working people who would never for a moment dream of stealing anything from their neighbor, regardless of how well off that neighbor may be, but will nonetheless vote for politicians almost solely because they've promised to do the stealing for them.

Today's BFO (Blinding Flash of the Obvious) report: Harvard has discovered that more government spending causes more unemployment!
http://hotair.com/archives/2010/05/27/study-finds...
The NIGHTMARE Ms. Hiller outlines, and that is being attempted by the criminal Obama Administration – is accurate and chilling and "Republicae" has it NAILED – EXCEPT for one detail – the SECOND AMENDMENT. Our LEGAL right to arm ourselves and defend ourselves CAN preclude this national nightmare from seeing completion.
When the "progressives/communists/liberals/Demoncrats" start discussing "gun control" – listen up – that's a BIG PART of the puzzle.
Disarming the "proletariate" was a key to Lenin's subjugation, same with Castro's Communist crimes and Hitler's RAPE of Germany. This government WILL NOT peacefully DISARM America – IT WILL NOT HAPPEN. It may, let repeat may, be our last defense against an oppressive government carrying out oppressive policies.
Remember – an armed populus is a populus with a say, be it in the form of the report of a finely crafted firearm – but a say none the less.
"Republicae" left out GUN CONTROL; i.e. disarming the people.
It's FUNDEMENTAL to converting a society from freedom and capitalism to a nanny state communism/socialism – fundemental.
Two things that were omitted — 1) Takeover of the educational system, so that people do not understand their past; 2) Limit or eliminate the church's freedom of speech and ability to teach, so that the public school narrative is the only one that remains.
Exactly – there are movements to discredit and eliminate home schooling and the left has fought to defund charter schools and the war against parochial schools for has been waged for decades…
Jamesb,
I will seriously fight to protect home schooling. My children do NOT belong to the government!
But what Russet said is right. They have been boosting to voice of public schools here they rule and marginalizing the rest of us "Religious Whack Jobs" so theirs is the only voice allowed in the public square. They are trying to rewrite the past so they can control our future…
So it's not really redistrubution of wealth, it's DISTRIBUTION of misery – guess the ideology is rather simple, if lazy people who don't care to do anything for themselves end up miserable, then surely it stands to reason we must all be miserable. I see the logic…mmm mmm mmm
God help us ALL -
Yeah, I got sick and tired of the "We have to become socialists because of the previous administration" garbage over a year ago.
The "Hey Tea Bagger, you need to work harder so I can take your money – you racist" infuriates me.
I have children who are going to be worse off than me when they reach my age if we don't stop the destruction of our country by this administration. My wife keeps telling me that I owe it to them to give voting a last chance. That's my plan. If something happens to negate or stop the elections in November I'm done talking.
Great link and speaking for you, me and everybody else with a lick of common sense – "DUH HARVARD!"
where did they get the "great reputation"?
"And frankly, no one is bothered by the Hollywood money and athletes’ salaries (um, baseball?), because they still go see their movies and sporting events."
But just think how much money could be re-distributed to the poor if salaries were capped in entertainment and sports. Heh!
I hear ya. Big face-palm for Harvard–d'oh!
I don't even own a gun, but I recognize that our country's unique gun culture enshrined in the Second Amendment is the one thing that will always keep the statists at bay. It's why I'm immediately distrustful of any politician trying to get me to support giving up that right.
And Obama wants to print another $28 BILLION to do a second bailout to school teachers.
This man is nuts.
Definitely agree with that, it all begins with the education. I attended a private school and my wife public and we have very different views on the government's responsibilities to the public. While I wasn't exposed to the indoctrination, she was and it made a huge difference in our outlook on life. Fortunately, I have changed her mind over the years, but it took awhile.
My oldest daughter is a public school elementary teacher and luckily due to my influence on her upbringing, she tells me all the time that it would blow your mind how much the little " Democrats " know how to manipulate the government teet to their advantage. Even at the 3rd and 4th grade level they are fully aware of what they are entitled to at our expense! God Bless her, I couldn't do it, I'd be in jail from day one. I have no tolerance for the dumb sh(@#$t anymore!
I definitely believe that November will be the turning point! If enough change is not made to make a difference it will be an interesting ride after that!

Me either. I buy guitars instead. I'm totally cognizant that my brothers-with-arms are protecting me almost as surely as if the were standing in my yard with an AR-15, saftey off, set to full-automatic (converted). Criminal O doesn't know WHO is armed and who IS NOT armed. That protects me.
Did you see the story of the 80 y.o. that shot an intruder DEAD, an intruder who took a shot at him? Hee hee. Trial averted.
Years ago I dated a georgeous girl who was born in New Iberia, Louisiana and was Coonass by birth and she is/was STUNNINGLY beautiful.
Dumped me like an armful of porcupines! lol…
It's not good when only 49% of taxpayers pay the taxes that support 100% of the population. Seems an inverted pyramid.
Yeah, you gotta watch them Creole girls, they're fiesty! And you are right, most of them are very beautiful. Alot of mulattos from that part of the country. All of Acadiana, as it's known, per capita probably has the most beautiful women in all of Louisiana.
My wife is French/Italian and I'm Cherokee/Welsh/German/French/Italian, a true Heinz 57. It definitely makes for some interesting conversations!

Concise summary of what is going on. Either we will get to the point where we are so uncomfortable with the idea of Marxism that we will refuse to accept the government loans and grants which are bribes for our acceptance of said Marxism, or the USA will collapse like a heap of cards and eventually, something will rise from the ashes. Right now, Americans are not fit to carry the water for those who put their very lives on the line for Liberty. We are too interested in being comfortable. We are so interested in being comfortable that we will not bear the responsibility for self-government.
More people on handouts? All according to the plan in 2010. I am always amazed at people I know who will state that "Oh, the govt is going to provide a tax credit for that" Whatever "that" might happen to be. They never seem to understand the trap of becoming dependent. I am just another extreme conservative anti-govt type in their view. Being family and friends they are at least polite enough not to call me a "wing-nut" or "teabagger". After awhile they will forget that it was taken from them in the first place and be no more than happy slaves.
This Article is now 8 hours old, and no commie trolls have shown up. Mikatollah, randy? Where are you guys?
They are still waiting for their talking points from Axelrod, plus their moms said they had to clean their rooms and take out the trash.
this entire administration is becoming indefensible even to the most diehard kool-aidaholics. the messiah & co. are so far left and so undeniably incompetent that it's taking all the fun out of trolling…

The way I see it our country is much like a large corporation with the public sector folks acting as infrastructure and operations and the private sector acting as R&D, production and sales.
While INF and OPS are necessary they do not contribute to profitability of our nation. They're a drain, a necessary expense incurred to provide support to the money making aspects of the company.
As a nation "company" we've allowed the INF and OPS divisions to become too big/powerful, which in turn severely impacts our nation's bottom line. No nation or company can survive this scenario. Bankruptcy or massive restructuring (shrink the INF and OPS divisions) are the only possible solutions.
