This has been an ongoing controversy and now that LiveAction has come out with another sting on Planned Parenthood, this is significant. The Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation states in its March 2011 Statement on Planned Parenthood:
Early screening through mammograms and education is critical to end the suffering from this disease: 98 percent of women treated for early stage breast cancer, before it spreads, are alive five years later. The widespread use of mammography and heightened public awareness of breast cancer both contribute to these favorable statistics.
And while Komen Affiliates provide funds to pay for screening, education and treatment programs in dozens of communities, in some areas, the only place that poor, uninsured or under-insured women can receive these services are through programs run by Planned Parenthood. [emphasis mine]
More information provided on the PP homepage shows they clearly refer out for these mammography services:

Ask your health care provider, health department, or staff at your local Planned Parenthood health center about where you can get a mammogram in your area.
Additionally, it appears that PP does provide breast exams only. However, the Komen memo links mammography, screenings, education, and treatment of breast cancer as their list of reasons it contributes to PP. It’s perpetuated all across the media without validation.
Now that LiveAction has proved that PP does NOT provide mammography services to its clients, what is the money being used for, because clearly is not for mammography screenings? Education, treatment? Are these questions we can expect our mainstream media propagandists to divulge in their articles? Or will the discovery stop with these citizen investigators and go unreported by the networks?
The Komen Foundation needs to come clean on specifically what those PP contributions are designated and why they really continue to support PP.

This is a really great story… I hadn't even thought to link the Komen funds to the Live Action video. I wonder how they will try and spin it. I feel bad for all those women who unknowingly support an organization like Komen that turns around and contributes their money to Planned Parenthood.
There's not enough profit in the mammogram business, the big money is in abortions …. and now is the time for PROFITS !

I walk every year with a friend to promote awareness of breast cancer. None of us were aware that our donations went partly to Planned Parenthood for any reason, much less that the reason stated was false. As my grandfather used to say "there's some 'splainin to do."
Women's rights activists should be livid about this but, of course, they won't be. They're all in on the same racket.
Hey, I'm all for giving them what they want; more abortion facilities in predominantly black, hispanic and indigent neighborhoods. It'll keep the jails less full and the welfare rolls down but the upside will be a 'whiter' and safer country. And as long as the left pays for it with their own money, even better. Now everyone can call me a racist but this is what the progressives want.

You see, logic and Progressivism are at odds with each other. They are trying to sell you on the idea that if you live a lesser lifestyle everyone will be better off. Just 'trust' them. This is a play on emotionalism. Liberals like to 'feel good' about themselves.
Conservatives intuitively know that if they do what's RIGHT- contribute to the community yet make yourself a tidy profit- everyone IS better off. Without the need for 'government guidance'. But they have to sell this fraud to achieve statist one world rule. With 80% of the people in fundamental disagreement with them.

I have now lost confidence in all charities. The lame excuse of availibility to the poor is laughable but sadly I'm not laughing. I am quite careful how I spend my charitable monies, so in the future I'll have a credo of -if the charity is successful it's corrupt- money truly does ruin everything and everybody! I feel like a rape victim,thanks Komen.
What will be a very disturbing revelation should this prove to be true, are the many community efforts to support Susan B. Komen via benefits, poker runs, etc.

Once upon a time (which means a very long time ago), lived in Wash., DC. When it would rain, you could sell tickets on the corner to watch how CRAZY the drivers would immediately become. I was like you. Then about 2 years ago I heard a vicious rumor that SGK gave money to PP. I made an inquery to Susan G Komen, and got a very nasty letter explaining that they always had given to PP for mammogram screen and would not stop. I now support Vera Bradley until I hear that they too have compromised their mission. Made me sad and I am sure that you feel the same way.

And funny too, since I love older folks in general, just not 95 yrs old with DL's pleeze!
Love how they drive with 1 foot on the gas, the other on the brake or pull out right in front of you or make a right turn from the far left hand lane. I call them Gray Panthers, myself …being that FL is the Panther state.

I kid you not. One of the main drags over by parents apt. The village dug t all up, rebuilt and paved it. The the phone company came, dug parts of it up to work. Then the water dept. came in and did the same. Then the gas company came in and did the same. And within a few months, guess what? Time to put out bids to have it repaved.
Our storm today …100 mph winds by the time it moved across the bay and hit Tampa …flipped containers at the port and a few more rigs driving on the interstate. I'm on the gulf where the wind was a calm 60 to 80 mph.
And it's starting to roll into NY. They're predicting rain, then sleet, then snow, then sleet, then rain. As we say, if you don't like the weather, stick around, it'll change in 5 minutes.
You could donate to your local university/research hospital for cancer research. And, of course, there's the most awesome St. Jude's.
As someone who has worked with charitable organizations in the past, this is a very serious matter. Misappropriation of funds and especially the use of designated funds for other purposes could cost Komen their charitable status and land someone in jail.
I donated to help find a cure for breast cancer and now my donation is funding ABORTIONS ????????????

I have contributed and done Race for the Cure. If they are contributing any portion of my contribution to PP…they will no longer get any support form me. I hope they see this as a problem for their charity.
The irony is the well established research on abortions causing breast cancer. The scientific theories make complete sense to me.

Just for my own info, I sent them an email asking if they support PP. No answer yet. I'll bet they're getting plenty of other inquiries besides me, too. Will come back if/when they respond and post their reply.
