I had an amazing opportunity this past summer: I was an intern at the Fox News Channel for the Hannity show. I worked with some of the greatest people in the TV industry. That being said, it was amazing the reactions I got from some when I said I was an intern there. The way some of them acted, you’d think I had gone to work for Satan.

Before I left to move to the Big Apple for my internship, I had to give my two weeks’ notice at work. So I had figured I had better tell my co-workers where I was going. Some people were thrilled for me to have this opportunity, and others, well, they did not quite have the same reaction of excitement. When I had told one lady I worked with that I would be interning at Fox News she gave me this ugly scowl, as if I had just killed her cat or something. She then proceeded to say, “Fox News, oh they are just the worst.” My response, “Well I’m sorry you feel that way”. She then said to me, “I don’t know if you agree with their views, but if you don’t, I hope you do not change and start believing the lies they air.” I just walked away.
There was no point in trying to defend myself because I knew that she would not listen, no matter what I said. I knew that she was a liberal, because she told me how her husband lost his job because of Ronald Reagan, and that Reagan destroyed the unions and put her family in dire straits during the ‘80s. She talked about President Reagan like he was the devil. I knew none of this was true…The President Reagan of my childhood was a great man who stood for individual liberty and freedom.
As my summer went on, I would meet people when I was out with friends, and sometimes they were fascinated by the fact that I worked at Fox News. They showed interest in what I did and whom I worked for. Other times, people looked at me like I had leprosy. I was appalled by some of their reactions. One guy I met said, “How could you work for them? They lie.” This became so typical that my response to these types of people became almost automatic. My response was, “As opposed to ABC, CBS, CNN, NBC, and MSNBC?” He just stared at me and said nothing. He didn’t expect that I guess! I think he thought I’d try to defend my beliefs and views so he could then attack me further, as liberals typically do, by saying I’m a war-monger, racist, selfish, and well some other choice terms they use to describe us.
When I left Fox and moved back to Pittsburgh to finish my last semester at California University of Pennsylvania, I would go to a local Barnes & Noble a lot to work on papers for class and have a cup of coffee. As I was sitting there minding my own business (with headphones on), I had a lady come up to me who saw a sticker on the back of my laptop which said, “America’s Talking: Foxnews.com” She stopped and stared… Immediately, I thought oh no…here we go again! I took my headphones off…
And she said, “Fox News…I hate them!”

I responded, “Well that’s nice.” Again, it obviously was not what she wanted to hear from me at all. I continued to work on my research paper as she gave me the stare of death because of a sticker on the back of my laptop. Seriously?!?!? These people get this upset over a sticker! She eventually walked away, and continued to mumble under her breath how terrible I was for having the sticker of the “Devil News Channel” on the back of my laptop. It has gotten to the point where I just laugh at these people as they get bent out of shape over Fox News. So why do they actually hate Fox News? Maybe it’s because Fox actually does investigative journalism, unlike the MSNBC news guys. Or better yet, maybe it’s because they get really good ratings and the networks they watch don’t. No, it can’t be that!
Wait – I think I got it! It’s because Fox is the only news channel to hold the politicians and elites in D.C. accountable! That has to be the reason right?

Very good article. I have had the same thing happen to me when I tell people that I watch Fox News. I just laugh at them and walk away.
"Wait – I think I got it! It’s because Fox is the only news channel to hold the politicians and elites in D.C. accountable! That has to be the reason right?"
You hit the nail on the head with that statment!! I like Hannity but I can't stand when he does everything possible to get the person to say what he wants them to say, Other then that I like his new format..
"Wait – I think I got it! It’s because Fox is the only news channel to hold the politicians and elites in D.C. accountable! That has to be the reason right?"
Perhaps. Or perhaps it's because Fox is not anti-American.
Hang in there, Miss Hershfield. Journalism needs more voices like yours, but you have chosen a tough row to hoe.
as a vocal supportor of FOX i hear this on rare occasions (i don't hang around libs) and i love it when it happens as it gives me an opportunity to shread them and their illegal usurper. i haven't had to beat one yet but, i know some day it will come.
In a round about way that is right….most of these people you are referring to never watch FOX, but they are told by the other networks you mentioned that FOX is bad…and where does ABC, CBS, CNN, NBC, and MSNBC get their information…you got it, the politicians and elites in D.C… If people would just judge for themselves instead of accepting what liberals in an ideological fog say as gospel they would be far better off, and maybe could even speak with some intelligence!
Recently I answered a Poll on FaceBook that asked "Is Fox News Ruining America". So I answered it "NO". Suddenly I had people making comments on my site that I was amazed at. One person whom I have not seen in 17 years made a comment that I believed to be very rude. Her comment to me was "Please tell me Fox News is not where you turn to get the News, I know you are smarter than that." When I pointed out that her comment was judgemental she said that she was actually saying that she thought I was smart and that she couldn't believe I wouldn't find her comment a compliment. Where do people get their ideas that if you are not drooling over Olbermann that you are somehow not an intellectual. Those types of statements are not compliments and they always show how closed minded those people are.
When people don't want to hear the truth, nothing you can say will change their minds. Your FOX news sticker was akin to lifting up the log and watching all of the bugs run for their hole. Darkens hates light.
I worked there for two years. When I did get flak from some people, I told them that my division (radio) was absolutely lousy with flaming liberals. Still is. I was one of four actual conservatives in a department of around 20; I think by now that number's down to two right-leaning people.

All they have to do is look at the ratings. LOL
Recent ratings are posted on Drudge…
How dare you work for a capitalist corporation like Fox News. Change your ways and repent to the fascist, marxist, secular, elitist Lame Street Media. Cast out that demon that resides in you, Repent I say Repent and ask Harry Reid to forgive your sins, so that he might pass out forgiveness from the chosen one.
that goes for Rush, Hannity, Beck and other conservatives on the radio as well. Rarely do you have any of them acutally listen or watch anything that might disagree with their delicate sensibilities. Their god given right to not be offended might be broached. Besides, they might actually see themselves in the mirror and not like what they see
I love it when people try to give me grief about my views or what I watch or listen to. I tell them that I read, watch and listen to all media and know more about the facts than they do and am willing to debate them on any point they wish. It's delicious to watch them fade away … they are so used to people backing down
Great article! We need more journalist like you that can relay the facts and let us judge whether it is right or left (wrong). Fox is the only NEWS program that speaks the truth. Thank you, and I hope to read more articles from you soon.
Liberalism is a mental disorder. You would have better luck trying to persuade a rabid dog not to bite you than to engage these people. They don't even realize that self identified conservatives are double the number of self identified liberals and that they are the out-of-mainstream freaks, not you. As if FOX's ratings wasn't evidence enough of that already.
Same thing happened to me in college when my friend and I took a class with a liberal professor and liberal students. Any time I mentioned anything of substance or Fox News, it was like the whole class was going to have a collective heart attack (perhaps Breitbart should start BigIvoryTower). I like your approach, however. These people have no right to hear me defend my views, I don't have the time to talk to ignorance.
I guess it's always someone else who watches Fox News and pushes the ratings so high. Reality is the mindless robots are not the ones watching Fox News, but those reading or watching abcmsnbcnytimeswashingtonpost.com. I may not always agree with the opinions on Fox News, but at least I get to think about what I think.
Good article. As others have already stated, the geniuses that say those things about Fox News have never REALLY watched the channel. They're merely regurgitating the same "open-minded" B.S. that liberals say in the MSM and in real life. The ones that actually DO know the truth, speak that way because they know that the more people that pay attention to conservatives, the more they will snap out of their liberal brainwashing.
The first line of that article:
"Fox News will finish 2009 as the top-rated cable news network, a perch it has enjoyed for eight years running."
I think I can hear Olbermann shrieking =)
Actually we in Pittsburgh love Fox News, I stopped listening to " I am smarter than everyone drivel from CNN, NBC and ABC". I think the Fox viewership is only building up as people are sick and scared of the empty liberal ethos and pervasive corruption they see all around. This was evident in the city folk responding to the G20 here recently.
Mental derangement is at least predictable. Ask liberals if MSNBC or NPR is biased and you'll get a confused look.
Great article! I am a regular on Fox. I find it the only place to get news that is not controlled by this administration. MSNBC just makes me angry with their slobbering all over this administration and never holding them accountable for anything.
People attack and/or mock what they are incapable of understanding and "fair and balanced" journalism is something most liberals don't understand. In their tunnel-visioned world there is only one correct answer to every question and only one side to every issue and those who don't agree with their lock-step ideology must be demonized and scorned. This is the same mentality that causes liberals who have never met or spoken to Sarah Palin to attack her based on nothing more than their own pre-conceived prejudices or the pre-conceived prejudices of others who dislike her. If this weren't true, Charlie Gibson wouldn't have looked down his nose at Mrs. Palin during their interview and Katie Couric wouldn't have asked her what she reads. Sarah Palin was treated differently than her male counterparts and few in the liberal media cried "foul" because, in their view, she was treated the way all card-carrying pro-life conservatives should be treated. It doesn't make sense – and isn't particularly intelligent – to berate a news channel they don't watch, but that's what liberals do.
You don't hang out with libs? I've started that policy myself. Libs are mean, indecent, foul-mouthed, vicious, unjust..and utterly self-righteous about it. You will improve your life tremendously if you avoid them, ignore them and find a better class of friend. But keep an eye on them otherwise, to keep from being stabbed in the back.
The old adage people would rather believe a lie than the truth is at work here. Thanks for the great article, very insightful. Some how I see the Satan more at ease sitting across the table from Chris Matthews than from Sean Hannity. Now that would be an interesting interview. My question would Chris get that same tingle up his leg?
"they might actually see themselves in the mirror and not like what they see" ….are you admitting that ABC, CBS, CNN, NBC, and MSNBC are the mirrors of deceit? It is my opinion, it is because they do watch and research the liberal media that they are so determined to present both sides of the issue…Fair and Balanced…remember!
I broke the LSM habit over a decade ago, I quit reading the commie rags that pass as newspapers in my town, and pull my content off the web. I don't seem to have suffered for it. I am glad to have the little islands of sanity that have sprung up over the last decade or so. This is the way we will take back our country, by getting the truth out when the LSM won't cover it.
There is no way to stop it, (or us) now!
"The President Reagan of my childhood was a great man who stood for individual liberty and freedom."
Me too babe. I would have funded the Contras myself.
Ex-Pittsburgher here too. Well if my pen name (pen name? laughing at self) didn't give it away.
You have to an off the charts "toetag" liberal, purposefully blind, and totally out to lunch to think and believe that FOX is a right-wing conservative network. They are not, they are just faithful their journalistic creed : "We Report, YOU SHOULD BE AN EDUCATED ADULT, You Decide"…..
They don't go out of their way to ignore stories that may not fit a right of center world-view. Report it no matter who goes down. If a Republican is corrupt, I want that Rep out, not given cover …That should be the goal of all media outlets, but much to the detriment of all (US), that has not been the case for two generations or more.
I love Sean because he's an unapologetic conservative pit bull.
That is beautifully said Jenna…..I thought of it but you put it eloquently into words…
When I interned at FOX, people in Times Square ripped up the fliers I was passing out and threw them at me. Traumatic then, but hilarious when looking back. As you know, New Yorkers are submerged in an insane ideological bubble. Excellent piece!
I never agreed with or liked Alan but the show has lost "something" since he left… Bring in some other lib for Sean to hammer…There are a few that would be a good fit….Stephanie Miller has a big lib mouth but can be quite funny and enteraining…A very different type then say Rachael Madcow…
After years of indoctrination into the nanny state this is what you get. Many people no longer want the whole story, just the part where the govt makes it all better for them. Although Fox may be the minority in news media, they speak to a far larger crowd than what liberals might believe. Network news is on it's death bed because people have lost faith. They expect to see a reporting of the NEWS, and not just a well censored, candy coated liberal version of it. Anyone who spends five minutes online knows that ABC, CBS, CNN, NBC, and MSNBC are only giving part of the story and often ignoring major news altogether in favor of the latest celebrity scandal.
Shendy, if you had taken an internship with the Devil, …these same people would have applauded your "broadening" of your religious perspectives.
And your most salient points here…that people have a kneejerk, reflex, Pavlovian response to the very mention of Fox News, tells us all we need to know. It is a cultlike response, because they live in a cultlike brainwashed alternative reality.
If Fox doesn't accept the "cult message", then Fox is the "enemy".
I have a small personal quirk with the term "liberal", however. There is nothing "liberal" about placing a stranglehold on principled dissent. "Liberals" are people who are willing to engage in discourse…and even compromise…or, heaven forbid…change…their opinion in light of new and better facts.
Leftists, on the other hand…are a protest cult. They brook absolutely no dissent, principled or otherwise. Anyone who does not accept the "message" on blind faith, is an automatic "enemy".
There are almost no liberals around any longer. The leftists ate them. Classic liberals have had to adopt a new continental drift to the right…or be swallowed whole by the virulent disease of leftism.
Leftists want to not only own your hearts and minds, they want to own the facts. They want to shapeshift the truth.
And Fox News (and Andrew's "Big" blogs, PJM, Glenn Reynolds, etc) are "in the way". Therefore, they are "enemies".
Shendly, remember that people are entitled to their own opinions, but they are not entitled to their own facts…and they do not have a right to shapeshift the truth. If we are to self-govern this land of ours, we need to find a way to keep the truth and the facts flowing freely to our countrymen…because we cannot self-govern based upon a pile of lies.
What you have done, Shendly…is work to keep the truth and facts flowing…and that's something to be proud of, don't ever forget it. Thanks and thank you for your article.
Fox News, we report, you decide (if you get mad.)
Very sober and to the point….I like the Liberal/Leftist distinction but the quip "you're entitled to your opinion but not to your own facts"…Now that's off the charts poignant…I'm sending your comment to MSLSD so you can be the "Wooorrrstt Perrsssonn Innn theeee Worrrld"… You don't mind, do ya?
As much as people "say" they don't like Fox or even watch Fox news…when something big happens that's where they turn because they know they will get more information and uncensored information. People tend to flock where their opinions are but when it counts they go where they can find out the truth in a hurry…and that's Fox news.
Nice article.
HPD, thanks. Don't mind in the least…if I write it…it's out there for public consumption. I have a longer version of this concept written previously as a comment to a Roger Kimball article at PJM, when Christopher Buckley "drifted" off the reservation. If you would like, I will send you a copy…although you can probably google cfbleachers and find it and other iterations of it there.
It's amusing how apoplectic leftwing regressives get over FOX news.
Shendy…my profuse apologies for the typos in your name in my prior comment. For some reason I have a need to give you an extra letter. Sorry. Once again, very nice job on the article and thanks for being a front line warrior for the truth.
Well written, Shendy. I would not take those scowls and words of disapproval from the progressive libtards too seriously. They do not have the intelligence or common sense required for objective debate. The libtards will try to intimidate, marginalize and attack anyone who does not share their sick vision. Speak with boldness and hold to the truth- regardless of your endeavors.
My circle of friends has contracted radically in the past 20 years, since I began to express my true feelings. "Oh you can't possibly believe that!" is the tenor of the comments I get from former friends. They embrace their '60s 'beliefs' so uncritically that it's sad. I say sad because those hoary old platitudes rattle around in their skulls without any challenge or re-examination. They're not stupid; just lazy, maybe, or scared they'll find their old notions are broken if they take them out into the light.
Me, I'm feeling just fine. If we'd kill Obamacare, leave the savages in their Cuban cages and cut it out with all that spending, we'd be on our way to a resurgent America.
A friend of mine thinks I am full of it because (he thinks) I get all my news from "Faux News".
He gets his from Howard Stern.
Seriously!
I wonder which one of us is truly deluded here…
Some people have "issues". Anyone who gets perturbed over a simple sticker needs some serious help. I've usually found that those types tend to be rather bitter and cynical people that have issues with things like smiling. Hence the scrunchy face she graciously gave the author.
I think at heart this people are whiners for the most part. I guess it's easier to blame someone else for your own problems than it is to deal with them yourself. Like the woman whining about Reagan. What the heck did Reagan have to do with someone working for Fox? Even if the woman hated Reagan to death (which immediately puts her on my insane list but I digress) she should have at least had enough decorum to congratulate the new Fox intern. Instead the woman went on to give a peevish tirade. Despicable behavior really.
I just moved out of Pgh three weeks ago. That city could fall down around their ears, and they would STILL never vote Conservatives into city government.
And thank you…I'll get it off the net…I like your style…I usually don't read long comments, but glad I committed to yours….
LOL…I'm anything but pithy….it's a character flaw…
I think Reuters is also "State Run and Controlled"…But what do I know, I'm not a "Libertrian"….
well, being pro-american is just not their style.
In a similar situation recently, I smiled and asked the Libtard what she'd seen on FoxNews that she hadn't liked. The reply was that she didn't watch FoxNews. Still smiling, I asked the name of the person who had given her her opinion so WE could have an intelligent discussion. I still get a tingle down my leg from the look I got before she flounced off.
I want to compliment most all the "commenters" posting here…..".Everyone has a take and didn't suck"…to quote Jim Rome…I also like that the Leftist community (HufPo), who can't put an intelligent thought together, has yet to discover this site…or maybe they know better then to start…..
We are not getting the Conservative message out there. It is just as much a failure on our part. Educating the public is so necessary. Knowledge is power. If we want the power, we have to make sure the man and woman on the street, understands just what the liberal agenda is all about. Most voters can't tell you what either side believes. It is so disheartening when you talk to people and realize just how dumb about politics the average person is. No wonder we get some of the representatives we do. Our country is perishing because of lack of knowledge.
"If a Republican is corrupt…"
…Fox reports on them by "accidentally" putting a "D" by their name.
I totally agree. My husband and I have this conversation every time we watch Hannity. It's not that we liked Colmes, but Hannity needs someone to spar with. It isn't interesting to listen to him talk in an echo chamber.
It is amazing how "open to diversity" the people that hate Fox News are. Yeah, right. All true progressives have a monolithic, elitist view of the world and you are right that had you stood and argued the truth with any of them you would still be there arguing. A real shame.
You were very mature not to toss water on her.
They melt, you know.
FOX appears far right to libtards because the other networks refuse to do their job properly, it's as simple as that. The longer they slouch and slobber over the exalted One, the farther right FOX appears even when it has a good mix of presenters, liberal, conservative and libertarian. There's just no reasoning with liberals on this, they cannot discern news from opinion segments by talking heads on any network . They are reality challenged and clearly lack the consciousness to think for themselves – especially when Jon Stuart (a comedian) is praised by liberals as their best and most trusted source for news.
I watch Fox exclusively, but even they do not always get the facts. I can't tell if it's intentional showing bias or just not having done their homework. One small example was their report on Palin's OBiden flack. Fox News neglected to report that Gov Palin discusses the whole thing in her book. Instead Fox News treated the Schmidt comments as if they were some kind of negative revelation about Gov Palin. I guess the simple point is we need to hold Fox News to the fire as well. Don't automatically accept that whatever your told by Fox is true, even if they are infinitely better than all the other networks.
The qualifying word was "MOST" of the commentors…but it essentially correct… should have read" Liberals are confused and it's the Leftists that are dangerous douchbags….." Please make a note of it….
Nice.
Maybe someone at FNC will see this and revamp the new and not improved Hannity just for us…I have not watched Sean's new show since the week after Colmes departed…
I watched stephanopoulos run a panel with three other far, and I mean far left types, himself and george will and laura ingraham..that was like 4 to 2, left vs. right. I have never seen a fox panel that was not completely balanced with left and right. fair and balanced. period.
They hate Fox News for the same reasons vampires hate sharp wooden sticks.
What flavor of KOOL-AID did you say you were drinkin'?
you could not be more correct. Many of their people at Fox were quite liberal before they came such as shep and greta, others are certainly more independent and libertarian types like stossel and o'reilly. Hannity is too much of cheerleader for my taste but, in fact, Fox is a perfect outlet for an independent or a teapartier or non affiliated. Sorry, but it has been longer than two generations that the Media has been sold out, more like fifty years.
sorry dave, I have to agree with the drifter…if you watch Reuters' use of language, you might note that it is just as left wing biased and based on left wing assumptions as the others…wish it were not so…sometimes as bad as BBC
Google–though obviously not Fox approved–is your friend for this, and the many other Fox tricks and deceits large and small. That is, if reality means anything to you.
Wow, the bar is really low here for "intelligent thought."
Let me try–
Everyone else but me is an ignorant douchebag!
If you disagree I'll qualify it by essentially saying the same slur again!
Douchebag! I really like it here!
I overheard a coworker in the hallway outside my office make a derogatory comment about "those people who watch Fox News and listen to talk radio." I couldn't resist; I stuck my head into the hallway and said, "You mean like me?" I figured he should have an actual face to put with bigoted comments.
Some people do not want to hear the truth. Those people listen to CNN,ABC, CBS, MSNBC.
most people who hate fox news have the same failings as most bigots, laziness its very simple most times if you only give someone or in this case some network.the opportunity they will give you a valid reason to dislike them in the case of fox some people are just to narrow minded and hearing both sides causes a mental overload.
Honestly Guestin', do you really think Conservatives are so stupid that we rely on any one source for news? Most all of us were like you, libs in our early years. But now that we have thrown off the liberal shakles, we gravitate toward news sources that promote American Values: a strong military, free markets, Golden Rule capitalism, pro life, right to work, drill baby drill, and the list goes on. I rarely see any of these values promoted on MSNBC, CNN, NBC, etc. But they are on FOX. So, to me the choice is a simple one…Plus I like the babes…
I don't need to "do the Google" to see examples of FNC blunders and tricks…most all, likely initiated by some lib in the control room..Remember, "you are entitled to your own opinion, but not your own facts".
I am an academic and used to be surprised at the world view of liberals. They think that anyone who does not have the same ideological slant and beliefs that they have are idiots. I also hear the "… you don't get your news from Fox News do you?" talking point. What I have not heard are principled arguments to support the liberal position. Lots of name calling, denigration of character, and questioning of anyones' intelligence who dares to stray from the plantation. So much for tolerance, openness, and diversity. Everything is about them and them alone. My view of liberals can be summed up in a comment that Buzz Lightyear made to Woody, "You are a sad, strange little man, and you have my pity."
You should understand that liberal/socialist/progressives are NOT as bright or as open as they believe themselves to be. They like to be considered as such, but they lack the memory, intellectual power, rational ability to quantify and logical talent. This handicap is why they seldom, if ever, evince abilty at actual, hands-on craftsmanship, survival skills, manual labor, pride in accomplishment, or calculation of cause and effect. They keep looking for help from Someone, whether it is a Leader, or a representative of theat Leader.
It would be so entertaining to have Keith Olberman there, with his mike shut off, and when ever Sean needed to make a point he'd smack Olberman with a rolled up news paper. Ok, so it wouldn't be good news, but it would be GREAT TV.
That would be the ONLY way for Oberman to get better ratings….How 'bout an ax handle?
I get the same reaction when I tell people that I voted for George Bush. They cannot believe that anyone with a modicum of intelligence could do such a thing. The sad thing is that many of these people consider themselves intelligent although they blindly accept the platitudes that they are given on network news. It never occurs to them that they should examine opposing points of view with an open mind. Their lack of critical thinking doesn't serve them or the democracy that they claim to value.
The comments that people make about Fox lead me to ask"Do you watch Fox"?I always get a NO.Most of them don't have cable or satellite, some will say they don't have a TV! Yet,they all hate FOX.This is the insane mentality,of the Bay Area.
Wow, there's just "libs" everywhere, isn't there–even in the control room of Fox news (of course, he's the devious one, making "mistakes" on purpose–no paranoia there)… by the way, not everyone who finds Fox news deceptive and pandering is a liberal.
And I'm not so sure a proper news site is supposed to "promote" particular values, especially if said promoting results in skewed news coverage–say, avoiding a story that's true but makes someone in the military look bad, or provides the side of the story that says maybe "drill baby drill" isn't the answer some pandering/rabble-rousing politicians are trying to make it out to be. (And are using it as a distracting from possible real answers.) And the list goes on.
Though it's nice to hear that one of the qualifications for a news anchor is that she be a "babe"… yeah,. no sensationalistic Jerry Springer mentality at Fox… now there's a value to promote.
You realize your whole comment is filled with what you accuse liberals of doing.
And a whole lot of namecalling here on a site that decries (supposedly) namecalling and denigration of character, etc…
I consider all liberals/democrats unstable. Most of them belong in a mental instituion. Seriously. I would never try to argue with one. They are so narrow minded that they would not know it if facts slapped them in the face. If a million people witnessed Obama pissing on the sidewalk in Times Square and he denied it, who would the liberals believe, one million people of Obama. So my advise is to ignore these loons. They are not worth the effort.
No, you are incorrect. I am reporting on what liberals have said to me, and have said to others in my presence. I am completely at ease in having discussions with them but have never called them names and have always been respectful of their positions. The same cannot be said for them. They cut me off and while have never to my face engaged in name calling, they routinely call other people names, including students, who happen to differ with their views. So, if I understand you correctly, you are faulting me for repeating their open disrespect of me and others.
Whew–thank goodness for echo chambers like this so we can all "win" imaginary arguments with stereotypes of liberals, and don't have to accept challenges to our deep-seated undeniable "logic"–a logic so strong and irrefutable even facts can't penetrate.
Heh. Where can I get some Fox News stickers. Never want to miss an opportunity to piss off a liberal!
When Libtards ask why I changed my views to Conservative, I tell them that Conservative women are much more attractive. Armpit hair on women is just downright ugly. Drives them nuts.
Many liberals wear their political bigotry on their sleeves, just like Wahhabis wear their religious bigotry on their dishdashas or Klansmen wore their racial bigotry on their sheets. They're small parochial people who believe their devotion to their particular ideology makes them superior to others, which they desperately need to believe.
Irony alert
people who react that way when you told them where you were interning are probably not worth talking with about much of anything.
I really hope someday you can bring yourself stop drinking the Leftist Kool-Aid before it's too late…Like I explained to you previously, They agree with me, so, I tend to tune them in and voices like yours I tune OUT…Dig? I'm outta here ….Gotta feed my horse, Foxey…Of course…!!
It's because people have a tendency to not have the time or inclination to Dig For The Truth ! They consider the skum that comes to the top to be the truth. This country is so celebrity-obsessed that people automatically take what comes out of their favorite movie star's mouth as fact. Well, if George Clooney says it it must be true … ahhh……… he's so handsome and all… Oh, and that "Oprah", She wouldn't lie to me ! The American public had s been so dumbed-down and fried crisp by "hot celebrities" they'll believe anything that comes out of a Brad Pitt mouth.
Put up or shut up. Please provide factual, logical and documented arguments that "libruls" are something more than the emotional and intellectial cripples they accuse others of being. Please provide documentation of Barack Obama's academic career. Please indicate why federal legislation should be formulated behind closed doors. Please indicate which Marxist/Socialist/Progressive run country has increased national prosperity AFTER shooting all the capitalists. Please explain why 70 plus doctors have defected from Cuba, if Castro's health care, which liberals are frantically trying to emulate, is so successful. For that matter, explain why there was a Berlin Wall if Obama's "equality" policies should be as attractive as Honecker's were.
Hmmm, wow, this isn't even a challenge…using YOUR OWN WORDS…
"I am completely at ease in having discussions with them
but have never called them names and have always been
respectful of their positions."
Then a mere few moments later…
'My view of liberals can be summed up
in a comment that Buzz Lightyear made to Woody,
"You are a sad, strange little man, and you have my pity."'
Yeah, lot of tolerance and respect there. Is this the part where you say, "I'm just giving them a taste of their own medicine" to excuse your denigration of "sad little men" worthy of your pity?
Ok, so I am Australian. Big Deal eh? Well I was in the USA during July. Just in time for the ballyhoo over that little creep Michael Jackson (btw I was more disgusted over the way he treated his children than anything else). As soon as we arrived in Los Angeles CNN was full of Jackson, Jackson, Jackson…. at the same time there were two other stories that should have had more prominence than stupid Jackson. One of them is the continuing crisis in Iran. The other was the situation in Honduras. Now I was in Conneticutt and of course the TVs were tuned to CNN. I noticed that CNN had a very partisan reporter in the Honduras, and I was totally disgusted over the way he was reporting the situation over there…. this reporter might as well have been a member of the Chavez team the way he was carrying on. Eventually, at that hotel where I was staying, some of the other guests had a real gut full of CNN…. and they took action. The TV in the lounge area was then tuned to FOX….. Oh what a relief.
Now it happens that a good friend of ours, an Australian, had been caught by this anti-FOX bug. I just ignored his comments because I just felt that he had no real idea about the truth of the matter…. that the others are not reporting the real news, only their version of the truth…. which is not journalism.
Hi Shendy, Love Pgh and Love FoxNews–all of them but espcially Glenn Beck. He's the devil incarnate and the stings lots of libs. Frankly, without "We report, you decide" this country would be in much worse trouble.
Well, as long as you admit to the echo chamber, and can't refute any of the actual facts presented–(it's easier to just say KOOL-AID, isn't it! No thought process involved)– have fun.
Uh, Nitro, I think you read what asymmetrical wrote, instead of what (he or she) intended to convey: I believe the "them" in the comment, "Rarely do you have any of them actually listen or watch…" referred to liberals who demonize the conservative commentators without actually listening to or watching their shows — in short, they're regurgitating allegations they've heard or seen elsewhere.
Thank God for FOX News. My mother in law used to watch the local news at 6 pm and during one of my visits to New Orleans I switched the news to the Fox News Channel. She loved it. That is all she watches now and she tells me that she has learned so much from them. On my last visit, she told me that she is now hooked to Glenn. She is 90 years old. Shendy, be proud to have worked for Fox News and good luck in your future.
Let's be fair–even if somebody wanted to go through that bizarre smorgasbord checklist of weird accusations there, just admit this up front…
…any documentation refuting your view will be just denigrated because it's source isn't Fox news, or, as in most cases, totally ignored.
This is on top of the fact all that mumbo-jumbo is either built on false premises, or are just nonsensical. Just to take one as example…
"Please explain why 70 plus doctors have defected from Cuba, if Castro's health care, which liberals are frantically trying to emulate, is so successful."
First of all, you have to buy the premise that liberals are "frantically trying to emulate" Castro's health care, which is at the very least (and this is being kind) debatable–but EVEN IF THIS WERE TRUE, 70 doctors defecting from Cuba does not automatically "win" any argument. And, more importantly, it doesn't change the facts that…
1) Currently the U.S. has a higher infant mortality rate than most of the world's industrialized nations.
2) The USA's life expectancy lags 42nd in the world, after most rich nations, lagging last of the G5 (Japan, France, Germany, UK, USA) and just after Chile (35th) and Cuba (37th).
3) The USA's life expectancy is ranked 50th in the world after the European Union (40th).
4) The World Health Organization (WHO), in 2000, ranked the U.S. health care system as the highest in cost, first in responsiveness, 37th in overall performance, and 72nd by overall level of health (among 191 member nations included in the study).
5) A 2008 report by the Commonwealth Fund ranked the United States last in the quality of health care among the 19 compared countries.
So, America does not have the best health care in the world–despite Rush's rich man comment–far from it– and the dems are at least trying to do something. You might not like what they're trying to do, but it's better than what The Party Of No is offering, which is namecalling and misdirection. (It's Marxist! It's Socialist! Th' gubberment is taking over everything–but don't take away my socialist programs like Medicare and roads and the military, etc.)
"Unstable" is letting a problem fester, and get worse. If you offer nothing but namecalling, you can't expect to be taken seriously on issues when you offer no other real alternatives (and by real I mean actual, not just pandering nice words with no action behind them)…
The question to ask is whether they actually ever watch Fox News, especially during the day. In my experience, most of the people who hate Fox News never actually watch it. They've been told to hate it by other liberals who tell them how awful it is. Liberals hate a lot of things that they know little or nothing about.
I didn't see any of the "facts" you think you've presented, but if you do have "facts" to support your assertion, you should be able to collect the — I don't recall offhand whether it's $10,000 or $25,000, but either is a nice piece of change — that radio show host & Libertarian (NOT conservative) Neal Boortz has had up for about ten years, as a standing payoff to anyone who can establish a Fox News – news show (not commentary shows, news) that presented biased or false news reports. Boortz is out of Atlanta, Georgia. Have fun spending the loot your "facts" can put in your pocket. Sarc/off
Excellent story, and so true… I drive a mobile television truck, tractor trailer. We broadcast for Fox, ESPN, Comcast..
Just the fact that I say I work in Television and sometimes for Fox I get a passel of shit from people who are pissed that I have such a great job, and it gets worse when you mention that you work with or for Fox… so true…
Oh yeah, and because you are pretty these people get more pissed and think that they can some how manipulate you…
You're right, and liberal Fox figure Juan Williams is exhibit "A" — he's still liberal, but he's now usually fair and clearly makes a point of being as objective as possible, compared to 10 or 13 years ago when he started with Fox as "cut from the liberal mold" predictability. That's growth that isn't available from inside an "echo chamber," which is pretty much what the other (all liberal all the time) media outlets amount to.
Everything on Fox is better than the drivel on MSNBC. The fact that Chris Matthews (Mr. Tingle) still has a show amazes me. No talent, limited intellect and poor viewership – I guess that's the MSNBC formula.
Neal Boortz–you mean the author of "The Terrible Truth About Liberals"?
Yeah, I'm sure there's an unbiased source for/against Fox news coverage. Is he the one who gets to decide if Fox presented a "false news report?" I assume the habit of Fox news putting a "D" after a disgraced republican's name doesn't count–even though it's verifiably false, and Fox has done it a suspiciously large amount of times. But that doesn't count, I'm sure.
How about the times they've misrepresented the size of protests–higher if it's a tea party protest, lower if it's anti-war. But that doesn't count either, I'm sure. And on and on and on. The BS never ends on that channel.
Though I like the fact that FOX commentary shows can present "false news reports" and that doesn't count either.
Why won't Fox touch the constitutional ineligibility of Obama with a 10 foot pole.
Article 2, Section 1, Clause 5 of the US Constitution states:
No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President.
No person whether born in the United States or not who has a parent whom owes allegiance to a foreign sovereignty can not be a "natural born citizen".
On Fight the Smears, a project of the Democratic National Committee, the state the following regarding Obama's citizenship:
“When Barack Obama Jr. was born on Aug. 4,1961, in Honolulu, Kenya was a British colony, still part of the United Kingdom’s dwindling empire. As a Kenyan native, Barack Obama Sr. was a British subject whose citizenship status was governed by The British Nationality Act of 1948. That same act governed the status of Obama Sr.‘s children.
Since Sen. Obama has neither renounced his U.S. citizenship nor sworn an oath of allegiance to Kenya, his Kenyan citizenship automatically expired on Aug. 4,1982.”
Barack Obama Sr. owes allegiance to a foreign sovereinty and so does his children.
By the Democratic National Committee's, own admission, Obama was a subject of Kenya and Great Britain at the time of his birth and by his birth to a mother who was a US citizen at the time of his birth, he obtained US citizenship also. However there can be no doubt about it that his father owed allegiance to a foreign sovereignty. Therefore, Obama, himself, owed allegiance to a foreign sovereignty at the time of his birth.
Can a citizen who owes allegiance to a foreign sovereignty be a "natural born citizen" who would be eligible to serve in the office of the President of the United States?
David Ramsay, Founder and a delegate to the Continental Congress in 1782–1783 and again in 1785–1786 said "NAY" in 1789, when he stated the following:
A citizen of the United States, means a member of this new nation. The principle of government being radically changed by the revolution, the political character of the people who also changed from subjects to citizens.
The difference is immense. Subject is derived from the latin words, sub and jacio, and means one who is under the power of another; but a citizen is an unit of a mass of free people, who, collectively, possess sovereignty.
Subjects look up to a master, but citizens are so far equal, that none have hereditary rights superior to others. Each citizen of a free state contains, within himself, by nature and the constitution, as much of the common sovereignty as another. In the eye of reason and philosophy, the political condition of citizens is more exalted than that of nobleman. Dukes and earls are the creatures of kings, and may be made by them at pleasure; but citizens possess in their own right original sovereignty.
There is also a great difference between citizens, and inhabitants or residents.
Any person living within a country or state, is an inhabitant of it, or resident in it.
…
None can claim citizenship as a birth-right, but such as have been born since the declaration of independence, for this obvious reason: no man can be born a citizen of a state or government, which did not exist at the time of his birth. Citizenship is the inheritance of the children of those who have taken a part in the late revolution; but this is confined exclusively to the children of those who were themselves citizens. Those who died before the revolution, could leave no political character to their children, but that of subjects, which they themselves possessed. If they had lived, no one could be certain whether they would have adhered to the king or to congress. Their children, therefore, may claim by inheritance the rights of British subjects, but not of American citizens. – David Ramsay, Founder, 1789.
That excludes any possibility that one parent of said children could be an alien who owes allegiance to a foreign sovereignty.
Congressman John A. Bingham said "NAY" in 1866:
"[I] find no fault with the introductory clause, which is simply declaratory of what is written in the Constitution, that every human being born within the jurisdiction of the United States of parents not owing allegiance to any foreign sovereignty is, in the language of your Constitution itself, a natural born citizen. . . . ” John A. Bingham, (R-Ohio) US Congressman, March 9, 1866 Cong. Globe, 39th, 1st Sess., 1291 (1866), Sec. 1992 of U.S. Revised Statutes (1866)
I'm also surrounded by liberals who go nuts at the mention of Fox. Most of the time, they've never watched it and can't point to anything in particular. Sometimes, they heard something from a coworker whose brother's friend read something on a blog. Or they watched it for a few minutes, took something out of context and twisted it around to fit their liberal preconception. Or they just plain hate everything about Fox because it is center-right and they're not. Funny how liberals pride themselves on being open-minded and tolerant, then go ballistic if someone doesn't toe the liberal line. Like you, I've learned it's pointless to discuss. Facts and arguments are irrelevant to them.
I told you, fool, Fox agrees with US that's why we watch…Now GO AWAY…HufPo is lookin for you…You took all their Kool-Aid…
Of course some folk won't 'get it'. However, those will be the same folk who will come up to you and ask you for some 'networking' numbers so that they can go work for the 'evil' Fox News. Seems everybody likes conservatives when it comes for money and jobs. Amazingly, liberals don't have much cash…without government handouts. Viva Fox!
Don't … disturb… the … echo…chamber…chamber…chamber…
Fine. Just don't kid yourself that you're all open thinkers relying on logic, and common sense, who don't shout KOOL AID over and over when you can't even refute, well, anything. You don't want your stereotypes disturbed, and you don't want to even think about the obvious holes in the news source that not only deceives you, but creates a cult-like world where anything that contradicts your emotion-based responses is "liberals" and "socialists" and other ridiculous assertions.
Here in the buckle of the Bible Belt, it's hard to find anyone who does NOT watch FNC.
I pretty well missed the Olympics in China.. because I tried to watch the opening ceremonies but just couldn't handle it. Olbermann and Costas were stomach turning – and it seemed one or both were there every time I tuned in.
Please go away away away far away away…..I need some hope n change..from you… Arianna is missing a drone….
Thank you for responding and giving me the opportunity to reply. Outside of my office complex liberals, in very boisterous voices, engage in religious and ethnic bigotry. They call people idiots if they disagree with them, and this includes students. They constantly proclaim how stupid people are for having views that differ from them. So, do I hold these people in high regard. No, I do not. I do think, however, that they are "sad little men and women" who have no respect for anyone who has an opinion that differs from their own. Again, there is no intellectual engagement of ideas. The defense of their ideas comes by raising the decible level, and calling people derogatory names. (continued)
And, I do pity these people but not in a condensending way, but because life is a tremendous gift and there is so much more to life than running someone else down. Living life to its fullest embodies respecting the freedom that we have to chose. These people in my office have not shown me anything other than their will to control others, and to run down and shame those that do not toe their party line. This is my view of them and I have arrived at this view objectively by observing them for multiple years. Please show me where I am wrong in what I have concluded. So far all you have done is point out that I have a lack of tolerance and respect for them because I have pointed out their actions. In that you have not condemed the actions that I have described this strongly suggests that you approve of their behaviour. Basically I see you as wanting it both ways, which is a typical liberal ploy. Liberals get a free pass for whatever type of behaviour they want to engage in. Someone points this out and basically condems it, which I suppose is what I am doing, and now I am the bad guy. I am hopeful that the tide is changing on this particular point.
It's the same with people's reaction to Rush Limbaugh. They don't have any idea what they're talking about because they've never listened to him. They're just parroting what they've been told to think.
Sadly, those of us who occasionally fly actually know that CNN is full of it.
I'm glad you keep your sticker on your computer and you don't like their nonsense bother you. I have a friend who was backed into a corner by a co-worker (a woman, of course so he could push her out of his way or he'd be arrested) and railed on because word got out he was a Republican. It's insane. You're handling it the best way.
I live in a country that's had government run socialized health care system for decades, and it's a living hell (worst than a nightmare). It's bankrupt in every way and form. Hospitals are underfunded, understaffed and ill-equipped, patients lay waiting and or dying in halls and corridors from overcrowding, there are chronic long waiting/consultation periods, and most everyone has to slip doctors an envelope of cash for quicker and proper treatment. If you want to play Russian roulette with your health system and with lives of loved ones, including your own life then this is the fate that awaits. Don't take my word for it, just wait and see for yourself… only it will be too late to reverse. Your faith in socialized/centralized care will evaporate rapidly. Why? Because what Obama and Dems are pushing, are words and tactics we've heard before and seen a long time ago. Do you really want to suffer so much like us? .. It doesn't make sense..
Obamacare™ will be a one-way ticket to the next life for millions of Americans.
"I have not watched Sean's show since the week after Colmes departed"….If you have not watched Sean's show but for that short period, how come you're being judgmental? Hannity has plenty of liberals to spar with all the time, even having Colmes on occasionally. My vote is for the format to remain as it is now…Colmes used to make me pull my few remaining hairs out…and I can't afford that!
Want to piss a Liberal off right now? Click on foxnews.com. It gives them a hit, keeps their website ratings up and makes the left absolutely insane with fury. Lots of fun!
I happen to enjoy the debates on Fox. Liberals are so predictable. They despise Fox and though never admit they watch Fox, they seem to know all about it. When I get a negative response to my comment about something I've seen of Fox. "Oh! You watch Fox?" Cool!" They are so stunned they're usually left with their mouths hanging open. What a blast, I love antagonizing them….only problem, their numbers seem to be shrinking.
Oh Matt….Tell me how you avoid libs? As long as we send our children to the local Medrassas, stemming the tide of immature liberal thought will be tough indeed….
…and a few smelly old gym socks to stuff in his pie hole occasionally…only one worse is that bald lynx cat whose name gratefully escapes me at the moment. (the 'lynx' was worried about someone seeing his penis if and when the full-body scanners go on-line at the airport.)
This is an article that shows that , the following statement is an accurate one to make concerning the Mainstream (ABC,NBC,CBS, MSNBC, and the State Run Associated Press)….Liberalism performs the exact opposite of its stated intent. As a Registered Member of the Libertarian Party, I do watch Fox News, as well as use another good source that is very centrist in this readers opinion…Reuters. Those are the only two sources I see that really give a fair and balanced Perspective on all that is going on the world around us.
If all you watched was MSNBC you would think that FOX News was the prelude to the Anti-Christ coming. No wait – that can't be true – since they think religion is evil. Let me try again.
If all you watched was MSNBC you would think that FOX News personalities were The Worst Person In The Woorrrrllllldddddd. If all you watched was MSNBC you would think that FOX News personalities were all racists. If all you watched was MSNBC you would think that people that watched FOX News were flat earthers – because Olbermann, Maddow and Matthews told you so – and of course they are enlightened people.
So – if all you watched was MSNBC (or CBS, ABC, NBC, CNN …) of course FOX News lies. Because you would be stupid and can't think for yourself.
Maybe I don't really like Sean all that much…Even though I probably agree with everything he sez..But, I want you to keep your hair, so, leave it as it is…I don't watch anyway….
Had to laugh at CNN's Jack Cafferty the other day while he sputtered and fumed as to how dare Obama and the Democrats lie and obsfucate and circumvent the democratic process. Sounded like he was on FOX news.
Come on….don't act like a liberal…if you know this to be a fact, be specific….and we'll rag on him as if he were a liberal.
I regularly read 'Media Matters', and they seem to thrive on slurs without specifics…I have yet to hear anybody name anything Beck has ever said that has proven wrong…but if there ever is, I'll bet my paycheck that Beck will address the issue and admit any mistakes.
Yes! I have to say–I never say anything to anyone about my political beliefs yet invariably, I encounter people who assume I am left of center and ramble on nastily regarding "the right". I am always taken aback as why would someone ASSUME what I thought? Wake up lefty morons—there are a lot of people out there who disagree with you–in fact, never make assumptions. There are more of us than you realize.
I am always amazed at the hate, insults and name calling of the Left. They never seem to want to discuss the merits and history of accomplishments of their big government, big union policies.
You realize of course sites like this are built on the same tactics you decry.
As far as the other bit, you contradicted yourself, and I pointed that out quite clearly.
"Liberals get a free pass for whatever type of behaviour they want to engage in. Someone points this out and basically condems it, which I suppose is what I am doing, and now I am the bad guy."
No, you–and sites like these–are doing exactly what you decry, in the same near-breath acting like you aren't doing the same thing. Yet, it's a "liberal" tactic. I mean, read this very thread–you can find more than a handful of insults and denigration. But somehow it's "a liberal ploy."
It's like how once I read Rush Limbaugh's intro to one of Ann Coulter's books–and it was a 3 page lecture about how liberals can't debate without namecalling and childishness–followed by 200-odd pages of Coulter namecalling and childishness. The hypocrisy would have been hilarious if it weren't so blatantly pandering.
You know, you can make the case that both "sides" of the political spectrum (if you want to view it as a sport with two teams like Rush and such doi), have their extreme "loons" or whatever word sites like this use. But if that's true…
…you realize that this site and Fox are the "loons" of the right…right?
Doing nothing–the republican plan–is no longer acceptable or an option.
If people disagree, then elect someone with your views, and support them.
That's the American way, and that's what we're doing now.
The Party of No is not the party of the people any longer.
Beck lied about an encounter on a train with the View girls, and was called on it–in person–on their show. He stammered–obviously caught, and just tried to change the subject.
It's on tape. It's him. But it doesn't count.
And if you've never heard Beck proven wrong, you might step outside the Fox news vacuum. No paycheck required.
"I am always amazed at the hate, insults and name calling of the Left."
Gee, you never get that from conservatives, hmm? No wait, just look at the comment right in front of yours…
"lefty morons"
I wonder why I'm not surprised you're "amazed."
Maybe you do not know what is meaning of suffer?? Your party you support says Yes to suffer? This type of thinking is mental/insane (excuse my english). Have you very high fever?
This is not the American way that I've come to know your country for. Socialized care is hell, does not bare repeating. God Bless you as you visit to the dark ages.
Well, a good chunk of the country disagrees.
Again, the Party Of No is welcome to come up with something besides scare tactics serving the insurance lobbyists and etc.
If they come up with a good idea, the American people are ready and listening. But so far, it's just been… no.
Not to sure about that MerryJ1, Never knew any liberals that were concerned about their "God" given rights, usually they are smirking at those who do believe in God given rights. But I guess it could have been taken the other way also, and if that is the way asymmetrical meant it then I apologize!
It's okay Mr Guest, if it pleases you to choose YES to suffer I welcome you to my Hell – We suffer all together… like one big miserable familia.. . Aye aye aye.. enjoy the weekend and your govt. control caring for you.
My response when attacked for watching Fox News: “What, don’t you believe in diversity?”
What really gets me is that after all these years Fox does not have ANY competition! Regnery publishing has, in recent years, acquired competition from the more "conventional" publishing houses who couldn't ignore the conservative literature market and started their own conservative imprints but the networks are determined to go down all flags flying.
Too bad, because Fox could really use the competition. I would kill to see a more "fair and balanced" version of BBC (for their more far-flung international perspective).
I had the same reaction when I reported a news story on Ted Kennedy's background after he had died last year. It was how he left a woman to suffocate in a car and lied about it. The site was a yahoo newsgroup of former employees of a company we all use to work at.
I was accused of watching Fox News! Where else could I have gotten such news. I provided links to several sources, none of which were from Foxnews.
Several of the people who comment at the site have stopped communicating with me since. Liberals…….. closed minds
Guestin' are one very rude jerk..and maybe act about 12…how is that for facts? Keep pounding sand, we do not care. If you do not like FOX, don't watch it, we do not care. You have no right to tell us what we are seeing with our own eyes and hearing with our own ears. You do not get to do that. It does not work that way. Your OPINION we do not care about. We form our own opinions of what we see and hear. We also do other research and share information. I can overlook petty, but not rude. We do not care what you think or really do not care to hear what you have to say.
…and the roads and the military and all the other things the government provides.
You would think that these eggheads in charge of CNN etc. would try to copy somme of the business practices that have made Fox #1 but no, they continually get poor ratings and attack their competition. DAH, DAH
When have the Progressives ever had someone that was not in their corner, espousing their dribble? For years all we had was CNN. Turner said on "The No Spin Zone" that he dreaded when a conservative cable news program ever started because he knew they would do well and he did not want Fox on the air. He felt that CNN was better able to give all Americans the news. I disagree. Long ago I turned from :CNN when I realized some of their programing was propaganda. When that happened, I turned them off and later discovered Fox. Now I watch all of them in a Matrix on Direct TV – 8 stations in a box I can see all at once and can blip from one station to another. Now I can balance out the stations by listening how each present the same story. Bottom line: When something really important is breaking, Fox generally does a good job. CNN has gotten better at playing the middle, on hard news, I have noticed, and do a pretty good job also. Overall, I always turn to Fox for 80% of my news, however. I now have a choice and I exercise it. Some want to take that away. Never will I allow that – even if the Government sticks its nose in. America has awakened.
Things are different where i live. I have a FNC coffee mug that i carry with me often. The comments i recieve are the opposite of what you get. A lot of stores around central GA have tv's playing with FNC on them. The comment i get most is you have to watch them to get the truth or I LOVE FOX.
rule #1 liberals are ignorant douche bags, remember that and everything else fals into place.
The first step in destroying your perceived enemies is to dehumanize them… Once they are so awful in the minds of believers that their very existence is an affront to decency and hence, human safety, getting rid of them is a lot more palatable…
Best of luck in your career, Shendy. Remember that hate makes them stupid, which will soon make them extinct.
"It’s because Fox is the only news channel to hold the politicians and elites in D.C. accountable!"
Let's revise this statement.
"It’s because Fox is the only news channel to hold the politicians and elites in D.C. accountable when those politicians and elites in D.C. endorse policies opposite to its pundits' fiery leanings."
Just because you agree with a news network does not make it a superior outlet. As an aspiring journalist, it is your undoubted duty to utilize multiple resources to gather news and commentary. It is this civic responsibility that allows someone to develop an acuteness for identifying media bias and its subsequent implications. Professionally speaking, you're running in place if you only watch Fox News.
Looking forward to welcoming them!
"also like that the Leftist community (HufPo), who can't put an intelligent thought together"
Guess libs should make such wise insight as "liberals are ignorant douche bags" like one of the above commentors, huh?
Fox news is the only news channel to actually have "news" on it. They picked up the tea parties, the communists that are now elected Czars/dictators, and Acorn child prostitution loan services.. None of these things were ever aired on the Communist News Network or it's ilk.
Don't fell bad about these people. If you are judged by the company you keep, then I suggest you keep the company you have. Progressives can't survive under the weight of reality and the facts. They are like thieving children. Ignore them.
Based on your "data" why would ANYONE come to the US for medical care? Obviously, everyone here is lucky to live past 35. It's not like the UN agencies have their own agenda…
Why isn't there a constant stream of elderly fleeing to Uganda and submitting to a witch doctor? I will expect you to hie off to Havana at the first opportunity, or the first chest pain, given that there is a constant Coast Guard patrol to enforce the travel ban out of the US, like the one by the Cuban government to keep everyone in Marxist paradise. Perhaps Canada? Wait, you need to wait how many years for a by-pass?
Or are you noble enough to stay and inflict your Marxist ideology on us ignernt Right Wingers, who were not blessed with your insurmountable intellect? How lucky we are to have you here to guide us to true Social Utopia!
A classic example of my previous note that Leftists are smugly ignorant of their own mental limits.
If you can have FOX/SKY everywhere but Canada?
We would love the diversity.
We are USAs' largest trading nation.
And besides which we have all the oil, except
yours of course.
We have now al jewizz.
Pardon Conrad
He was convicted in Chicago.
May FOX be with you and with thy Spirit….
When libs rant on like that, you should always just thank them for being so tolerant and loving. Never complain, never explain.
Truth is.. Fox was available only to govn't.
We waited years for fox , "they " put Conrad in irons….
For the crime of "capitalism"….in Chicago.
We await Mr. Murdoch with baited breath.
I just love my "Fox News Channel" hat,…..have been waiting for a negative comment ………..none nada……….3 years ……..maybe the libs don't have the balls to say anything to my face……..they run to the dark like cockroaches……..we are a 2 party system, liberal or conservative, no dems or repubs, just libs and conservative……just say what you are and take the consequences
Yeah, keep spouting those "learned" talking points, you "educated adult" you…
While Fox has a reputation while the relic media does not, shows how well the relic media has done its job of indoctrination over he years.
How 'bout that thoughtful, tolerant Left? One of the other posters got it right–if they try to deal with the truth, that means they have to think and thinking is "rilly, rilly haaarrdd. These not-very-closeted NAZIs are the poster children for uncounciousness and intolerance. Just shut and begin all of your sentences with the word "I believe in…" rather than "I know…." or "I've thought about …" and be lobotomized in the same way and to the same extent that I am and there will be peace on earth.
Shoe betcha. Pissie Chrissie likes him some evil.
Ya know, that BigIvoryTower thing might be a better idea than you thought. I'm degreed and I got so tired of the Leftist pap I had to put up with that it was hard sometimes to plow through it long enough to learn anything that mattered.
I like Fox and it's the only news channel I can stomach. Having said that, they also have plenty of liberal journalists working for them. Some days I get irritated by the way they cover stories, with a liberal bent. Information-wise, I rarely learn anything new because I have already been at my PC and am up to speed on the issues.
I guess my point is that Fox News is not a a hard core conservative news channel and still they are hated. It proves that the left cannot tolerate any thing besides their left wing version of events. My advice to those who need a come back to the accusation that "Fox lies" is to reply "Really? About what specifically?" They will have no facts to support the accusation. Fox News may not be as conservative as I would like, but they don't peddle lies either. More than I can say about any other station.
Now that is funny!! The shear mention of the word "FOX" to the lefties twangs on their nerves. With the right lean minds, mentioning ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, MSNBC, and the rest of the MSM just makes us laugh. We don't have to espout verbal hatered or throw a tissy fit. I just laugh and walk away – it's really hard to have a high end intellectual conversation with ideologs who base everything on beliefs instead of factual data.
Well, I must admit, seeing a Obama sticker has the same effect.
This site and others like it were built to shed light on the left leaning biases out there and to give intelligent conservative/libertarian leaning people an outlet for discussion.
I am glad, Guestin', you are actually engaging in a discussion via point/counter-point because so many times people who disagree with the content of sites like this come here, hit out with an attack that is never backed up, call us "loon" and leave without further debate.
Wow, how many liberal talking points can someone cram into one debate?
1)Infant mortality rates!!!! OMG!!! Infant mortality rates have nothing to do with a health care system and everything to do with personal health care. If you are shooting up crack while you are pregnant, your baby might die–that is one example of why infants die. It's not like they are ALL dying at the point of birth while receiving medical attention.
Use your brain. What does a "health care system" have to do with overall life expectancy? If a US patient goes into a hospital with a type of cancer they are more likely to survive than if they go into a universal type medical facility. If the US person eats junk food everyday; shoots up or does drugs or drinks too much; if the get shot; or if they engage in otherwise risky behavior and dies because of it–that has nothing to do with getting medical treatment.
All of those points you reiterated from your favorite "Health Care for All" site are misleading at best.
Why not listen to the people who actually have to deal with a Universal Type System like Thomas V up there? These are the people who deal with it everyday. It is not a type of system you want implemented in this country. I have lived through it myself.
And, BTW, the Republicans have offered many solutions none of which have been implemented in the current bills.
Koolaid addicts, like zombies, walk amongst us in droves. Don’t let them get to you. They like to call themselves optimists and progressives but the real description for their pathology is “denial.”
They refuse to believe that the tragic ends of past civilizations that have had it as good, relative to their times, as we here in the US have it now (or had it until tax and spenders took over), could not possibly happen to us. They hate and despise any source – Fox News – that holds up the pathology of denial so evident in most of the MSM to the cold light of day. It makes them uncomfortable to have their exclusionary world challenged.
The prospect of all-out war coming to our shores or a WMD, God forbid, detonating in one or more of our big cities, is beyond their willingness to imagine and they deny anyone with the gall to conceive of such horrific events the right to be concerned and hold our pols accountable for their willful ignorance of the need to protect us.
We’re busy, with the active help of these deniers, rushing towards our own dismantlement if de Tocqueville is to be believed (and he was pretty much spot on in his observations, IMHO): “A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover they can vote themselves largess out of the public treasury.”
It would appear that this is one of the biggest denials of our day. More power to you and Fox News for shouting such news from the rooftops.
I’m a great fan of FOX News. In Canada, we have nothing like it, so our family watches FOX every night. (I have to say, I’m getting somewhat tired of Bill O’Reilly, whom I used to like a lot. He bullies people and also spins like crazy. E.g., His contortions to remain “neutral” about Obama are disingenuous, at best.)
As a new Catholic, I altogether identify with Shendy Hershfield: the rude and judgemental things said to me by “tolerant, inclusive” liberals are astonishing in their arrogance and condescension. Like Shendy—BRAVA!—I find myself less angry than more fully aware of the ignorance and malevolence of those on the left. Kyrie eleison.
liberals are so ignorant and brainwashed i have no use for them. i dropped all friends that were obama voters. and most are now telling me they made a mistake. sorry. too late. i told you to "watch fox news for facts and journalism". only watch msnbc, cnn, abc, nbc, cbs, if you are needing pure fictional entertainment. life is too short to have brainwashed ignorant friends. Purge the imbeciles, and move on.
Actually Nitro is correct is his interpretation. AsyBal did mean Rush, Hannity etc. looking in the mirror NOT the alphabets. The alphabets don't have the kahones to look in the mirror – because they already KNOW what they would see.
I like Sean he is a Conservative and does not apologize for being one, but, Yeah flogs a dead horse, and he can be really annoying when he wants to go a place his interview subject does not want to go or dwell on even when it is not constructive to do so(the recent Andy Williams interview leaps to mind).
He is also not very fast on his feet so to speak, when he has an obvious point that can be made and either misses it or ignores it when it would suit his arguement. When he had 2 college girls on that were obvious liberals protesting poverty, he went in a spiel "to each according to there…." that drove me up a wall, why not do something like point out that they were standing in the result of 40+ years of the war on Poverty and they had proven by their protest that it had failed so why continue doing the same thing. Might do better to win hearts and minds then his obvious bash of Obama and redistribution policy which is what it was dismissed as.
Guestin: Scrolling through the comments it appears as you are the one who is “spouting those learned talking points” not able to tolerate views not in lock step with your ideology and feel the need to continue banging your head against the wall on this site. You can’t be thinking that the FAIR AND BALANCED WE DECIDE FOR OURSLEVES crowd will read your words and cross over to the “one mind set MUST fit all” side where thinking and making decisions for yourself is NOT allowed or the lie based smearing will ensue. lol!!!!!
As Frank Zappa once said, and I am paraphrasing loosely here; I have a message for all the beautiful people out here in the audience tonight. If you are one of the beautiful people, then I want you know… There are more of us ugly fuckers out here than you! So look out!
It really doesn't matter what you say to liberals, they will not believe truth, just like AGW believers, they deny facts and replace them with blind ideology.
The "train/View" incident was actually proven false by someone. I can't remember who, but you could google it . It might even have been on Brietbart.
sure, fox lies. they're cable news. i don't get why people single them out while ignoring everyone else though. i mean NBC has got to be worse, and the others are just about as bad. anyone who grew up with the internet should be aware of the huge difference in old and new media by now, come on.
This is not the interview/investigation I watched on the "Train Incident" that sealed the deal in my mind that Glen was in the right on this. This link has a perspective on the situation that you've probably never entertained, given that you trust Whoopi Goldberg and Babara Walters to be unbiased.
http://www.glennbeck.com/content/articles/article...
OK Drone, Listen up….We like FNC, you don't, so what….You have a huge varity of leftist pap you can enjoy everyday on the MSM….We have only FOX News and TalkRadio…(For how long, we're not sure…)
Why not just go away, lick the wounds you've gotten here, and enjoy another big pitcher of MSLSD flavored KooLAiD, like a good little brown skirt…
You seem good at repeating stats without actually knowing what they mean or understanding their limitations.
1) Infant mortality rates. There are international difference in the registration of babies with an extremely low birth-rate or countries' classifications of births as live births or stillborn. A European report on perinatal indicators, for example, noted a wide variation in how European countries define infant mortality, due to differences in birth and death registrations practices (that is, differences from the cut-off points for acceptable weight or estimated gestation period to be registered as a birth and subsequent death).
From WHO's website: "The reliability of the neonatal mortality estimates depends on accuracy and completeness of reporting and recording of births and deaths. Under-reporting and misclassification are common, especially for deaths occurring early on in life."
Then there is also the successful delivery of more pre-term babies and babies with very low birth-weights. These babies face higher risks of death.
More fertility programs result in more multiple births. These babies are usually born pre-term with a higher risk of death.
2) Life expectancy rates. People die for a variety of reasons unrelated to health-care. Auto accidents (high in the US), homicide (high in the US), self-imposed obesity leading to numerous health problems. (high in the US), drug/alcohol addiction (I suppose this is the health-care system's fault too?), etc.
And medical misadventure deaths (you know, something that actually has to do with the health-care system) is higher in some countries with better health-care (France, Ireland, Sweden, Austria, Australia, etc.).
4) Overall level of health? Again, to rank a health-care system by overall level of health is quite disingenuous. Is it the health-care system's fault that people eat poorly, don't exercise, abuse alcohol and drugs, etc.? On the other hand, the US is tops in common cancer survival rates and better in treating cardiovascular disease than places like Canada and the UK.
Furthermore, more people per-capita in the US are screened for common cancers than those in Canada and the UK (may well be for other countries, too). With their free, universal health care system, you would think it would be the other way around.
Party Of No. Oh, please; you simply prove how ignorant you are by parroting the leftist slogan. You're embarrassing yourself by showing how little you know.
Here, enlighten yourself: http://www.house.gov/ryan/readthehousebill.pdf
Proposed amendments have repeatedly been rejected by Democrats. Furthermore, Democrats are stripping GOP amendments after they were voted on and approved by committee.
I watch most of the news channels, thanks to many TVs and PIP technology. I can then begin sifting the wheat from the chaff. I will say this, for the most part Fox News gets it right. MSNBC doesn't even try and I've dropped it form my rotation. CNN can almost sometimes get it right, but it takes a lot of effort and so much light shining on the subject that even they cannot ignore the truth.
As for the network news outlets… please. Finer works of fiction can only be found in bookstores and the amount of news they simply ignore because it doesn't meet their stringent re-education syllabus could build a new nation.
This article makes me want a Fox News tee shirt. In kind of a punk rock way. Screw the haters!
Really good article! I'm glad someone has written about a real life occurrence.
I change the channel to Fox whenever I'm subjected to a waiting room.
Richard, You are wasting your time with this drone…He must spend all his free time harrassing anyone and everyone here on this site…If you have time, go to the first page of the comments and read his contrived rude knowitall responses to my very deliberate musings….I haven't heard from him today….He must be doing his homework in preparation for middle school tomorrow…
Move to Texas, Utah, or Southern Idaho. You still have your libs, but they are easier to avoid.
"some of the greatest people in the TV industry"… At "the Hannity show"? Really?
Truth be told, you did go to work for Satin…
Your tax dollars and government at work:
Walk into any US Government building in DC where they have TV monitors in public places or in offices, and you will see the centrally-controlled programming tuned into CNN…in every case.
I've never/never seen Fox News aired in any of these locales, even during the Bush years.
Fox isn't news, it's opinion. Seriously. You should have interned for a real journalism outlet if you ever hope to get a job in respectable media.
Fox, its anchors, reporters, opinion makers, have educated me to want more from a candidate than just being a community organizer or union dupe….I want someone who has run a business, has dealt with a budget, hired and fired, came from simple beginnings…not inherited wealth or status….hope those in Mass. elect Brown, not another Kennedy clone who believes in any means to an end, or takes advantage of a crisis….
Remember criminals, liberals are sitting ducks. When you get out of prison, join the Democrat party, get the addresses of the rich ones, and go to work. O will be proud of you.
Here in Texas you would be welcome with open arms. Well anywhere but Austin, but then they are weird. Anyway in Texas we know that Fox is the last best hope for journalism and you would find a pretty friendly crowd down here for the most part.
Fox is on most of the time in my house. Sometimes, when Shep starts shouting down people who talk down Obama, or Bob Beckle is on I just have to change the channel. The others like CNN, etc are all locked out. Of course, if you look at the numbers that Fox gets compared to say MSNBC , then you have to ask yourself, "How can those few always find me?".
This growing list of comments is beginning to eclipse the original blog post in absurdity.
Fox News is not authentic journalism. You are criminally delusional if you believe that what you are seeing on your seen is objective exposition of current affairs. There's nothing wrong with liking a channel that mirrors your political beliefs. That's what liberals have MSNBC for.
But don't misconstrue ideological similarities as the basis of real journalism.
Say, why don't we start a grassroots movement to
1. stop paying taxes to Obimbo and Tax cheat Geitner
2. Secede from the US by forming our own nation, government, use the Constitution that we started with our Creator and Founders
3. and… BE FREE with little to NO government control
Those with me… Say AYE
Nicodemus, the Free
Whenever anyone tries to tell me about Fox News bias, I am quick to bring up a simple fact: Fox was the first major news outlet to report the DUI story about GWB a mere 72 hours before the 2000 election–it's not even clear to me that this story would have ever seen the light of day if not for Fox–so much for bias. What people just don't get is that Fox is a news organization; its daytime coverage is pretty much down-the-middle. Yes, the evenings are filled with right-of-center commentary and "infotainment"–but so what? If you don't like it, change the channel.
More recently, I happened to be on a commercial airline as the Christmas Day bomber story was playing out–fortunately, they had DirecTV on board, so I was able to get the news as it was being reported. Fox was first to report on the breaking story, with CNN breaking into its programming about a half-hour later. Both channels covered the events pretty extensively as news became available. They both eventually returned to their canned Christmas programming, but would break in often throughout the rest of the day and evening as warranted.
Meanwhile, over on MSNBC, they were rerunning one of their dreary five year old recycled documentaries from Dateline about overcrowded prisons. Never mentioned a word about it the entire day. Yet somehow, I am supposed to believe in MSNBC's credentials as a news organization? Pass the Kool-Aid, please…
Say drone, Arianna called and needs you to bring more Kool-Aid back home to the hive.. , she likes the MSLSD flavor, as I'm sure you do too..
Hear this and STFU…. WE like FNC because they agree with US…Just as you like MSLSD because you agree with them…. See the diff??? Now go….and don't come back…..
A good article, but is it news? I thought Big Journalism would have news, not anecdotes about the media. This seems more fitting in Big Hollywood. Honestly, a lot of the recent articles seem to fit better over there.
Kudos for confirming the purpose of my comment.
As I stated, there is no problem with supporting, promoting, and wildly endorsing a news network that favors your political preferences. The problem is mistaking something you can agree with for real journalism. There is blatant bias present in all three major cable networks — they are rarely legitimate sources for hard news. So don't jump to conclusions about why I am commenting or what my agenda is. I could be on your side, pal (There are a few rational conservatives left over, you know).
And don't humiliate yourself with the reckless acronyms and errant punctuation. This is why people are laughing at this site already.
Excellent piece- your experience is more proof that liberalism is a mental illness. These are people cut from the same fabric of people who would have burned "witches" at the stake, fascist dictators, and schitzoids. The truth is so threatening to them that they go out of their way to express hate with their mouth (if they hear their voices denouncing Fox News or anything that shines the light on reality, they feel as if it is the truth).
The left is in trouble. Most of them know it deep down, but like an alcoholic who doesn't want to stop drinking, they live in denial.
OK hotshot…I'll bit…What is your learned suggestion for factual, unbiased, truthful, sans adgenda, source for news? I really want to check it out….
Did I ever claim to know of a magical news portal free of journalistic pratfalls? No. It should be a consumer's civic duty to rely on a diverse cross-section of sources for such information. Aggregation is the only answer to a divided press.
However, don't misinterpret that statement as the self-pretentious declaration of a smug centrist who touts moderate ideologies to avoid confrontation. I have my political beliefs and you do, too. When media outlets appeal to our political beliefs, that's not news.
What investigatiove journalism by FNC is this intern talking about? Unwarranted wiretaps? Outing a CIA agent? Blackwater's crimes in Iraq? Walter Reed? Fox News uncovered NONE of these important stories. The MSM did.
This intern will find that having Fox News on her resume will be a hindrance to her career in journalism. They post half-triuths and substitute opinion for fact. She might want to leave it out if she wants to stay in the field!
Well Mr Centrist, the question remains….What are YOUR preferred sources…?? 3-4 will do…I can't wait to hear this….
What a terrible disappointment. I opened this site, and read these comments, just to compare the hate of the right with the hate on the left.
I have asked posters on a dozen sites to please give me an address where I can read right-wing hate, like I see left-wing hate on a million sites.
No one has been ble to do it.
Usually I get censored because I dare ask such a question.
Get over your smug self.
Blatant bias in all tree major cable networks? There is blatant bias everywhere, including NYT, PBS, BBC, etc. The majority of the blatant bias that exists everywhere leans left. That is what happens when over 80% of journalists' vote Democratic.
Did Fox News ever hold BUSH accountable for anything? Hell no. Fox News was a Bush cheerleader for eight years. Roger Ailes was the chief media adviser for Nixon and Bush Sr. He's a die-hard Repub. He's not objective. It would be like CNN putting James Carville in charge of news. Ailes' job is to portray the GOP in the best possible light. That's not providing news. It's providing a right-leaning POLITICAL AGENDA. If this intern couldnt recognize that while at FNC, she needs to get out of the journalism business before she makes a fool of herself elsewhere.
Actually, I'm laughing at you.
I stated that there was blatant bias in all three major cable networks because most of the commentators on this site are more focused on television outlets. Of course I know that blatant bias exists everywhere. Dismissing someone as "smug" (at least find your own adjective without rehashing mine) is highly ineffective. You will accomplish nothing except the continued circle-jerking of the irrationally hostile claque on this website. If you want to have a reasonable discussion about political bias in the media, then I will certainly oblige. But don't resort to childish name-calling to preface a quasi-revelation.
I do not live in a major metropolitan center, so options are fairly limited unless I make an active effort to purchase the nationwide edition of a city paper at Barnes and Noble or Borders.
I read my city's daily paper over breakfast in the morning. Throughout the day, while at school, I'll typically browse Drudge or another portal aggregator (The Huffington Post is blocked at my school, so you're out of luck on that rebuke). Honestly, though, Newseum is my all-time favorite source. I peruse the national front pages, and, if a certain story or feature entertains my attention, I visit that publication's website to read the content in full. The start page on my home computer is CNN.
… are you done recycling my rhetoric?
Correct.
That's terrific…I know you'll do well in life…With all those different sorces you read, you can't miss!… I'm especially impressed with the CNN selection….and the Big City Newspaper…Excellent!! Newseum I checked out for a minute ..It seems like PBS to me…
"I do not live in a major metropolitan center."
"… and the Big City Newspaper…"
Are you reading what I type?
Sure I read "what you typed" nationwide edition of a city paper…I just thought NYTimes and shortened it….You still seem pretty uptight….Maybe time fofr beddy-bye…Nite…Nite…
The Wall Street Journal and the New York Times are the only national newspapers carried by major booksellers like Barnes and Noble or Borders. I'll occasionally see a Washington Post or Los Angeles Times on the shelves, but their presence remains a rarity. So, yes, you are fairly correct by shortening my description to "NYTimes." What's the next topic?
I just showed what you wrote to my horse, FOXY, she couldn't make heads or tails out of it, but wanted to know more about the 'circle-jerking" concept….Wanted to know if they do that at the middle school you attend…???
You are making no progress by typifying me based on my age or academic status. Are you running empty on meaningful argument? Because this certainly confirms your immaturity.
PT….All here are finding you amusing…But I think you'd be a better fit, I mean with your intellect and vast experience, over on the NYTimes site, where you people can understand each other..Time for you to go niti nite…..
I never thought you'd ask. What type of journalistic experience would my eyes be graced with if I scanned your resume?
Forever young….Why grow up when I can have fun with Intellectuals here all the time??….We've all made the arguements,… you have punched giant holes in all of them!!….. Now it's just a free for all…But .I thought I told you to go niti nite….
Oh. Don't make me blush.
Just a good 'ol Country boy here in Wyoming…I'm a speach writer for someone you definitely know and most likely hate…..
I'm assuming you're a incomprehensibly successful speach writer with such a strong command of the English language.
Like you've made a fool of youself here? And I think Carville is in charge at MSLSD…You don't like FOX NC..Don't watch… We like it because they bagree with US….You like MSLSD and CNN because you agree with them..See any difference??? Now go to sleep little boy…..
I almost missed you over here. Let's summarize the night's events because the Disney Channel's programming is starting to wind down and Mom is screaming at me to get off the computer.
1.) There is nothing wrong with liking a network that you can agree with.
2.) Just because you agree with a network does not render it journalistically reliable or even credible.
I don't write the speeches for "INTELLECTUALS". The speeches must be geared toward people who work, have families, run businesses, care about American Values, and pay taxes. You know, those who find the content on the FNC to their liking..
Anyone not agreeing with the above concepts, there is a world pap for you to enjoy….
Time for us in the West to hunker down for a good nites sleep…Nice talking to yo, son….
You might wish to look up the term "projection" and ponder for a few moments.
They should probably not be so eager to prove said above commenter correct.
IKYABWAI alert.
So now I get demerits for expecting journalistic standards from a site that Breitbart wants to use to show the dinosaur media how to do its job. Nice, guys.
I live in one of those places and I've seen ONE Obmummer campaign sticker, never seen a Democrat yard sign, and I've never talked with anyone that admitted voting for him.
I don't watch any TV at all, don't know any Libs and like it that way.
Thanks. Came to the same conclusion after his second reply.
Apparently so. Send me your rough drafts next time. We can collaborate.
yea, it's news…Did you know Shendy was working there….That was NEWS to me…:-)
I have enjoyed the persiflage. And I do understand your need to write for your candidate's audience.
I just thought it was ironic that you misspelt the name of an language-related career.
In 2001 I moved back to the United States after living overseas for several years. I ran into an old (very liberal) friend who sold "Faux News" t-shirts and bumper stickers. I had never seen Fox News and had no idea what this was all about and when I asked him why he was so anti-"some tv network" he had no good answer. He just said they were fakes and liars. I started watching Fox and was surprised that they were pro-America and they covered stories that almost always ended up being true and NOT covered by ANY of the other networks. Smear the network because they have some hard core Republican shows? WTF? Why some think promoting idiocy and ignorance with animal farm tactics is important in a democracy is beyond me. Watch the network that tells you the truth. Even if you are a liberal. Stupidity is not something to aspire to.
Why do you use words like "persiflage"? Do you think that makes you sound smart ? News flash….".Writer uses arcane and meaningless verbage, trying to impress NYTimes readers"….
We that work and pay taxes, don't have time to look up esoteric "palabras"…Now there's one for YOU…….
And he's NOT a candidate any longer…Just a former public servant who tried to make the country work… better…
I think if Fox really didn't report truthfully its critics would complain to the FCC in your United States (I get Fox 29 here in Canada). So they must be reporting the truth and not the "lies" its critics allege.
If I saw you in a bookstore working on a laptop with a Fox News sticker on it, you'd get a smile and a thumbs up.
Speaking of stickers, I'm seeing a lot less Obama 08 stickers in my parking garage at work. Seeing quite a few anti-administration sticker popping up however. We will all get a chance to speak with our votes in about 10 months.
[...] movement, only a discussion about tactics — let’s ponder that for a moment: Satan’s News Network is making more money that all its rivals [...]
We're going to showcase a wide variety of writers on a wide variety of topics — something for everybody to read and comment on.
Very interesting article. Thanks, fellow 'Burgher. I can't believe someone actually approached you about a sticker on your computer — as if it were a swastika or something (and even if it was — hello, First Amendment anyone? I thought everyone — Liberals and Conservatives alike — were supposed to be in favor of that).
Very nice read, some valid points were made. (This isn’t some dumb spam reply either, I’m a true follower.)
well, shendy hirshfield, i don't know about you, but for me, it's a double-whammy because i am jewish AND, a FOX DEVOTEE. thank you, though, for providing me with a new "attack" plan. i will no longer "fight back" but rather stare back or offer some benign retort such as yours in barnes and noble. thanks for teaching an "old dog new tricks." and, keep up the good work.
I use words like "persiflage" because they are more or less a part of everyday conversation. You are downright ignorant for dismissing "persiflage" as a word that is far beyond the majority's intellectual grasp.
Just because that word is absent from your vernacular does not mean that it is "arcane" and "meaningless." You do not represent the mental capacity of this country. I understand that being a speech writer has shaped your contempt for anything that isn't dumbed down to an insultingly simple morpheme. But that view is barely universal.
I think its great that there are young people out there that are free thinkers. So many college students actually believe the drivel that is out there. I am on the record that I am thrilled for Shendy!!!!
Sean says the word "literally" too much. He also uses an awkward phrase ("with great specificity") too much. That phrase is a bit pretentious and reminds me of someone trying to impress others with his oratory. He should use a more colloquial version (such as "with specific detail" or "in great detail") more frequently. Also, he allows to many democRATS on his program. We hear from them 24/7. He should focus more on letting conservative voices (callers and guests) be heard. Other than that, he's OK. But he's not in Rush's league.
Shendy, I enjoy your comments. Hang in there and don't worry about the liberals views. They can't help looking like a deer caught in the headlights. I've dealt with some too and it is like talking to a robot, however, you do learn who is a liberal in your community when you mention Fox News. I am a fan of Hannity, Greta and Bill's and the morning crews.
Guess that tells you how long my channel stays on Fox. I do break away for my soap opera's. I am a friend of your Jean. We email constantly and she sent me this site. And she is very proud of you. Keep up the great work. Sankie in Mt. Olive, N.C.
Ya I completely agree with your statement. Great writeup. But I think this website needs more graphics.
Thanks for this very useful information.
Mornin, wow, no false artificial, specially from the major news corperations with the big slants to the left or right. Did you see last nights Hanity and Colmes? haha, that was hilarious! Sorry, I am rambling along once again. Have a Great 1!
Regards for sharing with us all. Your content articles are really helping me to gather the reality about insurance quotes. I will have to stick to this website. Thanks and well done again.
She is cute
Kudos from one braniac to another.
Nobody is a bigger bigot than a 'progressive'. You can't call a black person the 'N' word but it's obligatory to call a non-fascist the 'R' word or worse. Every non-mainstream lifestyle is to be respected but mainstream must be vilified. These people would make a Nazi blush.
I can understand the opposition if all someone knew of FOX News was Sean Hannity and/or the comments (no doubt rooted in an intense jealousy) that MSNBC and even CNN make about FOX. But if someone has actually seen what FOX has to offer, they would know that while the "Fair and Balanced" motto seems a little tongue-in-cheek, it's a network that has earned its success.
I prefer to think of FOX as "Fair and BalancING," which is entirely true looking at them in relation to other news sources.
