It’s the question no one from the press is asking. Who is lying?
Over the weekend a video of Sen. John Kyl at a North Tempe town hall meeting shot through the internet like a bullet. The video showed Sen. Kyl revealing to his constituents that President Obama was holding border security ransom for better bargaining position on comprehensive immigration reform.
The White House responded on Monday morning with a flat denial. Deputy Press Secretary Bill Burton said: “The President didn’t say that. Sen. Kyl knows the President didn’t say that.” That last phrase is inflammatory as it flatly claims that Sen. Kyl is deliberately lying about this issue.
Rather than let the matter die as a “he said, he said” story, bloggers scoured the internet for any other corroborating facts to bolster one position or the other. Yesterday, Naked Emperor News uncovered audio from an interview Sen. Obama gave to local public radio in Chicago. In it, he strikes the same juxtaposition of “trading-off” border security for comprehensive immigration reform, exactly as Sen. Kyl suggested:
Add to that corroborating evidence Sen. John McCain’s words on the floor of the Senate, where he describes meetings with the President on the same subject: “It was made very clear to me… that the President basically conditioned his support for border security to comprehensive immigration reform.”
At what point does the White House press corps start pressing this issue further? The question needs to be asked: “Are Sen. Kyl and Sen. McCain both lying? And how does the president explain his comments made in 2004 on the same subject that corroborate the position being assigned to him by the Senators?”

I am not a big fan of Kyle because he supported the last amnesty try but I have never known of him lying. However we do know that if Obama's lips are moving he is lying.
I am very disappointed in the republican leadership response to this issue. Where is Michael Steele? Playing golf with Obama? Issue after Issue like this one you are handed on a silver platter! Its time to go nuclear! START FIGHTING OR GET OUT OF THE WAY!

I think people just take it for granted now that Obama is lying most of the time. Of course Obama does NOT want to secure the border. He needs the latino vote very, very, badly and will do anything he can to get it. Why do you also think a lot of western states are trying to make it easier for illegals to get a driver's license? So that they can show some form of identification (if needed) when voting. Voting registration is a joke in this country and the ACORN people have proved that. So once they get a driver's license, they will be able to vote too. Obama's only hope is to get a lot of latinos (whether they are here legally or illegally) to vote for the democrats and that's why he is both NOT securing the border and suing the state of Arizona over its new law. November isn't far away, gang, make it count.

Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas , Texas home to the second busiest maternity ward In the country with almost 16,000 new babies arriving each year. (That's 44 per day—every day) A recent patient survey indicated that 70 percent of the women who gave birth at Parkland in the first three months of 2006 were illegal immigrants. That's 11,200 anchor babies born every year just in Dallas . The hospital spent $70.7 million delivering 15,938 babies in 2004 but managed to end up with almost $8 million dollars in surplus funding. Medicaid kicked in $34.5 million, Dallas County taxpayers kicked in $31.3 million and the feds tossed in another $9.5 million.
The average patient is 25 years old, married and giving birth to her second child. She is also an illegal immigrant. By law, pregnant women cannot be denied medical care based on their immigration status or ability to pay. OK, fine. That doesn't mean they should receive better care than everyday, Middle-class American citizens. But at Parkland Hospital , they do.Parkland Memorial Hospital has nine prenatal clinics. The Dallas Morning News followed a Hispanic woman who was a patient at one of the clinics and pregnant with her third child—her previous two were also born at Parkland . Her first two deliveries were FREE and the Mexican native was grateful because it would have cost $200 to have them in Mexico . this time, the hospital wants her to pay $10 per visit and $100 for The delivery but she was unsure if she could come up with the money. Not That it matters, the hospital won't turn her away. (I wonder why they even bother asking at this point.)
How long has this been going on? What are the long-term effects? Well, another subject of the article was born at Parkland in 1986 shortly after her mother entered the US illegally – now she is having her own child there. (That's right; she's technically a US citizen.) These women receive free prenatal care including medication, nutrition, birthing classes and child care classes. They also get freebies such as car seats, bottles, diapers and formula. Most of these things are available to American citizens as well but only for low-income applicants and even then, the red tape nvolved is almost insurmountable.
Because these women are illegal immigrants, they do not have to provide any sort of legitimate identification – no proof of income. An American citizen would have to provide a social security number which would reveal their annual income – an illegal immigrant need only claim to be poor and the hospital must take them at their word.
Parkland Hospital offers indigent care to Dallas County residents who earn less than $40,000 per year. (They also have to prove that they did not refuse health coverage at their current job. Yeah, the 'free' care is not so easy for Americans.)
There are about 140 patients who received roughly $4 million dollars for un-reimbursed medical care. As it turns out, they did not qualify for free treatment because they resided outside of Dallas County so the hospital is going to sue them! Illegal's get it all free! But U. S. Citizens who live outside of Dallas County get sued!
As if that isn't annoying enough, the illegal immigrant patients are actually complaining about hospital staff not speaking Spanish. In an AP Story, the author speaks with a woman who is upset that she had to translate comments from the hospital staff into Spanish for her husband. The doctor was trying to explain the situation to the family and the mother was forced to translate for her husband who only spoke Spanish. This was apparently a great injustice to her. In an attempt to create a Spanish-speaking staff, Parkland Hospital is now providing incentives in the form of extra pay for applicants who speak Spanish. Additionally, medical students at the University of Texas Southwestern for which Parkland Hospital is the training facility will now have a Spanish language requirement added to their already jammed-packed curriculum. No other school in the country boasts such a ridiculous multi-semester requirement.
So Obama is lying. He will just post more Federal signs telling Americans to stay out of Drug Cartels smuggling lanes. Mexico will file suit claiming the land due to eminent domain. They will win in Federal Court.
Ok, we already know that Obama is not exactly the most honest guy in town. Hey! I'm being nice here. So who would you believe. Immigration is killing Americans, Obama is not one to waste a perfectly good crisis.

Kyl is a decent man. Ya may not like his politics but he's no liar. And when he speaks it's always with courtesy and respect. He really tries to be statesman like in working with his fellow Senators.

I don't think so with the Roberts' Supreme Court. There's a new sheriff in DC. And it takes a while to get through the paper work. But I believe the Supreme Court is reasserting it's constitutional requirement to be a full third branch on checks and balances.
Question? Would it not be easier and cheaper to simply stop illegals from coming in than it is to track those who do along with those already here. I don't want amnesty neither does most of America. We want the thing stopped period. We want those here already not tracked but gone home.
Making it a crime to aid and abet any illegal in anyway would help to convince them things are better at home. No jobs, no house, no food, no meds, no nothing and they will either steal and get locked up or march their little patooties home where they belong.
We will find another method to pick fruit and veggies. I know this because it would become a crisis and my illustrious potus just doesn't waste a crisis.

The Republicans, if they had any 'nads, should counter with the following argument: Why should we support comprehensive reform (amnesty) because then you guys won't have any incentive to close the border?

The reason I'm optimistic about the Roberts' Court, is I have faith they're big enough to rise above that and do what the Constitution says anyway. Otherwise known as CLASS!

It would be interesting to see all 50 (57 for Obummer fans) states pass their own legislation regarding illegal immigration and any other laws that the federal government is not enforcing under the constitution. It would keep the DOJ on defense and could be used to negate progressive policies by EPA, FCC, FEC, Dept. of Education, HUD, Dept. of Labor, etc. We need to fight fire with really hot fire. The added value would be to drive the progressives further into insanity. States with real cajones would outlaw unions in the public sector- forget about CA and IL… they are the new "Greeks".

In 2007, the figure that Parkland ate JUST on Hipanic Illegals was $700,000.00…………………..remember this is a Dallas County Hospital.( these were not all ER svcs).
And, it had to WRITE this off………………. Meaning Dallas County taxpayers paid it.

You are close to spot on….except the GOP, wants Amnesty, but they cannot afford to CROW about it, because their Constituents are conservatives,moderates, and Independents.
Dems on the other hand, HAVE to have them, the African American population is finally waking up, and more and more are becoming Repubs,Independents, and Moderates,mainstream, higher education, and middle, to upper middle income.

What part of our immigration laws need reform? It seems like a given on both the left and right that immigration reform is needed. The left wants it now and wants it to include amnesty. The right want the border secure before we tackle reform.

I don't know what the hell the Left wants, but the GOP's standard position seems to be that once the border is secured, we need to de-complicate the process of legal immigration. Three-plus years of waiting in line is unacceptable, especially since it seems to encourage large numbers of aliens to say 'to hell with the legal process' and jump the border out of sheer frustration.

Yeah, I get the need to stream-line the method – we are talking about government bureaucracy after all . That sounds different than comprehensive reform though. Comprehensive reform is starting to seem like nothing more than a political ploy to gain votes. A ploy that both the Dems and Republicans are trying to use. Why comprehensively reform something that just needs to be more lean?

What really happened during the conversation was that FORE!Obama's teleprompter went out on him and he had to speak off the cuff. He should not be held to account for that type of a conversation. FORE!Obama should ask for a do-over when his teleprompter is repaired. I wonder how much longer before some group starts calling for that guy's impeachment for impersonating a President. The Obama Administration is criminally negligent or, more likely, maliciously reckless in ignoring the safety needs of citizen. The only real purpose for a federal government is to provide for the common defense. Not health care, not illegal immigrant amnesty, not back-door slavery reparations, or kowtowing to union thugs. In 2009, San Bernardino County spent $64 million providing welfare benefits to U.S.-born children of illegal aliens. According to county records, during a typical month, close to 15,000 offspring of illegal aliens received either welfare payments or food stamps in 2009. Over 11,000 of those children received both forms of assistance.
While $64 million more than the county can afford particularly during the current deep recession, it is but a drop in the bucket, when you consider what the entire state of California is paying-out to ‘anchor babies’ and their illegal alien parents. In August 2009, Los Angeles County Supervisor Michael Antonovich made public the staggering amount which the taxpayers spend on illegal aliens, living in L.A. County. Last June alone, the county paid out $48 million to the children of illegal aliens, an increase of $10 million over June 2007. $26 million of that total came in the form of food stamps, while another $22 million was given to the illegal alien families in welfare checks. Assuming that June was a typical month for 2009, Los Angeles County spent nearly $600 million on those two programs last year alone. That is in addition to the more than $1 billion that the county spends annually on the medical treatment, education, emergency services, and incarceration of illegal aliens.
In 2003, the American Southwest saw 77 hospitals enter bankruptcy due to unpaid medical bills incurred by illegal aliens. A staggering 84 hospitals in California alone, have been forced to close their doors because of the growing crisis. Hospitals which manage to remain open, pass the unpaid costs onto the rest of us, which translates into more out-of-pocket expenses and higher insurance premiums for Americans. With rising unemployment, huge trade deficits due to the loss of our manufacturing base, and a soaring national debt, we simply cannot afford to pay the bills for this nation’s illegal alien population. We can no longer accept elected representatives who choose to better represent a foreign national population, rather than those of us who actually pay their salaries. Illegal immigration is slowly but surely destroying this nation.
