In case you missed the latest example of vitriol within the social media of Facebook, witness “I Hate it When I Wake Up and Sarah Palin is Still Alive” page:
Below is the enlargement of its original sicko profile picture from Monday night shown in the search above . . . which has been changed following Rush Limbaugh’s mention of the page on his radio show Tuesday.
As of this writing, the page is still up and running. Entering the search term “hate palin” for Facebook, I found over 100 pages containing titles expressing varying degrees of overt animosity and vitriol against Palin:

While others contained truly sick, hate-filled threatening titles:
What sort of sick people personally degrade, threaten and wish death upon a mother, wife and fellow American whom they do not know?
Jared Lee Loughner for one.
Does the relative anonymity Facebook affords subscribers by permitting multiple pseudonyms and ever changing profile burqas (so to speak) embolden those who would otherwise shrink from such vicious expression and clothe their emotions in more polite civil speech? Applying the logic of the Make-Believe Media, should we judge Facebook creator Mark Zuckerberg as enabling, provoking or agitating future crimes against the targets of the hate on his site?
Conservatives will answer “no.” Ultimately, individuals are responsible for their own actions, not movies, not the radio, not political rhetoric and not social networks. Rather than shifting the blame, we should ask focused questions about those sick individuals who attack, who injure, who use such vicious hate speech and what motivates them.
Sarah Palin or Gabrielle Giffords, take your pick. They are both human beings, the same, and worthy of the same polite dignity and respect.
Mr. Zuckerberg, do you agree? Then share this on your social network.

I can safely speak for that lowlife creep and say "no"
Just lovely people on the left aren't they?….Just lovely. <barf>
The source of the hatred…
From the desk of D. Mephistopheles, Attorney-at-Law:
Dear President Obama,
I must admit, I am greatly pleased to see that the recent events in Arizona are having their desired results. Of course you were unaware of my machinations on your behalf, but that must often be the case. Consider it "plausible deniability", a term with which I believe you are well familiar. After all, whenever innocent blood is shed, you can trust that someone from my firm has been at work. And please, whatever face you wish to put on for your adoring public, do not play coy with me. We have known each other far too well for far too long…

The social temperature is rising toward a boiling point. I doubt anyone would enjoy what's likely to happen should it rise any further.
As long as we have the present administration/DOJ nothing will be done to those who threaten conservatives, that's what this administration is all about, taking out the enemy at all cost, which just happens to be any conservative who has a public platform in which they can speak truth to the masses. The Marxist have their wagons circled but they still have the DOJ inside that circle.
"Ultimately, individuals are responsible for their own actions…" I believe this to be true. However, it seems more and more folks do not. No, really. That is a fundamental difference in perception. A person either is or is not responsible for his own actions – barring mental illness. Blaming someone else for what I have done hasn't worked since I was a child. In fact, it didn't work then, either. But I have to see that not all the people in America agree with that. Not all people in America are raised with that value. The young man in Chicago who was just found guilty of murder in the beating death of a 16-year-old never admitted to actually hitting the victim in the head because the video was obstructed. There are way too many young adults in America who never admit to anything they do.
Dog killer? If Sarah Palin was a dog killer, Joy Behar and Roseann Barr would be… not alive anymore.

Wow! 14, 20, 32, 214 members! Such support for the wingnuts on the left! I've got more "friends" on Facebook than all these "Hate Palin" sites combined! Perhaps we are too worried about the human debris that starts these groups? They have as small a following as Ed Schultz and the other unwatched loons on MSNBC. Let em marinate in their own hate….
Great article, but it won't change a thing on the left. Not without de-programmers.
Sarah Palin the American patriot has class !!! Boy, When she speaks the WH is surrounding the TV.They have to listen and watch her speak. Americans love Sarah. What a wonderful certified American hero. She is also Christan, Oh boy !!!! GOD BLESS HER.
The more Palin talks and, the liberal left says, the more sense Palin makes. Their fear of her just enhances the fact that she's telling the truth.
"The time is near at hand which must determine whether Americans are to be free men or slaves."
George Washington
How can I come to this conclusion? I've been paying attention the last two years,Obama himself referred to conservatives as the enemy and tried to incite violence by telling his merry band of followers to bring guns to Becks Rally, only problem Obama has is that his merry band of followers is made up of the cowards which make up the MSM.and of course we can't leave out the guy pulling the strings SOROS,which is the root of the problem for any free country..
From the moment Sarah Palin was nominated to run with McCain, the progressives and their vile media lapdogs went after her with a vengeance. Never in my life have I witnessed a woman and her family treated with such irrational hatred and disrespect. The things that were said about Trig were so horrific my blood boils just thinking about it. Even more appalling was that neither man running for president spoke up in her defense. McCain, in particular, was a coward and I can never look at him in the same way again knowing that he didn't tell the media thugs to back off. And as for Obama, I gag at the thought of him lecturing us about civil discourse. How dare this man who uttered violent rhetoric throughout his campaign (and even recently against the very people he is supposed to represent) use the Arizona tragedy to portray himself as a leader of integrity who is innocent of the very thing he and his mouthpieces claim to abhor.
As noble as your attempt is Ms. Swift, it would be hard-pressed to expect people who have no respect for themselves, to respect other human beings….not gonna happen but we do applaud your sincere efforts and feel secure in knowing we do agree with you too……
I find it hard to believe I used to be one of them.
What the hell was I thinking?
Oh yeah. I wasn't thinking.
I know what you mean. I remember the late 1960's too. Not too pretty.
Now that is funny!
The glory of the left. Personal, horrific tragedy, shattered families, broken communities. And they first thought they have is how can they benefit from it.
What a miserable existence it must be to dedicate one's life to hatred.
Sometimes it's hard to remember we're all on the same team. That's why http://mittromneycentral.com/2011/01/12/congressm... was so refreshing and timely. Before the race for 2012 officially starts, we should get as many people to read that wonderful piece as we can. Then, in 2012 we can bring America back!
Actually, yes, we should judge facebook for this, because groups such as those violate the facebook Terms of Service: groups are not allowed to target or threaten any individual, public or private. Therefore, the fact that they have not been shut down yet in compliance with their own rules speaks volumes.
Hey the liberal indoctrination I was receiving in high school back in '76 (I had no idea) had me all pumped to make my first ever Presidential vote for Jimmy Carter, it just seemed like the only natural choice. By the time the next election came around and I had been out of high school for several years and could find no REAL employment but for the $2.10 an hour minimum wage go nowhere enslavement and couldn't buy a vehicle of any kind for less than 19% interest……..well……lets just say I feel like it was then that I actually became a grown up person with grown up thinking.
Yeah, ain't reality a heck of a kick in the a$$.
Before i just into the meat of the issue. I need to talk about safe harbor. Facebook isn't responsible for what it's users post. Without this there would need to be so much manual oversite that the internet as we know it would cease to function at all. If some crazy person posts something in a comment on this blog, you dont hold the Andrew Breitbart or Dana Loesch responsible, just as you shouldn't hold Mark Zuckerberg Responsible for rogue facebook groups.
Secondly, Im not sure how pointing out small groups of immature teens creating groups demeaning political figures is meant to excuse violent words spouted by adults; Politicians, pundits, and bloggers alike. I've seen a lot of finger pointing back and forth. First the left blaming the right and then the right saying not us, but you! The point is it's both sides! Pointing to teenagers is an example of leftist hate, is a new low too, because who are children looking to as role models to see how they should frame their arguments? Adult; ; Politicians, pundits, and bloggers alike, thats who. They just emulate what they see.
People in glass house should cast no stones, and I've seen too many rocks fly by. I hope that more people will take this opportunity and live by the golden rule. examine their own actions, and not use other people that you generally don't like as an excuse to act as poorly as they do, because then what are you?
I used to be a moderate liberal. And if I still was, you can be sure that I would have been disgusted with the Left's behavior the last few days.
In fact I know for sure because their behavior in 2000 and after 9/11 caused me to abandon them forever.
Let's hope there's a bunch of Americans out there that have finally woken up to the depravity of the Left and will abandon them forever as well.
You can tell that to the Left – they started defaming the Right, Palin and the Tea Party WITHIN 2 HOURS OF THE SHOOTING.
The Right is defending itself and it has a right to do that. They are not blaming the Left for the shooting, they are pointing out:
1. Both parties use "passionate" rhetoric neither of which is bad or an incitement to violence;
2. The "passionate rhetoric" of the Left is far more violent than anything on the Right. Michelle Malkin has a fine report on that.
If you ask me, they abandoned us. I haven't changed my beliefs. They have.
So vile, there are no words.
Gotta say, the amount of vitriolic, mean spirited hate speech coming from the left is off the charts – pure EVIL.
Yet the MSM is in utter denial …guess they only know "Fuzzy Math" …Dumb, Dumber and Dumbest.
Too bad totally stupid hate groups cannot be 'outlawed', but we don't do that here. Perhaps exposing them, so that others can see them in action is a good thing.
However, these ill informed, hate consumed mal-contents really make the case for retro-active BC, IMO.
Well, maybe this is your problem, SittingQuiet …you're Sitting QUIET.
It doesn't take a rocket scientist to add up the vitriolic mean spirited hate speech of both sides …
Sadly, the LEFT out does the RIGHT: 100 to 1. Yet YOU are just Sitting Quiet.
Unfortunately Susan Swift missed the worse of the lot: "Sarah Palin Must Die" with 91 members and is a private group. I reported it to facebook a couple of days ago, yet it still exists.
I'm sorry … if you think that all of those facebook users are politically aware teens, I sincerely doubt it. You're making an assupmtion and a probably false one. I'm in my late twenties and joined facebook in college when it first started. My 63 year old father is now on facebook. There are a whole range of age groups that espouse a whole range of things. This kind of speech from the left isn't just isolated to "stupid teenagers".
Name the "violent words" spoken by adults (I assume you mean Palin) so we can all laugh at you.
As for the glass houses quote…don't look know but your house is in rubble.
im not so sure about 100 to 1, but whatever. I am sittingquiet. observing, listening, reflecting. god gave us two ears and only one mouth for a reason.
yeah my mom is 55 and she is on facebook. But most older people dont use facebook to its fullest; creating and joining foolish groups. My mom doesn't know how to post photos. So I am more than likely right in my assumption that so teenager started the group " i want to hate f*ck sarah palin" And it is important to remember there are 500 million people on facebook. if you look at the screen shot there are 2200 people in that group. that is .00044%.
which is statistically completely insignificant.
