One would think that progressives, whose favorite pastime is patting each other on the backs for how “post-racial” they are, would be gratified to see African-Americans of all political stripes gaining a voice throughout the political spectrum.

Certainly, the election of two Black Republicans to Congress should be a welcome sign of advancement to the self-described chaperones of minority interests, especially since Allen West and Tim Scott were elected in the Deep South (Florida and South Carolina respectively).  But as they continue to demonstrate again and again, the far left’s pining for “diversity” ends where political thought begins. Consider Politico’s recent attempt to smear West, a retired Army Colonel, as a right-wing version of the despicable and shameless Alan Grayson.

As Warner Todd Huston so thoroughly demonstrated,  when we lay side-by-side each man’s story, style and substance, that nexus is utterly preposterous.  So what’s Politico’s real beef with the representative-elect then?  West has committed the cardinal sin in the eyes of the “tolerant” elite.  He dares to be an African-American and a conservative who, heaven forbid, even finds kindred spirits in the Tea Party movement!

As important as it is to point out moments of bias in the mainstream media, it’s also important to point out moments when the mainstream media gives us a glimmer of – dare I say – “hope” that someone out there wants to do their job. Anderson Cooper has certainly had moments of blatant bias. A good example is when he did an investigative report on Planned Parenthood. Cooper came to the table with the belief that abortion clinics, as they are now, are a necessity and that they should be covered by insurance. But recently Anderson Cooper has shown on more than one occasion that he is capable of giving a hard interview to the normally unchallenged left. It started with Shirley Sharrod. When Sherrod went on AC360, Cooper let her claim that Andrew Breitbart wanted to take us back to a time of slavery unchallenged. Cooper later apologized to his viewers and since then has found a new vigor in interviewing controversial guests.

The left uses CNN as their crutch for “brave” interviews. If you go on MSNBC it’s just too obvious that you’re not interested in having an interview with any real challenge. When Rep. Bernice Johnson went on Anderson Cooper a few weeks ago, she got way more than she bargained for and we applauded Mr. Cooper for that. It’s time once again to give credit where credit is due to Mr. Cooper.

On October 6th, Representative Alan Grayson went on AC360 to give what he hoped to be an easy interview about his very controversial – and frankly sickening – Taliban Dan ad. (more…)

N.O.W., the National Organization of Whores, leaped into the lead for the title of most epically hypocritical organization this week. Whoops, silly me!  I mean National Organization for Women. But, as ExJon of Exurban League pointed out to me, they won’t mind being called whores, will they? I mean, they obviously have no problem with that term, otherwise a group who claims to be For the Women™ would not, you know, endorse men who slur women with that term, now would they?

brown

Of course they would. And did.

A mere 24 hours after Jerry Brown was caught calling Meg Whitman, his opponent in the race for California Governor, a “whore,” they endorsed him. Proof positive once again that Leftist feminists, including their cult-like organizations, will stop at nothing, even rewarding sexism, to further their true agenda. An agenda which is not one of concern for women at all.  To the contrary; leftist feminists actually use women, solely as a way to further this agenda. And heaven forfend if some women don’t fall for their lies nor allow themselves to be used. Then, they are called whores or brainless sex objects only. If trying to diminish one through sexualization fails, they’ll move onto trying to take her gender away totally by calling her “a big mashed up bag of meat with lipstick on it.” Or “Pat Buchanan in drag.” Or a host of other garbage spewed forth in venom-filled animus meant to demean and dehumanize the offending woman. By offending, I, of course, mean free thinking conservatives. (more…)

You won’t hear Katy Couric, Brian Williams, Diane Sawyer, and Anderson Cooper reporting this story, but it’s perhaps the most defining narrative of this election cycle. Since the Ruling Class Democrats aren’t able to make much progress with the electorate by defending the policies they enacted into law (the Stimulus and Obamacare remain hugely unpopular according to all polls) they have deployed the only strategy they have left—using rhetorical dirty tricks and clever manipulations.

Alan Grayson, incumbent Democrat and known liar
Alan Grayson is only the most visible example of Democratic incumbents using that age old dishonorable tactic of lying. Grayson’s lie was easy to catch in Florida’s 8th Congressional District race.  He took video of his opponent, Daniel Webster, saying “don’t rely upon the Bible verse that says wives, submit to your husbands,” edited out the word “don’t,” and ran a television commercial claiming Webster supported something he had clearly advised against.

In New Jersey’s Third Congressional District, incumbent Democrat John Adler and his friends have confessed to cheating—they’ve put a faux Tea Party candidate on the ballot, a desperate effort to keep Tea Party supported Republican challenger John Runyan from winning. (more…)

The preening, sneering, cocksure face of the modern Left: Rep. Alan Grayson, whose one term in Congress is about to come to a merciful, if ignominious, end when the good folks of his traditionally Republican district regain their senses this fall:

Note the “Bush vacation” talking points — just in time to deflect criticism from Obama’s sixth vacation this year.

Really, where do they find these people? (more…)

While more discouraging (if not downright frightening) economic news continues to roll in, making the Obama administration look increasingly incompetent, and while a federal judge unilaterally declares we’ve been misinterpreting the Constitution for nearly 225 years, and while a sitting Congressman is being investigated for ethics violations boogies down at his star-studded birthday bash, Politico decrees that this is the most important story of the day:

will its offbeat candidates hurt GOP?Will its offbeat candidates hurt GOP?

The advocates masquerading as objective journalists at Politico are aggressively trying to change the narrative and make the 2010 election cycle about the character of individuals in the GOP and not the track record of the Obama administration.  Although the Democratic Party itself nominated Alvin Greene, undoubtedly the offest-beat candidate in this election cycle, elected screwballs such as Alan Grayson and Al Franken to their first terms just two years ago, and is still home to ethically-challenged Congresspeople like Rangel and Maxine Waters, Politico plays the politics of personal destruction with the current Republican nominees. All in a day’s work for the Democrat-Media Complex!

Does Harry – How Can Hispanics Vote For Republicans? — Reid count as offbeat?  Or what about the creep in New Hampshire who wished Sarah Palin would get incinerated in a plane crash inferno? (This just in — he resigned.) (more…)

It was a great week watching the left squirm with the Daily Caller’s release of the JournoList private emails.  I bet a lot of you lefties had a tough time sleeping due to stress and trying to remember just what you wrote in the emails, eh?

But let’s forget about the JournoList for a moment and turn our eyes to another listserv out there in Google.  I’m referring to Matt Stoller’s private, invitation-only TownHouse listserv.  For those of you who are unfamiliar with Stoller, he’s a progressive blogger-turned-senior policy advisor for Rep. Alan Grayson (D-FL).  Now we all know what we can do besides teach with a history degree, but I digress.

According to SourceWatch:

Townhouse provides the online equivalent of a political backroom for Democratic Party-aligned advocates, consultants and lobbyists. On this closed listserv selected liberals — including bloggers Glenn Greenwald, Markos Moulitsas and Atrios; film maker Robert Greenwald; leaders of liberal think tanks such as Robert Borosage of Campaign for America’s Future; Wes Boyd, Tom Matzzie and other leaders of MoveOn; and other Democratic campaign and PR consultants — can confidentially discuss and debate their issues, strategies and tactics.

An article on Salon reports: “Townhouse began after the disastrous 2004 election, when young Democratic activists began meeting on Sundays for beers at Townhouse Tavern, a subterranean watering hole in Washington’s Dupont Circle neighborhood…

Here’s Florida Congressman Alan Grayson, probably the most obnoxious member of that august body (if you don’t count Barney Frank), barging into a meeting of the Orange County Republicans executive committee yesterday and — this being “Die Quickly” Grayson — hilarity immediately ensued:

But wait!  There’s more!

This is the man whose official biography on his House website includes a heartbreaking, and heartwarming, Dickensian tale of his young life in the Bronx.  Try to control your tears as you read this triumph of the human spirit: (more…)

That would be Lt. Col. Allen West, running for Congress in Florida’s 22nd district.  Because America needs more clear-eyed, unflinching truth-tellers like him:

You may recall the Atlanta-born Col. West from his service in Iraq, during which he was became embroiled in controversy for his actions in the field and was made subject to an Article 32 hearing, from which he emerged with both his dignity and service record intact and, in the eyes of many, his stature increased.

From his website, here are some of Col. West’s awards, citations and decorations:

In his Army career, Col. West has been honored many times, including a Bronze Star, three Meritorious Service Medals, three Army Commendation Medals (one with Valor), and a Valorous Unit Award. He received his valor award as a Captain in Desert Shield/Storm, was the US Army ROTC Instructor of the Year in 1993, and was a Distinguished Honor Graduate III Corps Assault School. He proudly wears the Army Master parachutist badge, Air Assault badge, Navy/Marine Corps parachutist insignia, Italian parachutist wings, and German proficiency badge (Bronze award).

Wouldn’t he be more interesting to hear from once in a while than another Florida congressman — and MSM darling — the snarky Alan Grayson (FL-8)? You remember him: (more…)

It’s quite a stretch to call The Nation’s Max Blumenthal a journalist.

A real journalist is free to have an opinion and even to express it, but he doesn’t fabricate things to make his subject look bad. A real journalist tries to understand his subject and help his audience understand it instead of just subjecting it to abject ridicule.

Blumenthal, who leaped to conclusions in his since-corrected Salon.com article to slander Andrew Breitbart and James O’Keefe, is an ethically challenged agitprop creator and self-indulgent performance artist. His slurring of O’Keefe, who helped to expose the criminal inclinations of ACORN, as a racist is the same thing that ACORN does when it’s attacked. If you disagree, you’re a racist. Nyah nyah nyah nyah nyah!

This left-wing extremist, who wrote the book Republican Gomorrah: Inside the Movement that Shattered the Party, is so consumed by his hatred of the other side that he can’t think straight. His work is littered with factual errors, non sequiturs, selective use of evidence, glittering generalities, and hyperbole.

Blumenthal hates the Christian right, evangelicals, supporters of Israel, tea party activists, conservatives, and Republicans. This is not an exhaustive list. To him, conservatives are a “movement that’s filled with people who can’t handle individual freedom and the pressures of democracy.” Conservatives also are needy losers seeking redemption, according to Blumenthal: (more…)

Who had the line of the night?  Was it Obama’s condemnation of the Supreme Court, Justice Samuel Alito mouthing of the words “that’s not true,” or was it this instant classic from MSNBC’s most gaffe-prone host?:

Chris Matthews forgot he was black

Your reactions below. Oh, and to be fair, make sure to watch Matthews embarrass Dem. Rep. Alan Grayson and then Howard Dean, both post-Brown victory last week.

UPDATE: Matthews issues a “clarification” of his statement to Politico:

I think he’s done something wonderful.  I think he’s taken us beyond black and white in our politics, wonderfully so, in just a year.
