Nothing could be more repugnant than ridiculing the actions of a grieving family after the death of a child. It has not been a surprise that Leftists, who celebrate a culture of death, would pile on presidential candidate Rick Santorum and his wife for their actions following the death of their child. Nothing is off limits to the left and their politics of personal destruction.

Jake Tapper, one of the few true journalists left in the main stream media, recently wrote a blog entry discussing the progression of this attack on Santorum. Most of the left’s high-profile, atrocious hit pieces have been covered at Big Journalism here and here so there is no reason to cover them more. Tapper brought attention to a new piece, a column in the Boston Herald, by Jessica Heslam.

It was a pleasant surprise to see the Boston Herald publish a column written by a person who’s actually suffered through a trauma similar to the horror the Sanotrums experienced. The article is very poignant, indeed heart-wrenching.

I was 26 weeks pregnant with my first child, and it had been a blissful pregnancy. But on that beautiful July morning, something wasn’t right. I hadn’t felt my baby move, so I called my doctor’s office.

As I lay on the table in the dark ultrasound room, the technician glided the wand over my swollen belly. She then quietly slipped out of the room to get the doctor. My mind was racing and tears streamed down my face as I desperately held the hand of my husband, Herald reporter Dave Wedge.

It is impossible to imagine a loss of this magnitude without having experienced it personally. In spite of this reality, leftists have continued to peddle the meme that the manner in which the Santorums dealt with the death of their child is somehow weird or the result of some odd right-wing extremist quirk. As Heslam points out, that is far from the truth,

We were gently encouraged to hold our stillborn baby. I was terrified. I had no idea what to expect. No idea what my baby would look like. How on earth could I hold a child whose smile and cries I would never see or hear?

One of the nurses swaddled my daughter and put her in my arms — an act for which I am eternally grateful. Despite our fears and trepidation, the nurse assured us that holding our baby daughter would help us through our ordeal. As painful as it might seem, it would help us heal.

Grace was beautiful. She had my husband’s lips and my big toe. We told her how much we loved her and how sorry we were. Our families got to see her, too, and a priest came to our hospital room to bless her.

This story is eerily similar to the story the Santorums describe about their own loss and how they were counseled to manage it.

The Santorums’ actions are in line with American Pregnancy Association guidelines, which urge grieving parents to talk to and touch their stillborn babies — and for family members to spend time with them as well.

During the latest campaign appearance disguised as a presidential press conference, President Obama uttered one straight out lie that stands out above the rest of them. To help sell his “jobs bill,” Obama claimed to have met a Boston-based teacher named Robert Baroz and intimated that Baroz had no job despite his excellent teaching credentials. The problem is, neither claim is true. Obama simply lied. So, where is the national Old Media to pin Obama to the wall over this out right lie?

During his presser, Obama introduced teacher Baroz into the national discussion of his “jobs bill.” Obama claimed to have met Mr. Baroz and lamented that Baroz was out of work.

I had a chance to meet a young man named Robert Baroz. He’s got two decades of teaching experience. He’s got a master’s degree. He’s got an outstanding track record of helping his students make huge gains in reading and writing. In the last few years, he’s received three pink slips because of budget cuts. Why wouldn’t we want to pass a bill that puts somebody like Robert back in the classroom teaching our kids?

The problem with this little tale of woe? Firstly President Obama did not meet teacher Baroz. Robert Baroz did attend a Rose Garden press conference last September with a few other teachers, but the closest he ever got to the president was Baroz’ front row seat during the event. The two never came face to face, never shook hands, never actually met. Baroz saw Obama up at the lectern and Obama may have noticed Baroz sitting in the audience. That hardly makes for a meeting.

Apparently the Obama White House is not so fond of the Boston Herald. Well, maybe “not so fond” is too mild. More like furious. So mad, in fact, that the paper was banned by the White House from covering local visits by Obama and crew. The Boston Herald said “pretty please” and Big Brother O’s crew said, “not allowed!” And Orwell would be saying, “I told ya so.”

As Politico explained, the White House designates local pool reporters to augment the traveling pool of reporters covering events on the road. Usually a request is all it takes to get added to the pool. But when the Herald contacted the White House to get its reporters added to the pool the paper was denied access.

Apparently the water in Obama’s pool is too warm for the Boston Herald!

So, what is the deal? How did the White House explain this banning of the Herald? They actually didn’t bother to explain it at all, haughtily ignoring the question. However, a White House press staffer told the Herald that it was because the president was not happy that the paper dared to print an op ed by Mitt Romney.

Living up to its reputation as a Leftist administration, the Obama White House appears to be engaged in blatant press intimidation, given emails exchanged with the Boston Herald.

The White House Press Office has refused to give the Boston Herald full access to President Obama’s Boston fund-raiser today, in e-mails objecting to the newspaper’s front page placement of a Mitt Romney op-ed, saying pool reporters are chosen based on whether they cover the news “fairly.”

“I tend to consider the degree to which papers have demonstrated to covering the White House regularly and fairly in determining local pool reporters,” White House spokesman Matt Lehrich wrote in response to a Herald request for full access to the presidential visit.

The message seems to be loud and clear from the Herald’s perspective; so much so, that they’ve added fuel to the fire with a new companion piece. Let’s hope the institutions that are  home to professors that have commented negatively have their taxes and federal financial aid dealings done correctly. One never knows what lengths a tin-pot dictator might go to get the cooperation he wants from a so called free press.

In the aftermath of President Obama’s nomination of Elena Kagan to the Supreme Court, ABC and Politico, among others, have reported on Kagan’s history of political contributions. Not surprisingly, she has donated exclusively to Democrats, with Obama receiving more than half ($6300) of the $12,300 in total she contributed to national level campaigns in the preceding 10 years. (Hillary Clinton, Al Gore, and John Kerry were also recipients.)

The Boston Herald ran a story which also highlighted some of her contributions to state-level candidates, including Deval Patrick’s gubernatorial campaign and Tim Murray for lieutenant governor. However, every media outlet has either failed to report, or missed, a campaign contribution of Kagan’s which seems pretty notable given how little is known about her political beliefs and preferences.

In 2006, Kagan made a maximum ($500) campaign contribution to John Bonifaz who was running in the Democratic primary campaign for Secretary of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.  I suspect like me most of you have probably never heard of John Bonifaz, but it turns out he is about as far left as you can get before joining the Bernie Sanders fan club. His opponent in the 2006 race actually accused him of being a closet Green Party supporter, which of course is just a polite way of calling someone a socialist. But putting aside labels, here are a few facts about Bonifaz which demonstrate his extreme left credentials:

Not since the Salem witchcraft trials has there been a worse disgrace in the annals of Massachusetts jurisprudence:  the railroading of an innocent Malden family during the legally sanctioned insanity known as the Fells Acres child-abuse case.  Probably the apogee of the mass hysteria that gripped the U.S. beginning about 1995, the Amirault case continues to resonate – in part thanks to Martha Coakley’s inexplicable disinterest in seeing that justice was done.

There’s an old saying in New England, something one utters when another person grabs your chair or bar stool and plops himself into it before you were ready to leave:  “You wouldn’t jump into my grave so fast.”

Well, hold the phone.  As everyone in the State of Massachusetts and the country knows, Ted Kennedy was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor in May 2008, and as the months went on into 2009, the prognosis was: terminal.

With the imminent vacancy of Kennedy’s seat a foregone conclusion, Martha Coakley began ramping up her campaign for his seat… as early as January 2009.

The Boston Herald first reported on this story on September 25, 2009:

Attorney General Martha Coakley has run a shadow Senate campaign for months, shelling out $126,000 from her state campaign account for expenses likely tied to her Capitol Hill bid, including $15,000 for Web site upgrades just days before Sen. Edward M. Kennedy died, records show.

The spending spree began in January but ramped up the last two weeks of August as Coakley funneled $31,000 to consultants, fund-raisers and a Web design company in preparation for her foray into the high-stakes Senate race.
