Rahm “the Ballerina” Emanuel may announce that he’s abandoning the foundering hulk of the S.S. Obama Administration to go back to the criminal racket known as Chicago Democratic politics.  According to the Wall Street Journal:

Rahm Emanuel, the White House chief of staff who has one eye on the exit, has made scores of calls to Chicago politicians, businessmen and labor leaders to clear a place at the starting line in the race to succeed Mayor Richard M. Daley.

People close to Mr. Emanuel say he might resign from his current job as soon as Friday, though according to Rep. Danny Davis, family concerns are giving him pause. Said the Illinois Democrat, who met with Mr. Emanuel last week—and who may run himself: “I got the impression he’s very close to announcing. Much of our conversation centered around the likelihood that he would run.”

By sheer coincidence, Emanuel’s partner in the Obama brain trust, David Axelrod, recently announced that he, too, is returning to Chicago.

Considering Obama’s poll numbers — as well as those of Axelrod’s warmup act, Mass. Gov. “Cadillac” Deval Patrick(more…)

One of the most unfortunate results of the race card being played is the fact that the players seldom have to live with the messes they make. For purely political reasons, blacks and whites have been intentionally polarized, starting way back when David Axelrod led Deval Patrick to the governorship of Massachusetts, and now with the troubled presidency of Barack Obama. The administration has long since deployed the now well-known liberal tactic: opposition is racism.

Behind closed doors, this White House must be laughing their asses off at how easily the liberal media and activists can be manipulated to save their agenda. (more…)

In the aftermath of President Obama’s nomination of Elena Kagan to the Supreme Court, ABC and Politico, among others, have reported on Kagan’s history of political contributions. Not surprisingly, she has donated exclusively to Democrats, with Obama receiving more than half ($6300) of the $12,300 in total she contributed to national level campaigns in the preceding 10 years. (Hillary Clinton, Al Gore, and John Kerry were also recipients.)

The Boston Herald ran a story which also highlighted some of her contributions to state-level candidates, including Deval Patrick’s gubernatorial campaign and Tim Murray for lieutenant governor. However, every media outlet has either failed to report, or missed, a campaign contribution of Kagan’s which seems pretty notable given how little is known about her political beliefs and preferences.

In 2006, Kagan made a maximum ($500) campaign contribution to John Bonifaz who was running in the Democratic primary campaign for Secretary of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.  I suspect like me most of you have probably never heard of John Bonifaz, but it turns out he is about as far left as you can get before joining the Bernie Sanders fan club. His opponent in the 2006 race actually accused him of being a closet Green Party supporter, which of course is just a polite way of calling someone a socialist. But putting aside labels, here are a few facts about Bonifaz which demonstrate his extreme left credentials:

Michael Kinsley, the former editor of Slate, once defined a gaffe as what happens when a politician inadvertently blurts out the truth.  But what about when a card-carrying member of the MSM does the same thing?

David “advisor to presidents” Gergen is perhaps the most conventional of the conventional-wisdom purveyors in Washington.  To paraphrase Mary McCarthy on Lillian Hellman, every word that comes out of his mouth is a cliche, and that includes “the,” “but,” and “and.”  Almost nothing he says is ever original, insightful or thoughtful, although he delivers his empty phrases in a professorial honk that seems to convey authority.  If you want to know what everybody else within the Beltway is thinking, Dave is your go-to guy.

So that’s why this clip from last night’s debate between Scott Brown and Martha Coakley, competing in a special election next week for the open Massachusetts Senate seat, and moderated by Gergen, is fascinating.  Watch it first, then we’ll discuss:

It’s not the Kennedy’s seat, and it’s not the Democrats’ seat.  It’s the people’s seat.

If, against overwhelming odds, given Massachusetts’ political proclivities (number of Republicans in the state’s congressional delegation: zero), Brown can wrest the open Senate seat from Ted Kennedy’s cold, dead hands, he’s not only going to send a message to the nation that Obamacare is doomed, and probably the Democrats next fall as well.  He’s also sending a message to the Democrat-Media Complex.
