New York Times – President Obama has petitioned a Virginia Superior Court judge to issue a restraining order against Fox News contributor Brit Hume prior to tonight’s Presidential debate at James Madison University.

Obama stated in his complaint he fears for his campaign and is concerned Hume may “rough him up” in his role as moderator of the debate.  The President wants Hume enjoined from coming within 500 feet of him with a question which might appear harmless but could be used to bludgeon him.

Reuters – In a massive protest today against the almost certain election of Republican Mitch Daniels to the Presidency, Democrats across the country avoided the polls, casting the integrity of the results into doubt.

In Washington, Senator Charles Schumer (D-NY) said it was heroic for 30 million Democrats to choose self-disenfranchisement rather than allow their votes to count for nothing.  An AP survey last weekend had the President down to Daniels by 20%, despite gross oversampling of Wisconsin academics.

Boston Globe — Cambridge Police Officer James Crowley of “beer summit” fame was arrested outside his Natick, Massachusetts home today and charged with disorderly conduct after pleading with a mob chanting “racist pig” to calm down.

Earlier tonight I appeared on “In the Arena” with Eliot Spitzer. Neither Spitzer or Rep. Jackie Speier were fully forthcoming in the facts about federal funding for abortions. I also wish that the times Rep. Speier repeatedly interrupted me were shown as well in the original take, finally prompting my response in the video below, but content must adhere to a clock during broadcast.

Let’s set the record straight and stop this fallacy from continuing further.

The Hyde Amendment is not a permanent, static law. It is a rider that has been attached to budgets previously and was passed by Obama and Democrats in 2009. The Dornan Amendment, also known as the D.C. Hyde Amendment, had language that prevented D.C. taxpayer support of abortion. The omnibus bill, passed by Democrats and signed into law in 2009 by President Obama, overturned the language which prevented taxpayers in Washington D.C. from funding abortions.

The CR proposed by Speaker Boehner would reinstate this, thus keeping with precedence of passing the Dornan Amendment with previous budgets (Obama himself twice supported it as a senator).

I think everyone always knew that CNN only recruited Kathleen Parker for “Parker Spitzer” as an effort to somehow make it socially acceptable to introduce a man known nationally only for prostitutes as a TV personality and anchor envisioned to match O’Reilly and Olbermann.  After all, a CNN source quoted by New York Magazine said Parker was chosen because “a young, beautiful co-host wouldn’t work” with Captain Black Socks.  Someone forgot to tell Kathleen Parker, who apparently has been increasingly frustrated by producers allowing Spitzer to dominate the program.

The New York Post reported Wednesday that Parker “actually stormed off the set of the ‘Parker Spitzer’ show during a pre-taping a few weeks ago — furious that her co-host is continually allowed to take charge of their nightly CNN chat-fest, the insiders said.”  More importantly, she’s threatening to leave the program.

Now that I’ve had a chance to watch CNN’s “Right on the Edge” documentary, I’m happy to comment. I apologize for not saying anything sooner, but don’t want to comment until I have all the facts at my disposal.

As you can imagine in our line of work, we get lots of leads, ideas, schemes and “punked” style plans sent to us all the time. If you were to roam through my personal emails there are many outrageous plans, some parts of which I may approve of in principal with an “I like it” in an email thread. But I may well object to a host of things about the plan, though I like the objective.

When the CNN idea was pitched to me, I’ll admit that I liked the basic absurdity of meeting Abbie Boudreau on a boat and the idea of counter-seduction satire executed in a tame, humorous, non-threatening manner. After all, as all liberal reporters do, she was trying to “seduce” (a metaphor) me so she could get more for her story. It would be fun, I thought, to turn the tables in jest. However, I was repulsed by the over-the-top language and symbolism that was suggested in the memo that was sent to me, and never considered that for a moment.

In my version, the reporter was never going to be placed in a threatening situation. She would have had to consent before being filmed and she was not going to be faux “seduced” unless she wanted to be.  If a CNN reporter would be willing to engage in such a folly, it might even be more newsworthy than Rick Sanchez’s firing.  (CNN also has Elliot Spitzer on payroll. Basement-rated CNN announced yesterday that disgraced former New York Governor Eliot Spitzer and “conservative” columnist Kathleen Parker will co-host a new political talk show at 8 p.m. Regulated by the Federal Communications Commission, CNN should hold its airways to a higher standard and not give an open platform to an admitted john and sex trafficker.

Eliot Spitzer, aka “Client No. 9,” broke numerous state and federal laws, but has never taken responsibility for his actions, nor shown any real remorse. The once-dreaded “Sheriff of Wall Street” was reduced to droning his resignation in front of a microphone while his long-suffering, grim-lipped wife looked on — a familiar trope for those involved in Democrat politics.

Joe Klein, President of CNN and Spitzer’s close friend, demonstrates an utter lack of morality by putting Spitzer on the national airwaves at all, much less during the family hour at 8 p.m. How can parents teach their children about consequences to their actions when Spitzer breaks laws and gets his own TV show?
