The objective of Media Matters For America (MMFA) is to tell half-truths, spin, distort and well … let’s face it, they will do anything except deal with the facts in order to try and discredit anyone who disagrees with the Progressive agenda as outlined by their favorite rich guy, George Soros, the “Dude” of “Spooky.” But you have to hand it to them, sometimes they are so creative in their methods.

Take their homepage from the other day:

Looking at the screen shot, one would think that they would present proof that Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and Andrew Breitbart are being disingenuous about their “birther” positions. But when you open up to the items inside it becomes reminiscent of that old song from Sesame Street,

One of these things is not like the others,
One of these things just doesn’t belong,
Can you tell which thing is not like the others
By the time I finish my song?

In the article teased by the cover story Hannity is mentioned 18x, Limbaugh is mentioned 20x and Andrew Breitbart is mentioned….wait let me count…ah zero times. Breitbart is showcased in the picture, right there over headline, but he isn’t part of the story about flip-flopping about the “birther” issue.

Giving MMFA the benefit of the doubt (something they don’t practice) I considered the possibility that the author of the article forgot to put in the Breitbart quotes, leading me to check Breitbart’s websites for “birther” content.

NPR Executive Vivian Schiller is gone, but the problem of raging anti-conservative bias in government funded radio and TV still remains. Don’t believe me? I’m the one who was effectively banned from PBS because of my loud, proud pro-troop support on Judy Woodruff’s show.

…On the May 21 edition of Fox News’ Hannity & Colmes, conservative radio host and Move America Forward chairman Melanie Morgan addressed a May 17 statement by Linda Winslow, executive producer of Public Broadcasting Service’s The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer, in response to viewer complaints regarding the discussion between Morgan and VoteVets.org chairman Jon Soltz on the May 8 edition of the NewsHour. Winslow wrote: “Since the program is produced live, we can’t do much to eliminate rude guests from your television screen once the segment has begun; what we can do is guarantee you will never see that person on our program again.” On Hannity, Morgan accused Media Matters for America — which published a May 9 item on Morgan’s NewsHour appearance — of encouraging “their people” to call PBS and get her banned from the network. Morgan further stated: “I am demanding an apology from Linda Winslow, because this is a woman who clearly is lying about the situation.” Morgan also asserted: “PBS has a blatant anti-conservative bias. They don’t want to hear a proud pro-American, pro-troop point of view,” adding, “I think that … PBS should be ashamed of itself.”

In introducing the segment, co-host Sean Hannity stated: “In an action that reeks of censorship, PBS’ signature broadcast, The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer, effectively banned conservative radio host Melanie Morgan from any future appearances.” Hannity was referring to Winslow’s statement, which appeared in PBS ombudsman Michael Getler’s column on May 17.

Don’t forget Juan Williams, a liberal who made the “mistake” of saying exactly what he thought and was fired as a result. (more…)

Yesterday Andrew Breitbart appeared on Hannity and CNN’s John King USA to discuss NAACP racism and the firing of Shirley Sherrod:

***

Breitbart’s argument is simple and straightforward: Regardless of what else is in Sherrod’s speech, the first video released on BigGovernment.com features Sherrod telling a tale of racism that is received by the NAACP audience with laughter and cheers. They weren’t cheering redemption; they were cheering discrimination. Upon hearing the cheers, Sherrod fails to offer any immediate clarification and even smiles right along with them.

Breitbart’s main objective by releasing the video was to call out the NAACP, an organization who has recently gone to great lengths to condemn the Tea Party’s alleged racism, for sanctioning racism in it’s own organization. Sherrod immediately became the scapegoat for the embarrassed NAACP and USDA, but she was never the target, the NAACP itself was, and the delight the audience took in the racist part of Sherrod’s speech leaves them exposed. In my book Red Hot Lies, I dedicated chapter one to the media’s gullibility, and worse, in enabling the global warming industry. Media service to weather or climatic panics goes back more than a century. One particularly amusing anecdote is the Los Angeles Times, which was among many outlets seizing on the fear of frozen stuff on the heels of the Titanic’s sinking at the hands of an iceberg, digging up an academic to say that the expanding ice would soon consume us all.

OK, so that’s just yellow journalism. And of course there’s the absurd slop-slash-ignorance in slavishly toeing the alarmist line. For example, in 2008 NBC showed B-roll footage of penguins to add the texture of charismatic fauna to a story claiming that Arctic ice melt of 2007 was destroying the Arctic (whose “past the point of no return” ice mass has, ahem, returned).

The real news story was how the hell those birds might have gotten to the other side of the planet from where they live. Two months later, NBC showed polar bears in a story about a supposedly melting (but according to observations, actually ice-mass gaining) Antarctic. Again, school kids would spot these errors. UPDATE: The bounty is now $100,000 for any audio/video footage of the N-word being hurled at Congressmen John Lewis and Andre Carson.

After 14 months of committing 100% to health care reform, the day after the signing of the Health Care bill was to mark the Democratic Party’s new primary concern: destroy the uprising, annihilate by all means necessary, the Tea Party movement.

The first sign that a plan was in place was the ham-fisted, high-camp posturing of the most controversial members of the Democratic caucus walking through the peaceful but animated “Tea Party” demonstrators on Capitol Hill. There is no reason for these elected officials to walk above ground through the media circus amid their ideological foes. The natural route is the tunnels between the House office buildings and the Capitol. By crafting a highly symbolic walk of the Congressional Black Caucus through the majority white crowd, the Democratic Party was looking to provoke a negative reaction. They didn’t get it. So they made it up.

The proof that the N-word wasn’t said once, let alone 15 times, as Rep. Andre Carson claimed, is that soon thereafter — even though the press dutifully reported it as truth — Nancy Pelosi followed the alleged hate fest, which allegedly included someone spitting, by walking through the crowd with a gavel in hand and a shit-eating grin on her face. Had the incidents reported by the Congressional Black Caucus actually occurred the Capitol Police would have been negligent to allow the least popular person to that crowd – the Speaker – to put herself in harm’s way.

That crowd was a sea of new-media equipment. Not only were tens of thousands people armed with handicams, BlackBerrys and iPods, so also was the mainstream media there, covering every inch of the event. Why did not one mainstream media outlet raise the specter that perhaps a video would exist to prove the events occurred? I am still dealing with the same press telling me we didn’t prove that ACORN was aiding and abetting criminal activity because we “did not provide enough audio and video evidence.” (Insert laugh track.) Is there not a blatant double standard at play here? Nancy Pelosi tipped her hand that race was a central part of her strategy. She invoked the Civil Rights Act and compared it with the universally reviled health care bill. Her caucus is doubling down on the civil-rights rhetoric. There are no coincidences.

Tonight on “Hannity,” James O’Keefe gave his first public interview since his arrest in New Orleans:

“It’s journalism malpractice”

UPDATE: HuffPo corrected the post but did not post an update aknowleding a previous version of the story contained false information.

huffington post

Moments ago the Huffington Post published an article by Lila Shapiro that requires a correction:

On Monday night, conservative activist and alleged wiretapper James O’Keefe went on Hannity to give his first interview since getting arrested in the New Orleans office of Senator Mary Landrieu (D-La.).

It is provably false to claim any allegations of wiretapping.  There are also no allegations of any wiretap plot in the FBI affidavit that was released early last week, and a law enforcement official has conceded that the four men were not attempting to wiretap or intercept calls.  In addition, legal representation for the accused has gone on record stating there were no intentions to tap phones in the Senator’s office.

Furthermore, Shapiro sources the term “alleged wiretapper” to an Associated Press article that contains no mention of wiretapping or bugging.  The source is bogus and the term “alleged wiretapper” goes wholly unverified.

Last week, we requested the Huffington Post correct this post by Jonathan Turley.  That correction is still outstanding.

Please issue corrections/retractions to these stories post haste.
