We’ve seen it all before.

Gay rights activists equating their modern-day fight for ‘equality’ to post-slavery oppression of blacks. Muslim activists equating justified terror law enforcement investigation to racial profiling of blacks. The obese even formed a group complaining they were being discriminated against like blacks. When it comes time to beg for attention, victims choose black people to compare their woeful experiences to, even though the comparisons are insultingly inaccurate.

The latest group seeking civil-rights props are illegal aliens via Russell Contreras of the Associated Press.

They gather on statehouse steps with signs and bullhorns, risking arrest. They attend workshops on civil disobedience and personal storytelling, and they hold sit-ins and walk out of class in protest. They’re being warned that they could even lose their lives.

“… they could even lose their lives.” Just who could we be talking about? (more…)

Unfortunately, the mainstream media (MSM) in their coverage of Arizona isn’t telling the whole story.  This battle has been portrayed as a racial issue, when in fact, it is not at all.

As the originator of the BUYcott concept, I have been asked to speak at BUYcott events in recent weeks.  This allowed me to spend time in shops, restaurants, and hotels in Arizona, and to speak to many people of all races regarding SB1070.  I put on my investigator hat and even I was surprised at how little we really know about the situation on the ground in Arizona.

  • LIE #1:  Most minorities are opposed to SB 1070 because they are afraid of being unfairly accused, stopped, racially profiled, or in some way inconvenienced or abused.

The facts:  The hotel where we stayed had Native Americans, Latinos, Hispanics, Middle Easterners, and Asians.  I used my down time to interview them about SB 1070 and I was shocked to learn that not one person I spoke with of any national or ethnic origin was opposed to SB 1070.

They know that dangerous terrorists have established an entire entry strategy utilizing the advantage of our broken borders, and as one Native American told me, “I would rather be asked for my ID than have my people blown to bits by a terrorist.”

Simple enough. (more…)

A recent opinion article by Richard Greener and George Kenney in the L.A. Times ponders why the census is counting illegals and the problems this may cause with congressional-seat allocation.  As if it wasn’t enough for this White House — which has many problematic people in place as well as some serious and shady ethical issues — to take over the census, uneasy Americans are further irritated at the fact that they are well aware that illegals are indeed being counted.

The article makes good points, but leaves off one critical aspect in its call for leadership in Congress to fix the problem because the answer to their question was addressed back in October and November 2009.  Let’s review, very briefly. The LA Times states:

Worse yet, to the extent that the census accurately counts illegal immigrants, the greater the disproportionate representation accruing to states with large illegal communities, which cannot vote. Estimates vary, but a 2007 study by the Connecticut Data Center found that the 2010 census may affect the allocation of a dozen congressional seats on the basis of some states’ illegal immigrant populations.

Nancy Pelosi said there were protesters parading around with swastikas – it turns out she was right! The images below are a sampling from a gallery posted by AZCentral.com, covering the protests in Arizona against the passage of SB 1070.

Yes, that’s Arizona Governor Jan Brewer’s face adorned on the piñata being bashed, to the amusement of the surrounding crowd. But it’s OK – she’s a Republican after all.

And so they’re scared. Scared as we should all be, if the truth be known. The truth would have to be TOLD first, of course, and as usual the MSM is missing a great story.  What is coming? Long lines at the “medical collective?”

Yeah, that, but now that the administration has proven it can make us eat a law that nobody wants, they’re going to pull another dead rabbit out of the hat, and even the people who haven’t been paying attention feel it coming.

Amnesty.

Not for people who’ve sent angry emails to their congressman.

For illegal immigrants.

It’s already started. Obama needs to replace the millions of voters who are angry at the way the Health Bill was passed. The quickest way is an amnesty program that would make an estimated 35 million illegal immigrants instant democrat voters.

For the regular U.S. citizen who lives on or near the Southern Border with Mexico, this is not just the fodder for Sunday morning news shows and talk radio. This is something they live with. Chuckie Schumer says 15,000 people cross the border illegally every day. That number is only going to increase as the possibility of a new Amnesty grows brighter – every time the Obama Administration announces it is abandoning the “virtual fence” and cutting funding for Border Patrol and INS operations, or Los Angeles immigrant rights’ groups file lawsuits forcing requests that police “ease up” on nationality checks on arrested suspects, the message is clear:

“Welcome.” (more…)

You can dump only so much manure on a plant before it has to thrive on its own, and the same principle applies in journalism. An initiative that lacks grass roots can wither in the sun despite liberal doses of mainstream media Miracle-Gro—which explains why Air America found a more receptive audience in the press than in the public, and why Martha Burk’s protest against the men-only membership policy at Augusta National Golf Club drew fewer demonstrators (a couple dozen) than the total number of New York Times stories hyping her who-cares crusade (more than 100).

Having enjoyed seedling-of-the-month treatment in the MSM greenhouse since late February, Coffee Party USA—the supposedly less strident alternative to the Tea Party—designated Saturday its National Coffee Party Kick-off Day. With gatherings in “more than 350 coffee shops in 44 states,” according to its Web site, the fledgling political organization was hoping to make a statement. Instead, it merely raised questions, exposed truths and, worst of all, inspired ridicule.
