***UPDATE: A good six or seven hours after the report first aired, Chris Matthews apologized for MSNBC’s “bad judgment” in making this comparison.

—–

Normally, I don’t concern myself too much with MSNBC. They’re an openly liberal network and therefore the least of our problems.

As I’ve mentioned before, though, MSNBC is useful to the rest of the left-wing media in how it floats narrative trial balloons designed to damage the right, and when one of those balloons floats successfully, the rest of the MSM knows they’re safe to run with it.  Case in point, the nonsense you’ll see in the video above that has already turned into this.

A perfectly innocent moment on Romney’s part will, quite intentionally, be turned by the MSM into a one or two-day distraction until the former Massachusetts is forced to state the obvious.

This keeps Romney off message.

This keeps Romney on defense.

This allows the corrupt MSM to talk about something other than Obama’s failures and scandals.

This allows the MSM to talk about their favorite subject, this.

“There is no Grand Wizard in the party right now who can really force the issue.”

No “Grand Wizard?”

Gregory later apologized on Twitter:

Sorry, but I can’t take his apology seriously until he repeats it on air, on the same program. Posting his apology on Twitter where it’s safe to say the majority of his viewing audience won’t see it is the equivalent of running a hot mess on the front of the NYT but retracting it later on page 17a, near the footer, in a tiny, italicized font. He cheapens the apology by assuming we’re obtuse enough to believe the phrase doesn’t hold the same connotation for him as it does to the rest of America. I know of no other group which employs a “Grand Wizard” but one. Gregory was speaking of a black Republican in relation to the GOP’s strategy; there is no explanation. If he “wasn’t thinking,” then it’s sad he possesses such a Pavlovian reflex to associate the KKK with the GOP.

Last weekend, I had the privilege of attending the “Restoring Honor” rally in Washington, D.C. While I’m proud to be an American each and every day, I was especially proud on that day. The feeling I had being amongst so many people that love and appreciate the blessings of liberty was at times overwhelming. The purpose of the event was simple. We wanted to express our love for our nation and dedicate ourselves to practicing the values that has made it so strong. Unfortunately, this simple lesson appears to be impossible for liberals and the media to comprehend.

The media coverage and the liberal spin stopped short of calling the event a Ku Klux Klan rally, attended by racist tea partiers whose sole purpose is to suppress minorities, destroy the environment and worship big business. To no surprise, all the media coverage reflected this tired narrative. As usual with the media, they got it all wrong.

There’s no denying that the majority of the attendees were white — but then, so is the majority of America. Blacks were free to attend and many of us did but for some reason the media chose not to show us. There is no surprise that the liberals once again have terribly flawed logic. Consider this. I went to a predominantly black college. Whites are free to go to school there. Despite being heavily recruited in many cases, many still choose to get their educations elsewhere. Many black colleges offer scholarships specifically for white students. Does this make black colleges racist for not having more white students? The point is that the lack of attendance isn’t the same as exclusion. (more…)

Diane Sawyer is a racist. Matt Lauer is a racist. Charlie Gibson is a racist. Wolf Blitzer is a racist. Katie Couric is a racist. Kiran Chetry is a racist. Chris Matthews is a racist. Ed Schultz is a racist. Keith Olbermann is a racist. Gary Tuchman is a racist. Elizabeth Vargas is a racist. Sharyl Attkisson is a racist. Anderson Cooper is a racist. George Stephanopoulos is a racist. David Gregory is a racist. Chuck Todd is a racist. Rick Sanchez is a racist. Melissa Stark is a racist, and for those of you whom I left out (personnel and outlets), it’s just due to space.

Not only that, but they want racial violence. It’ll be a great story, it’ll help their chosen political party, and maybe even discredit some conservative talkers.

Now, I’m sure the aforementioned big heads may be all offended. Tough.

How does it feel?

Almost every broadcast and cable news entity repeats the action line that the Tea Party is racist. They’ve done so without any hard evidence, in fact they had to rely on Think Progress to Photoshop racist signs and the failed Crash The Tea Party losers to smear a whole group of Americans as evil haters. With the looming Glenn Beck “Restoring Honor” rally at the Lincoln Memorial, the professional news media is doing what it does best: select and disseminate the news they agree with and thus to us it to tarnish those they don’t.

And all it takes are willing dupes…. (more…)

It seems that some within the Mainstream Media have been trying to send the American public a clear message, “It is time for you to get over the 9-11 attacks.”

A majority of Americans have always seen the attacks of 9-11 as being on par with the attack upon Pearl Harbor since the dual attacks happened within our nation.

The members of the Mainstream Media always saw the attacks as the defining moment of the much-hated Bush Presidency. Now that another of President Obama’s teachable moments has blown up in his face, some of the Mainstream Media have sought to portray the growing opposition to a Community Center/ Mosque, two blocks from Ground Zero as an issue of racism and religious freedom.

From the Daily Kos to Fox news Contributor Bob Beckel, 9-11 victims, first responders and Americans have been attacked for not supporting the project and/or not simply getting over the attacks some nine years later. The Daily Kos went as far as to compare car accidents to 9-11 boasting that, “It was only 3,000 people come on, as more people die in car accidents yearly! (more…)

As the November mid-term elections draw near, race arsonists’ political distractions are seen in full action.  Facing defeat at the polls, the Left is desperately resorting to its only remaining trick.

With different styles and brands of utopian-driven influence — from the dependent welfare state of the American Democratic party, the socialism of Marxist/Leninists’ Workers’ Paradise, the Open Society of Soros’ idol Karl Popper, or any of the current collective salvations of social justice — examining the tactics as they occur is an enlightening exercise.

On Sunday’s This Week, President Obama’s defacto spokesman, V.P. Joe Biden, was sent to poison the well. Host Jake Tapper asked, “The NAACP had a convention in the last week, and they passed a resolution saying that elements of the Tea Party are racist. Do you think elements of the Tea Party are racist?”

The presidential reply is as follows:

Well, the truth is that at least elements that were involved in some of the Tea Party folks expressed racist views, you saw that on television. But, I don’t think — I don’t — I wouldn’t characterize the Tea Party as racist.

There are individuals who are either members of or on the periphery of some of their things, their — their protests — that have expressed really unfortunate comments. And, again, it was all over TV, all over your network, you know? A black Congressman walking up the stairs of the Capitol.

BushByrd

Treading carefully while not speaking ill of the dead, obvious questions should be asked in the ramp-up to our traditional glorification of elected royalty.

How would the media and liberal establishment today react to a GOP politician who was a former Klan recruiter? Seems to me a Republican with such a past would have been rightfully destroyed in the media prior to a primary, let alone sit unscathed by past associations long enough to be the longest sitting United States Senator.

In an attempt of post mortem damage control, CNN is covering for the legacy of Senator Byrd by including his quote that joining the Klan was “the greatest mistake of my life”, while showing little outrage of his 14 hour, 13 minute filibuster to kill the 1964 Civil Rights Act, which Democrats falsely and brazenly claim to have always supported. Without Noah Webster’s knowledge, the definition of a “racist” has been diluted and redefined to mean “a person who disagrees with a liberal,” or in more explicit terms, “any individual who uses logic to divulge evidence of liberal malfeasance.”  For years, the left has used race as a bully tactic to smear and debunk those on the receiving end of the label.  This desperate and exploitative attempt at winning political arguments comes at a great cost to democracy, interpersonal relations and our nation’s internal progress.

The latest James O’Keefe saga exemplifies the left’s common practice of exploiting the issue of race for personal and political gain.  Liberal journalist Max Blumenthal’s devoid-of-logic theoretical construct (that O’Keefe is a racist) exemplifies the desperate measures some will take to avoid the pains of reality.  Blumenthal bases his racism charge on O’Keefe’s alleged disdain for affirmative action, his efforts to expose ACORN and his attendance at an event that featured a “white nationalist.”

The merits of these accusations have already been brilliantly challenged by Larry O’Connor and others, but to quickly provide summary thoughts: Opposition to affirmative action is not inherently racist.  In fact, the majority of Americans oppose affirmative action practices.  Furthermore, even if O’Keefe is a racist (which he’s not), the allegations against ACORN would still be pertinent; the organization is responsible for its behavior regardless of who or what O’Keefe is said to be.  Finally, the “white nationalist” event was essentially a panel discussion on a college campus.  Thousands of universities hold events with controversial speakers and wingnuts (many of these fringe individuals are, themselves, college professors); mere attendance means nothing in itself.
