- John McCain’s Romney oppo file makes its way to the Internet. Will the media now begin to talk about some of the troubling things in Romney’s record, or will they “Obama him” and allow a candidate to skate through the primary with little vetting — except what the candidates can push through before they’re jumped on and called “mean?” The media doesn’t want to vet Romney now; they’re holding their fire in the event he becomes the nominee, after which they will unload.

- New media turns on Hollywood with SOPA.

- HuffPo is planning an online news network. Dramatic air quotes for “news.”

According to Forbes‘ Jeff Bercovici, HuffPost is following in the footsteps of the Wall Street Journal, and launching a live online news channel, possibly called the Huffington Post Streaming Network, or HSPN for short.

I’m not a birther, but the left is not helping their cause by hysterically mischaracterizing anyone who disagrees with the President on policy – or even asks why it took him three years to release a birth certificate – as a racist.

Yesterday morning during our CNN discussion on the birth certificate issue, James Carville said that the birther issue is a census of idiocy for America. I disagree. Playing the race card is the census of idiocy in America.

Yahoo has graciously provided the example.

The article begins by acknowledging how many Democrats questioned John McCain’s birth in the Panama Canal zone. Apparently, it isn’t racist to question that of McCain. Despite Yahoo’s best effort to sweep this forced acknowledgment under the rug with a simple “but that died down,” it in fact, did not die down because the left was satisfied with the answer (they made a sensational amount of hoopla over the issue). It died down because the left was both faced with the hypocrisy of making a charge while claiming offense over the same charge and they wanted to be the only victim for sympathy and fundraising. The media did more to cover John McCain’s birther story and George Bush’s SAT scores than it did evaluating Obama’s backstory, like they’ve done with past presidents. That’s what this is truly about.

Inside the political vacuum, the headline story on Drudge was none other than Obama’s birth certificate.  It’s the story that just won’t go away–and it won’t go away until Obama himself releases the long-form document.  But with the coming release on May 17 of Jerome Corsi’s Where’s the Birth Certificate continued questions will either be answered or remain inconclusive.  However, no matter what the media says about the issue, people are curious as Corsi’s book hit the Amazon charts hard and fast today.

While I won’t rehash all of the issues here, I will note, for the record, that the left started the birther issue (and continually attacked McCain) and Obama is also a McCain birther as he co-sponsored the Senate Resolution declaring McCain a natural born citizen–clearly understanding the difference between being a US citizen and being a natural born US citizen and its importance.

Now that that’s out of the way, I’ve been watching the brouhaha that Donald Trump is causing and he is not backing down–that’s obvious.  But during these interviews, it makes me wonder why the MSM so aggressively attacks anyone who even dares come close to this issue–even now–after they seemingly put it to rest.  What are they afraid of–what might they find?  And was Oprah wrong again?

Another question that I’d like to float:  Is Obama intentionally withholding his long-form birth certificate to continue to perpetrate the notion that those who question him are crazy giving the  media more ammo against the birthers and the right?  It wouldn’t surprise me, but with Corsi’s evidence that may not be the case.

Finally, has the MSM, out of its allegiance to the Democrat party, missed the biggest story in the history of this country?  And one thing you can be assured, the left will dissect and fact check Corsi’s book until the pages fall out, but will they be able to defend their position on the record?  What they do with the information in Corsi’s book will probably need an extra large bucket of popcorn with butter because dare I ask this: What if the Birthers are right?

If, in a county where President Obama won 69% of the vote less than two years ago, the President cannot fill a Community College Recreational Center with a scheduled event, you might consider that to be newsworthy.  Apparently the Mainstream Media did not.

Final results from the 2008 election show President Obama won the state of Ohio by a substantial amount.  A quick check of the final numbers shows Obama with 2,933,388 votes and McCain lagging behind with 2,674,491.  An election night drubbing, in a state that was considered by many media pundits to be a “battleground state.”

ohio

Looking at the final results via the county maps of Ohio you can see where the President’s strength was centered, mostly in large cities like Cincinnati, Toledo, Columbus and of course Cleveland.  Drilling down further we find that Obama beat McCain by a huge margin in Cuyahoga Country so logically that would be a place to hold a Presidential Pep Rally kicking off the mid-term election season. After beating John McCain by better than a 2:1 margin less than two years ago, one must wonder why the President’s recent speech from Parma, Ohio did not have a full house?  Additionally one must wonder why the MSM did not pick up on this fun fact? So, thanks to the Daily Caller, more emails are emerging from “Journolist,” that secret list of liberal media hacks – and guess what, they’re about Sarah Palin.

And surprise: they aren’t positive!

sarah-palin1

First, they focused on how the media could help Obama beat McCain, after Sarah was picked as a running mate.

Jonathan Stein from Mother Jones loved the idea that the pick should be labeled sexist.

He writes: “That’s excellent! If enough people – people on this list? – write that the pick is sexist, you’ll have the networks debating it for days. And that negates the SINGLE thing Palin brings to the ticket.”

Thank God he capitalized “single!”

But my fave? Politico reporter Ben Adler, now at Newsweek, writing,

“… doesn’t leaving sad baby without its mother while she campaigns weaken that family values argument?”

Maybe so Ben, although I wonder how you know her baby is “sad.” Perhaps you could share your expertise in this area, douchebag.

So, here’s what we’ve learned so far from the leaked emails: (more…)

No matter what you think of J.D. Hayworth — former Congressman, talk-show host, anti-illegal immigration hardliner and Abramoff-scarred beneficiary — one thing you’ve got to like about him is that he is mounting a primary challenge to Sen. John McCain (R, Media) in Arizona.

That would be the head RINO-in-chief and First Amendment enemy — RIP, McCain/Feingold! — who threw the election to Barack Obama in 2008 by taking everything that was interesting and/or objectionable about the former Barry Soetoro — his past, his associates, even his name — off the table and thus gave himself exactly zero chance to win. Contrary to the lefty media spin that Sarah Palin cost McCain the election, she was the only thing that stood between him and an historic, McGovern/Mondale-style wipeout.

It was as if he wanted to lose, or something.

In an electoral season that’s already shaping up to be a graveyard for incumbents — so long Evan Bayh! — will McCain be the next to go?

Or, in the return of a nightmare scenario for Republicans, will he finally cross the aisle one last time, rejoin his former buddies in the media, and give the Democrats back their 60-vote majority?  (Hey — stranger things have happened.)

What do you think?

A major provision of the “Bipartisan Campaign Reform Act of 2002″, aka McCain-Feingold, was largely dismissed by the Supreme Court on January 21, 2010. President Obama’s reaction was swift and almost comically over the top.

With its ruling today, the Supreme Court has given a green light to a new stampede of special interest money in our politics. It is a major victory for big oil, Wall Street banks, health insurance companies and the other powerful interests that marshal their power every day in Washington to drown out the voices of everyday Americans. This ruling gives the special interests and their lobbyists even more power in Washington–while undermining the influence of average Americans who make small contributions to support their preferred candidates. That’s why I am instructing my Administration to get to work immediately with Congress on this issue. We are going to talk with bipartisan Congressional leaders to develop a forceful response to this decision. The public interest requires nothing less.

Uh-oh! Whenever they use the term “bipartisan” you know they’re trying to sucker us. It’s become as transparent as their disingenuous names for bills like the so called “Stimulus” which was supposed to fund “shovel ready jobs” and instead went to non-existent zip codes. Our unemployment rate went up dramatically.

o-biden-glare2

But why is Obama so upset about the decision? He’s upset by unions and special interests donating large sums of money to candidates? This is the president who took $60 million from SEIU members and was visited by its head, Andy Stern, more than any other person last year. Obama’s “outrage” deserves a closer look. (more…)
