On March 24, HuffPost once again revealed its subversive, hypocritical, double-jointed double standards — this time, in regards to the standards of conduct it applies to actions and statements by its authors (“bloggers”)… even off-site.

In this case, as reported by Big Journalism, HuffPost decided to punish one of its co-founders (and bloggers) Andrew Breitbart for daring to call self-professed communist (and fellow HuffPost blogger) Van Jones a “commie punk” and “a cop killer-supporting, racist, demagogic freak,” in an article at the Daily Caller. It should be noted that he said all that after Van Jones organized a petition drive against Breitbart even being allowed to post on HuffPost, in which he attacked Brietbart with a toilet-full of… ad hominem attacks.

HuffPost’s VP-Media Relations, Mario Ruiz, had nothing to say about Van Jones’ attack on Breitbart.

Regarding Breitbart’s response, however, Ruiz laid down HuffPost’s supposed “law”:

The Huffington Post is committed to fostering a lively and often provocative debate about the issues of the day and encourages a wide range of voices from all perspectives to participate. Andrew Brietbart’s ad hominem attack on Van Jones in The Daily Caller [...] violates the tenets of debate and civil discourse we have strived for since the day we launched. As a result, we will no longer feature his posts on the front page.

He is welcome to continue publishing his work on HuffPost provided it adheres to our editorial guidelines, as the two posts he published on HuffPost did — guidelines that include a strict prohibition on ad hominem attacks…

Wow, that’s some “standard” that Ruiz described. As you’re about to see, however, the facts demonstrate that Ruiz’s claims are 100% bullshit from top to bottom, inside out, back to front. (more…)

N.O.W., the National Organization of Whores, leaped into the lead for the title of most epically hypocritical organization this week. Whoops, silly me!  I mean National Organization for Women. But, as ExJon of Exurban League pointed out to me, they won’t mind being called whores, will they? I mean, they obviously have no problem with that term, otherwise a group who claims to be For the Women™ would not, you know, endorse men who slur women with that term, now would they?

brown

Of course they would. And did.

A mere 24 hours after Jerry Brown was caught calling Meg Whitman, his opponent in the race for California Governor, a “whore,” they endorsed him. Proof positive once again that Leftist feminists, including their cult-like organizations, will stop at nothing, even rewarding sexism, to further their true agenda. An agenda which is not one of concern for women at all.  To the contrary; leftist feminists actually use women, solely as a way to further this agenda. And heaven forfend if some women don’t fall for their lies nor allow themselves to be used. Then, they are called whores or brainless sex objects only. If trying to diminish one through sexualization fails, they’ll move onto trying to take her gender away totally by calling her “a big mashed up bag of meat with lipstick on it.” Or “Pat Buchanan in drag.” Or a host of other garbage spewed forth in venom-filled animus meant to demean and dehumanize the offending woman. By offending, I, of course, mean free thinking conservatives. (more…)

Transcript from the good folks at Newsbsuters:

The job has aged him, as it did his predecessors. Dr. Michael Roizen at the Cleveland Clinic stated constant stress can age the Commander in Chief two years for every one year in office.

So I guess that means he’s really turning 50.

President Obama has enough stress to last a lifetime… and as he blows out his birthday candles, war, recession and a giant oil spill won’t magically disappear.

But I hope he’s able to take a break tonight, forget his troubles and spend time doing something he loves.

We have finally reached the number one, most left-biased journalist in America today on our top ten count down and our most biased journo pick probably won’t surprise any of you. Even though she just “retired” due to her outrageous bias and hatred for Israel, we just have to give the number one most biased slot to the ever-vitriolic Ms. Helen Thomas, long time employee of United Press International (UPI) and the Hearst New Service.

Obama and Thomas

Thomas was an over 50-year employee of UPI but in the year 2000 she quit the wire service because it was bought by News World Communications which is affiliated with the Unification Church. She was proud of herself, though, because according to her she was “never, never accused of bias” in her reporting.

I worked for United Press International for more than fifty years, and I wrote straight copy. I was never, never accused of bias. I did not bow out of the human race. I permitted myself to care, to believe, to think. But I assure you, I assure you that it did not get in my copy.

But that isn’t what her record says. Bias was epidemic throughout. In May of 2000 the MRC went back and found at least half a dozen instances where Thomas readily revealed her bias. Instances range from Ronald Reagan’s days in office up to the year 2000 when she quit UPI.

The MRC found in part: (more…)

A former Vietnam veteran wanted the American people to know just how easy it was for illegal aliens to cross our southern border, so he set up cameras along the route and posted the video on his website. Many people came to his website, borderinvasionpics.com (BIP), including the local CBS affiliate in Phoenix, KPHO.

border invasion

The affiliate was obviously so impressed with what they saw, they downloaded and used some of the video in a sympathetic piece on illegal aliens.

However, instead of obeying the rules of Journalism 101 and giving proper attribution to the person whose time and effort went into the creation of the ’shocking’ video, KPHO edited the footage into their own piece, zoomed in and cropped out the BIP logo and copyright, and inserted their CBS logo giving the viewing public the false impression the footage was a result of many months of hard work.

Well, surprise, surprise. The Media Research Center released a study yesterday that says by a margin of twelve to one, the coverage has been heavily negative: ABC, CBS, and NBC all are ripping Arizona’s immigration law.  Anyone who follows this site or others like it won’t find this figure shocking, but it does illustrate how a law in one individual state (remember that Federalism thing?) that’s quite popular with the American people can create such controversy. Guess  it doesn’t really matter what the people think when the media is a subsidiary of Big Brother.

liberal media bias

So here’s how it works: the media takes a popular law that doesn’t fit perfectly with their PC mindset, they lie about it, rinse and repeat, get The Man himself to weigh in, and presto!  The law suddenly becomes “controversial.”

Now, there is a debate to be had on this law, and there is some inherent controversy in it to be sure, but the media hysteria certainly makes for a teachable moment in just how biased the media can be when they put their minds to it.

Think there’s been a media campaign to disparage and marginalize the grassroots Tea Party movement, almost from its inception, especially by the major networks? Think the coverage has been blatantly slanted and made to fit the liberal narrative?  Well, maybe you’re not crazy

The Media Research Center is just out with this analysis:

The Tea Party movement launched one year ago, in response to the unprecedented expansion of government by President Barack Obama and congressional liberals, a massive increase in spending that will create economy-crushing fiscal burdens for future generations of taxpayers.

In that relatively brief period, the Tea Party has demonstrated it is a formidable political force. The pressure the movement brought to bear at the grassroots level put liberals on the defensive for much of the health care debate, and nearly succeeded in torpedoing the entire scheme in spite of Democrats’ overwhelming congressional majorities. And Tea Party activists proved decisive in a string of electoral defeats for liberals, culminating in Republican Scott Brown’s victory in the special election to succeed Ted Kennedy in the U.S. Senate.

TeaPartySmall

So how have the supposedly objective media covered one of the biggest political stories in recent years? MRC analysts reviewed every mention of the Tea Party on the ABC, CBS and NBC morning and evening newscasts, Sunday talk shows, and ABC’s Nightline from February 19, 2009 (when CNBC contributor Rick Santelli first suggested throwing a “Tea Party” to protest government takeovers) through March 31, 2010. Among the major findings: (more…)
