The Obama wave becoming a riptide.

Having spent much of my youth surfing the waters of Huntington and Newport Beaches, I worked hard to spot them where I could and I hoped beyond hope that I would find the right one with the perfect curl. It required a keen eye and deft instincts.

There is a wave is growing on the horizon against Barack Obama and I can see the swell starting to build.

Certainly the Tea Party movement has been an indicator of the water rising against this administration, but that has been clear and plain for all to see—who want to see. The American left and their compliant media will never see that 10-footer because they don’t want to see it. They don’t believe it, they discount it, and they try to destroy it. They missed that wave that the local surfers, who know the water well, were able to spot easily and ride to the shore.

There is a new wave out there right now, breaking in a different direction. This one is coming from the left.

Mort Zuckerman, Jeffery Immelt, Barbara Streisand, and other major Obama supporters have switched and gone “goofy footed” all of a sudden. (more…)

Zuckerman owns and publishes the New York Daily News and owns U.S. News and World Report. Perhaps someone didn’t pass Zuckerman the memo that if you want to be a responsible publisher and give your readership the impression they are subscribing to publications that produce unbiased journalism, you don’t get to write speeches for the President.  And, if you are President of the United States and you want to assure your public that you aren’t using the media as a propaganda arm, you don’t deputize the mainstream press to write your speeches.

But, Marc Ambinder of the Atlantic reports “Obama’s aides don’t remember consulting with Zuckerman.” (more…)

spending freeze? That’s the brilliant response of the Obama team to their first serious political setback?

It’s appalling on every level.

And it’s a betrayal of everything Obama’s supporters thought they were working for.

Some among the heaviest of Obama Kool-Aid drinkers are awakening to the performance gap between the campaign myth of Obama versus the reality of his inability to govern. America’s Fourth Great Awakening has begun.

Historians widely recognize three Great Awakenings. The First Great Awakening (1730’s-1740’s) spread across the United Kingdom and the Colonies with a religious fervor among what became the mainline Protestant denominations: Baptists, Methodists, Presbyterians, etc. The Second (1790-1840’s) witnessed Christian conversions, camp meetings, and evangelical excitement giving birth to the Holiness movement and, indirectly, the spread of a new sect – the Mormons. The Third (1840’s-1900’s), interrupted by the Civil War, was a period of religious enthusiasm that fostered social activism, as illustrated by the Social Gospel Movement.

Today, we’re entering the Fourth Great Awakening. It’s the revival of the Obama Kool-Aid drinkers from their stupor of infatuation with candidate Barack Obama. Mort Zuckerman is their new poster boy, and his newfound sobriety is clearly painful for him. (more…)
