Charles Key is a one-man truth squad.

The Oklahoma state legislator – who has been a tireless investigator of the Oklahoma City bombing and champion of the Tenth Amendment – was recently misrepresented in an Associated Press report on Tea Parties, militias, and Sooner State lawmakers.

And he’s speaking up about it – loudly, but civilly.

You may recall that Key’s colleague, state senator Randy Brogdon, was falsely typecast just last week by the same AP as a backwoods gun nut – eager to use force against the federal government.

In the same article, AP reporters Sean Murphy and Tim Talley wrote that Key claimed there was a “good chance” that legislation for a state-authorized militia would be introduced in 2011.

Guess what? That was a complete fabrication. (more…)

Last week, Oklahoma state senator Randy Brogdon (R), who is also a serious candidate for governor, inadvertently set off a national firestorm, courtesy of the Associated Press’s egregiously distorting his words.

An article by Sean Murphy and Tim Talley, about tea parties and militias (funny, how those two entities are conveniently linked together), implied that Sen. Brogdon, who was elected to office in 2002, is eager to help launch a kinder-and-gentler version of the Hutaree milita chapter. Or, something to that effect.

The AP story noted that state miltia supporters have chatted up the Senator, and that he acknowledged (correctly), that the Second Amendment allows for a “citizen unit.” Now here’s the colorful quote that got tongues a-wagging and keyboards a-clicking:

The founding fathers ‘were not referring to a turkey shoot or a quail hunt. They really weren’t even talking about us having the ability to protect ourselves against each other,’ Brogdon said. ‘The second Amendment deals directly with the right of an individual to keep and bear arms to protect themselves from an overreaching federal government.’

In watching countless hours of debate over “healthcare” rarely, if ever, do I hear the U.S.  Constitution mentioned in the discussion.  I was speaking at event recently when a very eloquent and entertaining doctor got up and spoke of the dangers of this bill – to her industry and the American people. Agreed 100% with everything Dr. Daliah Wachs said. She knocked it out of the park and used humor and brilliance. We need people who understand those specifics, and she does. I’m no doctor, but I do know our Founding Documents. Following her speech I stood up and said, “I don’t like the thing because it’s not constitutional!” The crowd went crazy.

Constitution

The Constitution resonates. The Constitution, when used properly, connects with the American people. We’ve spent 100 years running away from this inspired document, it’s long past time that we began our sprint back toward it. (more…)

Isn’t this special? The leftist activist media boobs (LAMBS) are talking about how transparent President Barack Obama is by televising today’s “Made for TV HealthCare Event.” The media has doubled down on the charade by saying that Obama was fulfilling a “campaign promise of transparency.” What? Have the LAMBS not been paying attention for the last year? Transparency is happening now only because Democrats got their trash handed to ‘em.

Let’s provide a little help to my friends in the media. I’ll make it simple. Obama and the Democrats have worked for the last year at shutting out Republicans. Closed-door meetings, only Democrats, only Democrats. Republicans weren’t invited and weren’t even told when and where the meetings would be held.  There were no cameras in the meetings and we were not told much of what happened. I wrote about this last month.

Republicans proposed three bills last year and none of them even got out of Committee. They were never considered. The LAMBS ignore this fact and still smile as they call Republicans the party of no. They were told no by the Democrats three times. Is that what the LAMBS mean, by the party of no? Republicans kept hearing no.  Said Obama of today’s meeting:

I don’t want to see this meeting turn into political theater. (more…)
