From the start of the Occupy Freak Street movement the media compared the protests to the tea party.

Based on jealousy over the movement that captured the nation prior to the November 2010 elections and since, the media wanted desperately to have protests they could relate to and promote. The tea party certainly was not that, so protecting #OWS has been their mission.

The protestors are making it harder and harder for the media to do that.

Take the Occupy Oakland protestors who attacked a KGO TV cameraman who was there to “shoot” a murder scene at one of the protests (wait–a murder scene at supposedly peaceful protests?).

Cameraman (or photojournalist, if you wish) Randy Davis was attacked by about a dozen men and he suffered a mild concussion and bumps and bruises.

It has also been reported that the protesters formed a human shield around the victim, possibly keeping the person from getting the medical help needed to possibly save his life if the occasion had been that severe. Accomplices, anyone?

The rap sheet at Occupy Bizarre Street continues to grow. The media has put itself in a pickle. Do they ignore these protests because they have become too embarrassing, do they try to paint them as something they are not, or do they continue to make them seem mainstream–or all of the above? Certainly, that’s what they’ve been doing for most of the time during these protests. (more…)

The mainstream media, embarrassed by the violence of yesterday’s Occupy Oakland protests, is desperately trying to save the image of the movement it has propped up as an ostensibly legitimate voice of populist support for economic redistribution and a liberal alternative to the Tea Party.

Almost uniformly, media reports today about the violence at the “general strike”–including vandalism, clashes with police, and burning barricades–have attempted to describe the Occupy Oakland demonstration as “largely peaceful.”

When the media have described violent acts, they have suggested, unreasonably, that these have been separate from the Occupy Oakland protests. The media seem uninterested in holding Occupy Oakland organizers responsible for the violence, or even in asking them for statements of condemnation.

National Public Radio’s report on the Occupy Oakland violence is typical of today’s mainstream media spin but hardly unique (as Stanley Kurtz points out, citing CBS coverage).

There’s quiet now in the streets of Oakland, the local Tribune reports.

But what began as a “mostly peaceful” general strike that “drew thousands Wednesday for rallies and marches … turned chaotic early Thursday after protesters took over a vacant building and police moved in, firing tear gas and flashbang grenades.”

Note that the violence is described–misleadingly–as having started after the “general strike” protest. And note that the Occupy Oakland activists themselves are never blamed directly.

Instead, we are told–much later in the story–that “Oakland protesters inspired by the Occupy Wall Street movement” were responsible. Inspired by, but not belonging to, Occupy.

Stop all the madness in the tea party movement

The list goes on and on. Message received: The Tea Party is violent.

Meanwhile, there is a movement of vagrants and vagabonds who have taken to the streets in what some have deemed a “counter-Tea Party” movement known as Occupy Wall Street. And while I applaud their exercise of free speech, it’s hard to ignore how the media treats elements of violence in their ranks versus the Tea Party.

For instance, when a Fox 5 reporter was told by an Occupier that he was going to stab in him in the throat, the media was quick to jump to the movement’s defense:

This person is not representative of the overhaul…the over…the overall group here.

[...]

The folks in there, they’ve been gracious, they’ve been accommodating, um, they’ve answered all our questions.  I think not only myself but some of the other … the other reporters. So again, I don’t think this person represents the whole but it’s part of an element that uh, that officials, NYPD officials and city officials have been concerned about.  Some people, coming here for the accommodations, to sleep here for free food and that kind of thing.

I know if I were the victim of a threat and ran into such indifference from the group’s organizers, I’d be pretty annoyed if that was the response from the media.  Those quotes seem to show an unwillingness to even consider whether or not there is a larger issue pervading the protests.  But so ingrained is the thought process that those quotes actually come from the victim himself, John Huddy, who seemed to spend more time discussing the merits and good nature of the people that comprised Occupy Wall Street, while trying to make as clear as possible to the viewers at home that the death threat was in no way reflective of the movement at large.

***Updated 12/9/2011– Today we hit incident 417.

New commentary has been added. Original commentary can be found below the Rap Sheet.

Don’t let the MSM get away with lying to you. Obama and the Democrats are all on record endorsing, embracing, encouraging and emboldening #OccupyWallStreet.

Obama on Occupy Wall Street: ‘We Are on Their Side’

House Democrats Endorse Occupy Wall Street

Top Democrats Endorse Occupy Wall Street Protests

Pelosi Supports Occupy Wall Street Movement

——

The plan was a simple one. The path to Obama’s second term requires that enough voters forget that our current economic woes are the fault of a failed President who enjoyed two years of having every single item on his wish-list passed by Congress. And so the idea was to create Occupy in order to give the MSM the cover they desired to spend every single day up until the election talking about greed and income inequality in order to blame both for the stagnant economy.

The hope was that by repeating this message incessantly, enough voters could be convinced that Wall Street, and by extension, evil Republicans, were to blame for our chronic unemployment, record deficits, and stillborn economic growth. President Obama who?

—–

Fortunately for America, this plan has not only failed miserably it has backfired completely. Thanks to the rise of New Media and our unwillingness to let the MSM’s lies, bias, and cover ups stand for even one more day, Occupy is in its death throes and might take the President and Democratic party down with it. First and foremost, we uncovered the lie that Occupy was grassroots and then we exposed every Occupy rape, poop, death, overdose, old woman thrown down the stairs, attack on a police officer, and public act of masturbation. In the process, public opinion turned against the Occupiers and as a result these Leftists have started doing what the Left always does when they lose … have a tantrum:

Recently, President Obama said that the Occupiers are just like the Tea Party.

That’s a lie.

We need to keep this list updated and comprehensive. Please email whatever I might have missed and any future incidents to jnolte@breitbart.com or tweet them to @NolteNC.

One of the secret weapons the corrupt mainstream media uses in their never-ending quest to Palace Guard for the left is context. For example, when it came to the Tea Party, the MSM was notorious for amplifying a single incident (that was usually a lie) and using it to attempt to smear and define an entire movement. This is what you do when you want to quickly take out a political enemy.

The MSM’s contextual game changes, however, when their desire is to strengthen a movement and give it credibility and room to grow. By dutifully reporting individual incidents but not reporting on the growing scope and size of Occupy Wall Street lawlessness, the MSM is willfully covering up the violence, vandalism, and anti-Semitism that truly does define this movement. Moreover, by intentionally keeping the pieces of this story scattered, the MSM is allowed to have their cake and eat it too. No one can accuse them of not reporting these incidents, but by choosing not to bring the pieces together, the MSM ensures the least amount of public relations damage is done to the Occupiers.

What I’ve collected below is far from comprehensive but still shows over 75 incidents of sexual assault, violence, vandalism, anti-Semitism, extortion, perversion, and lawlessness.

The MSM could easily tell the story of how this violence-prone movement is becoming an increasing threat to our society. After all, my research below is the result of nothing more than Twitter and Google. Among others, The New York Times, Washington Post, Politico, and the LA Times have willfully chosen not to use the resources at their disposal to give the public an honest look at this growing menace. In their partisan minds, truth doesn’t trump agenda.

A few notes on the list below. Whenever possible, I traced the incident back to the original news source. I was as careful as possible when it came to duplicate postings, though I would guess there are a few in here. There are also less than five examples that don’t involve what I would qualify as outright lawlessness but do help to expose the Occupiers for who and what they really are. Finally, and this is the most important way in which the list is imperfect, I most certainly wasn’t able to document everything. A perfect list would be much more alarming than the one I slapped together in just a few hours.

What is true is that on October 18, pollster Doug Schoen (a Democrat!) discovered that a full 31% of Occupiers were willing to commit violence in pursuit of their agenda, whatever that is. As a response to this startling and frightening admission, the MSM either outright ignored or dismissed it. What you’ll see below proves that at least when it comes to their willingness to break the law, the Occupiers are keeping their word.

The list is in no particular order. Like the Occupiers themselves, it’s unruly, disorganized, messy and not focused solely on the nation’s media centers. The movement is spreading across America and bringing with it their outrageous and appalling behavior.

On top of everything else, imagine the drain all this lawlessness has on law enforcement resources. My list doesn’t even include the collateral damage. Thanks to Occupy Wall Street’s drain on police personnel, shootings increased 154% in New York alone. What is it in Chicago, Seattle, Boston, Oakland, and Cleveland?

Just last week Vice President Joe Biden was all freaked out about the possibility of crime rates increasing if Congress didn’t pass Obama’s Son of Stimulus. Well, that premise was based on a lie, but the same White House trying to sell that bill of bull isn’t at all concerned with the very real increase in crime caused by the Occupiers they encourage.

Please keep the tips coming. Email me at jnolte@breitbart.com.

The Associated Press published a report this morning about the Occupy Oakland protests.

Way, way down at the bottom of article was this explosive detail about Occupy Atlanta:

Mayor Kasim Reed had been supportive of the protests, twice issuing an executive order allowing them to remain.

Reed said on Wednesday that he had no choice to arrest them because he believed things were headed in a direction that was no longer peaceful. He cited a man seen walking the park with an AK-47 assault rifle.

“There were some who wanted to continue along the peaceful lines, and some who thought that their path should be more radical,” Reed said. “As mayor, I couldn’t wait for them to finish that debate.”

Reed said authorities could not determine whether the rifle was loaded, and were unable to get additional information.

An Associated Press reporter talked to the man with the gun earlier Tuesday.

He wouldn’t give his name — identifying himself only as “Porch,” an out-of-work accountant who doesn’t agree with the protesters’ views — but said that he was there, armed, because he wanted to protect the rights of people to protest. (more…)

Narrative. Narrative. Narrative.

—–

The corrupt MSM will spend days spreading the lie that the N-word was hurled by a Tea Partier but when Obama’s Left-wing minions in the Occupy Wall Street movement commit violence, get arrested, and drain precious law enforcement resources, that rates 19 seconds of coverage:

The morning shows of ABC, CBS, and NBC on Tuesday devoted just 19 seconds to the arrests of 75 people in northern California, after police evicted Occupy Oakland from their encampment in front of city hall there.  The Early Show devoted a news brief to the story during its last half hour, noting the violent reaction from some of the protesters. Good Morning America and the Today show both punted.

[...]

David Morgan’s article on CBSNews.com about the confrontation specified that “Oakland police say they arrested 75 people while clearing an anti-Wall Street protest in front of City Hall that had grown into an encampment with dozens of tents.” Morgan later noted that “there were reports of a sex assault and a severe beating and fire and paramedics were denied access to the camp, according to city officials, who said they had also received numerous complaints of intimidating and threatening behavior.”

Early yesterday morning, we received a tip from a reader in the San Francisco East Bay area who informed us that a local reporter’s life had been threatened by an activist at the Occupy Oakland demonstration.

Our source, who is fearful of reprisal and has requested anonymity, says that KGO-TV’s Amy Hollyfield was accosted by a man who threatened her and used a racial slur:

“We shoot white bitches like you around here.”

According to our source, the Oakland Police Department was apparently called to the scene. Inquiries to the police, and to Hollyfield, which began at roughly 8 a.m. Pacific time yesterday, are still unanswered today.

Other local morning news reports from three of the major Bay Area stations suggested that the Occupy Oakland tent city had descended into rat-infested squalor with complaints of vandalism, public urination, sexual harassment, and sex in public.

The night before, local CBS affiliate KNTV had reported that one Occupy Oakland activist had set his dog on a reporter in a vicious attack that would have maimed his arm had the reporter not been wearing a suit jacket.

Yet even as these local stations reported how Occupy Oakland has collapsed into chaos, they failed to report that police were allegedly called to protect a reporter whose life was threatened in a racist and misogynistic way.

KGO is not playing up the alleged incident on its website, and its reporting on the Occupy Oakland chaos is leaving out these explosive details–that, if verified, would make Occupy Oakland the major national story it ought to be.

Here is Ms. Hollyfield’s report from this morning, in which she mentions threats to KGO’s cameras, but not the alleged threat to her life.

Hollyfield later confirmed, on Twitter, the threat to “break our camera,” but did not mention the alleged threat to her life.

In another report from the Occupy Oakland tent city early this morning, KTVU’s Claudine Wong was verbally abused and intimidated on live television, in a tense scene witnessed by viewers throughout the Bay Area.

The video below is pretty symbolic of what we’re seeing from the MSM as a whole, the very same MSM that reported on the absurdly peaceful tea party with seething hostility and contempt:

—–

Well, there may only be a couple hundred cities in the world, but the real pull-quote there is, “And of course they are calling for the 1% of richest Americans to find more ways to help the 99%.”

Oh, how sweet and noble and innocent they all are.

One now wonders if the same national MSM that obsessed over Tea Party signs brought in by obvious infiltrators to aid the MSM in their crusade to smear the whole movement will find this treasure-trove of frightening astro-turf newsworthy, or the violence that broke in New York City this morning AFTER Mayor Bloomberg caved about cleaning the park, or this:

I’m writing this column, hoping to avoid something tragic or horrible before it happens.

The media loves telling us how they are there to protect us from everything awful or dangerous. Okay, time to put up.

Conservatives are under attack from the left and you sit there on the sidelines.

I was in Chicago last year with Andrew Breitbart when an unruly crowd of leftists attacked him verbally and viscously. He stood strong. He had every right to be there, and it’s clear the instigators were from the left.

We’ve all seen the recent video of Breitbart in the lobby of the hotel at the gathering of leftist bloggers. Had I not already known the outcome of that encounter, it would’ve been easy to fear for his safety at that time as well. This was as close as you can get to a physical attack. Fortunately it was just verbal, but what is the next step after a verbal attack like that?

Now, the Glenn Beck situation. He takes his family to a play in New York and is accosted by a gang of leftists going after his wife and daughter. Beck travels with security—I’ve seen them and chatted with them. By all accounts, security could not have done much to help with this incident. Wine was kicked on Beck’s wife and an evening out with his family ruined. Leftists punks acted like paparazzi, taking pictures of Beck’s family and posting them on a left-wing web site.

My media friends, who are always so quick to point out conservative violence where there is none, are virtually ignoring this activity that is right at the edge of busting out into something much more serious.

The activist old media work overtime to bring cameras to tea party rallies hoping to spot violence, or the least bit of incivility, and lead the newscast with the result. They have been shut out. Now, we have documented evidence of conservatives under attack, and the media give us crickets.

Any time someone commits an act of violence that grabs headlines, journalists scramble desperately for a scapegoat, some person or social force to crusade against and extend the story’s expiration date (and thus ratings).  While it appears that Jared Lee Loughner’s motivation for shooting Gabrielle Giffords was nonpartisan (aka mental illness), there have already been reports from CBS, CNN, and the Associated Press attempting to pin Loughner’s motivations to Sarah Palin’s gun-target map, Giffords’ opponent Jesse Kelly using an M16 at a campaign event, and a general atmosphere of fear and animosity created solely by Republicans in Arizona.

As long as they’re bringing this subject up, I believe it’s a good time to discuss what the media could do if they really wanted to prevent future violence.  The answer is not to force conservative speakers to be “more careful” with their rhetoric.  In fact, I believe that the greater responsibility to prevent violence lies on the shoulders of journalists themselves; the media must stop suppressing conservative voices and increasing the ire of the nation.

This is not what makes us angry.

Only a literalistic idiot could find Palin’s “target” map something that would inspire violence, and only a partisan idiot could think that Loughner, a fan of flag-burning, would be a big enough Palin fan to have ever seen that map.  I find it extremely unlikely that someone can be inspired to violence through the words of a political leader unless it’s a direct order, which neither Palin nor Beck nor Rush have come anywhere close to saying.  The people who claim that these three use “coded language” to incite violence are as paranoid as Loughner; only crazy people see calls to violence in innocuous speech, such as John Lennon’s shooter claiming The Catcher in the Rye as his inspiration.

Indeed, when these conservative media personalities talk about removing politicians through the power of one’s vote, that is actually a deterrent to violence.  For Palin fans, her political speech gives them joy and hope, a cathartic reminder that someone out there is speaking for them.  Her defining political contribution has been giving hope to all the flyover country-dwellers deemed subhuman and unworthy by the elites in the media — hope that their votes mattered and that they could change things through their speech and political involvement. On March 23, 2010 at 6:41pm, Sarah Palin’s infamous “cross-hairs” map was posted to her facebook page. It instantly sparked controversy. On March 26, 2010, at a rally for Senator John McCain, Palin clarified her intentions with the map and defended herself and other conservatives against charges of inciting violence during the period of heightened debate surrounding the Democrats’ overhaul of the health care system:

TRANSCRIPT:

And ya know, hearing the news reports lately, kinda this ginned up controversy about us, common sense conservatives, inciting violence because we happen to oppose some of the things in the Obama administration.

Interrupted from audience: “We do it with our vote!”

Amen, brother! That’s what you do it with, with your vote! You got it right. We know violence isn’t the answer. When we take up our arms, we’re talking about our vote. We’re talking about being involved in a contested primary like this, and picking the right candidate too–John McCain, we thank you for that.

But this B.S. coming from the lamestream media lately about this, about us inciting violence. Don’t let the conversation be diverted. Don’t’ let a distraction like that get you off track. Keep fighting hard for these candidates who are all about the common sense conservative solutions that we need. (more…)

In the January edition of Vanity Fair magazine Christopher Hitchens becomes the latest in a seemingly endless parade of name callers and reputation-smudgers intent on spreading lies about Tea Partiers, Glenn Beck, and just about anyone else he doesn’t agree with politically.  I will not bother to address these shallow, baseless, and fact-free attacks on Beck and the Tea Parties.  They are quite capable of defending themselves.  My concerns are Hitchens’ inaccurate characterizations of the 9/12 Project.

The opening line of the piece contains a smear against the non-Beck affiliated 9/12 Project referring to the group as:

“the most hateful kind of populist claptrap,  (e.g. the fetid weirdness of GlennBeck’s 912 Project.)”

Really?  Fetid?

Mr. Hitchens did you even look into the 9/12 Project?  Have you any idea of what it stands for and what 9/12 members are doing? I seriously doubt that you did, as I am a founding member, part of the Advisory Board and the editor-at-large of the web site. All email inquiries come directly to me. Nothing was received from you, ever.  Checking with the other Board members, I can verify that none of them were contacted by you or by anyone with Vanity Fair.  Therefore, we can only assume that your statements about the 912 Project have not been vetted with any reasonable degree of journalistic standards.

In a stunning front-page editorial the principal Juarez, Mexico newspaper El Diario has called for a truce with the ultra violent Juarez and Sinaloa Mexican drug cartels in wake of the murder of an El Diario photographer and severe wounding of a colleague in Juarez on Thursday of last week.

Luis Carlos Santiago Orozco, 21, and co-worker Carlos Sanchez were ambushed in a gangland style “hit” in the parking lot of a busy market area on Thursday, September 16, Mexico’s Bicentennial celebration day.  Orozco had recently ascended from intern to full time employee of the newspaper and he and Sanchez were going to lunch at a market close to the newspaper’s offices. The second victim was hospitalized in serious condition.

In a front page editorial, El Diario clearly asks the cartels “¿Qué Quieren de Nosotros?” or “What Do Want From Us?”

The editorial plainly states what has been obvious to many outside observers — the government of Mexico and its law enforcement entities are losing the drug war to the Sinaloa and Juarez cartels. This is a translation of part of the editorial in Sunday‘s El Diario, in which it lays out its new position for reporting on the drug war; I’ve added some text missing from the Spanish version in parentheses to ease readability.

By now, everyone knows that Michael Savage has been banned from Britain on the grounds articulated by disgraced former Home Secretary Jacqui Smith: “Considered to be engaging in unacceptable behavior by seeking to provoke others to serious criminal acts and fostering hatred which might lead to inter-community violence.”

Attorney Summary–Savage Appeals U.K. Ban:

This week, we found out that the supposedly conservative government of David Cameron is upholding the ban.  Savage’s lawyers initiated a review of the ban by sending a letter to new Home Secretary Theresa May.  In it, they lay forth the full history of the case, a selective prosecution which is mind-blowing in its moral blindness and suicidal impulse to kowtow to radical Islam.

When Savage was originally banned, as the letter states, he was placed on a list alongside terrorists, racists, a child-murderer, and the alleged leader of a violent gang “that beat migrants and posted films of their attacks on the internet.”  Savage, by contrast, has said some inflammatory things on the radio.  And by inflammatory, I mean generally correct, even if the left hates his passion and willingness to articulate the zeitgeist. A Public Safety Alert from David Burge
Executive Director and Chief Research Officer

The Media Violence Project / Center for the Study of Politician Sociopathy
At the Media Violence Project, our charter is to protect public safety by researching, documenting and raising awareness about the ever-increasing wave of violent, disgusting crimes perpetrated by members of the American news media. It is a largely thankless task — often requiring a cast iron stomach — but if our work has prevented one more American child from falling victim to a criminally insane anchorman or newspaper reporter, it will all have been worth it.

Every day at the MVP we receive emails from concerned citizens, such as this:

Dear Mr. Burge:

I have read with increasing alarm new reports of violence erupting around our country. For example, the recent rampaging campus murderer in Huntsville, Alabama; the Austin, Texas man who flew his plane into an office building; and the unhinged shooter at the Pentagon. Do you suspect these people may have been journalists? Also, what can I do to prevent my family from falling victim to these violent journalists?

Please do not print my name, as I live near a journalist and am concerned about my safety.

Name Withheld By Request

Dear “Name Withheld By Request,” let me first say these are excellent questions. Second, let me also say that I do not withhold names by request. Your name is Michael R. Bartolo, and you live at 2311 Briarcliff Court, Brown Deer, WI. (more…)

In my column this week for the Irish Examiner USA, I wrote, “When it comes to Hate Speech and Violence, Liberals Rule.”

For some strange reason liberals are identifying all contrary opinions as hateful regardless of the words actually used. I’m always surprised when I hear from my Democrat sister in California that she thinks I should tone down the anger in my columns. I’ve reread my pieces and see only the explanations of my viewpoint. I do not name-call or use derogatory language yet she reacts as if I do. Is it possible to erroneously read emotions that simply aren’t there if the reader is expecting them to be?

Risen-Baader

I found this same phenomenon when I received an e-mail from a New York literary agent commenting that he found my book proposal “a manifesto of innuendo, belief and hate for those you do not agree with.” He then added, “There is the Rush way and then there is the George Will way.”

After searching in vain for evidence of hate speech in my book proposal, I came to realize that the agent was projecting his own disdain for the “right wing” and assuming that I was therefore a Rush Limbaugh devotee.

With all the tales in the Old Media of the supposed violence committed by Tea Partiers going on since Obama’s takeover of our nation’s healthcare system, I thought it might be instructive to recall how hate-filled the unhinged left is in America today.

Bush_hatred

A year ago, the good folks at Zomblog assembled a great series of photos showing the mental derangement exhibited by the human detritus at those once ubiquitous anti-war rallies that the distempered left hosted so often between the years 2003 and 2009… you know, those anti-war rallies that totally disappeared after Obama took office even as the wars rage on? Yeah, those anti-war rallies.

Why was no one ever arrested for threatening President Bush at protests, when they displayed signs in public that called for his death? (more…)

There have been accusations of violence flying everywhere since the dreadful healthcare bill was passed on Sunday night. It’s certainly true tensions are running high, just like they have been for an entire year. And for good reason. Many of our freedoms as Americans were stripped away when healthcare passed. But are the threats of violence just a charade to distract Americans from learning about what the massive healthcare bill really does? I think so.

Could you imagine what would happen if someone set fire to, say, Nancy Pelosi’s church? (Does she even go to church?)

Or what if a Congressman who supported healthcare reform was beaten up so badly that he had to have stitches on his eye? How about if a Congressman’s car window was shot out because he opposed healthcare reform?

The same media so excited to rush to protect the “defenseless” Congressmen barely mentioned that someone set Sarah Palin’s church on fire or that private citizens in California were personally harassed and targeted for simply suggesting that there should be a ballot initiative on marriage, or for donating to it. Now that the MSM has done its best to ignore the Amy Bishop Obama obsession and is going all out to pin the right-wing-nut-job tail on Joseph Stack, it would seem that leftist-radical myopia is once again controlling the establishment media narrative.

It is, after all, difficult to see clearly when your legs are tingling and your passions are in willing-thrall mode.

obama-girl

So, here’s the pertinent question, the question our drowning Obama groupies in the MSM do not dare to ask:  Is disillusionment with Obama causing people to snap and commit acts of violence?

It’s a good question, born of common sense.

If there was a single characteristic that defined the Obama campaign followers in 2008, it was an adolescent fawning the likes this country has never seen.  There were the creepy fainting women in teenybopper crush mode wherever Obama went.  There were the so-called intelligentsia speaking of a man who, to them, seemed more like a god, a savior, an uber-competent of downright immortal stature, purely obsequious observations based on Obama’s postage-stamp-sized resume, his fondness for arugula and GQ looks.
