I was alerted to this article by a friend. I appreciate the attention to my report, but I'm surprised at the anger it generated. You're certainly correct that Muslim terrorism is on a completely different moral level than Christian curriculum in schools. The story's title (which I didn't write) and its opening sentences do seem to make that equivalence, and that certainly wasn't intentional. The story meant to call attention to Rep Myrick's double standard: She openly criticizes all manner of mainstream Islamic organizations, but supports the NCBCPS, which is, by most accounts, a group on the fringes of Christianity that promotes something two courts have found to be unconstitutional.

I'm certainly not a hater of Christianity – I'm at church every Sunday. I'm also not a left-wing academic snob. If you take the time to read some of my other stories, you'll see that. I'd recommend this one, for starters:

Please explain to me where it says "separation of church and state" in the constitution? The first two phrases in the First Amendment are "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, OR PROHIBITING THE FREE EXERCISE THEREOF;" (caps are mine).

Not a lot of suicide bombers screaming "Praise Jesus" before they blow up a train station. I think we need to focus on Shaolin Monks. They're really frightening with their shaved heads and all that sneaky kung fu stuff.
