Ron Brynaert has a story over at his The Raw Story blog that reveals yet another denizen of the Old Media trying to be both a “journalist” and an operative of Barack Obama’s administration. She is Patricia McGinnis, an unpaid advisor at the White House and also one of the contributors to the Post’s “On Leadership” blog.
Once again we see the Old Media working hand-in-hand with the Obama administration and putting the lie to the idea of the “independent journalist” in traditional media outlets, this time with the Washington Post. Even worse than this collusion, though, is the fact that the Post somehow forgot to inform its readers of this little detail.
Is anybody surprised? From the “Cry Wolf” scandal, in which Big Journalism exposed an incipient pay-for-play “independent scholarship” racket that was designed to combat conservative ideas under the false flag of “academic research,” to the constant revolving door of “journalists” leaving their publications or networks for their first love, Democrat politics, to the existence of Ezra Klein’s “JournoList,” an email daisy chain of 400 leftist journalists, operating in secret to share policy ideas and hone talking points without letting either their readers or, in many cases, their employers know of their collusion, it’s clear that the leftist drones in academe and the media no longer feel the need even to pretend to be objective reporters of the political scene. They are operatives, plain and simple.

Think of them as an army of Walter Durantys, the Soviet fellow-traveler operating as a correspondent for the New York Times who won a Pulitzer Prize for whitewashing Stalin’s crimes for western public opinion.
Brynaert looked over the 2010 West Wing payroll and found that McGinnis was an unpaid advisor on leadership programs for presidential appointees. She is also noted as an unpaid advisor on the 2009 White House payroll records.
While the position is unpaid, her work for Obama certainly would seem to be a pertinent fact that readers might want to know in order to assess the veracity of her work in the pages of the newspaper. Mysteriously, though, her work with Obama is not mentioned in her official bio on the Washington Post’s website. Her short bio mentions her position at Georgetown University but does not mention her work for the White House.
Former President and CEO of The Council for Excellence in Government, Patricia McGinnis teaches leadership and management at Georgetown University’s Public Policy Institute.
This doesn’t seem to be a lone incident for the Post, which has had several problems with its ethics over the last few years. Back in July of 2009, for instance, the Post got in a flap over publisher Katherine Weymouth’s plans to sell lobbyists, Obama officials, and activists special access to the Post’s writers. Just last month the Post’s supposed conservative blogger, Dave Weigel, had to quit when it was revealed his personal politics were extremely leftist, although he had presented himself as a conservative to both the readers and the editorial board of the paper.
As for McGinnis, she has written fawningly of Obama, his administration, and policies. In January, for instance, McGinnis said that she gave Obama “high marks” for his policy choices. In April of 2009 she approvingly noted, “President Obama reached out beyond the official meetings with world leaders to build trust and good will…” And in March she wrote that Obama had a, “more collaborative, nuanced leadership style than his democratic opponent Hillary Clinton or his predecessor, George W. Bush.”

Yet, with all this fawning over The One, the Washington Post somehow didn’t think that readers needed to know that writer McGinnis is an Obama operative. It is curious that the Post didn’t imagine that readers might need to know that they are reading the words of a White House advisor when they are seeing such adulation for President Obama.
Until today that is — after the Raw Story broke the news of the latest double-agent lurking at the Post, the company issued this statement:
‘On Leadership’ panelists are not employees of The Post, nor are they paid by The Post. They are leadership experts from government, military, corporate and educational fields. Patricia’s bio was last updated before she took on the advisory role to the White House, but it was an oversight on our part not to have updated it. We will be updating it today.
In addition, we will be reaching out to all of our panelists to request they update their bios and disclose any potential conflicts.
So, once again, we see a denizen of the Old Media working as an Obama flack in both the governmental sphere and media. Yet the MSM continues to insist, ever more laughably, that we take them as honest, independent observers of our political system.
Right.

The lies run thick and rich. What is it with the misspoke (Liar) crowd.
Warner these guys won't be happy until Chairman O is the only "news" anchor on TV and the only "journolist" in print.
They want state run media but they keep refusing to move to the countries they love like Venezuela, Cuba, North Korea, China or Iran to get it.
These Obama bootlicks can cheerlead for his incompetence all day long but don't claim to be independent while doing so. Liars
This is a perfect example of how the news fabricators, spinners, and double dealing bottom fishers,
that is the TV Media, print, leftist blogs, and most newspapers ignore this big story, so the ONLY place
you will hear about it is on the BIG blogs…."It's what they don't tell you" type of non reporting, not in the playbook, we ignore it…
This kind of collusion is the equivalent of a "price fixing" scandal in the private sector, which seems inconsequential by comparison
If this same thing had been done by Republicans there would be no end to the caterwauling shrieks about how this is the end of our democracy…
[...] This post was mentioned on Twitter by Vince Humphreys, don cantrell and others. don cantrell said: WaPo Reveals One Of Its Bloggers Is Also an Obama White House Operative. Is Anybody Surprised? http://is.gd/ddbzU [...]
The Wa-Po is filled with leftists ? Whoda thunkit. They issued a statement. Whoopdee-f'n-do. In other words " We got caught, but pay no attention. Go back to sleep."
I'm glad the operatives are being exposed, however my incredulity over these things has long lost it's elasticity to snap back after yet another revelation.
The only surprise that I have is that anybody could be surprised…..
Republic. End of our Republic. I know I'm nitpickin' but we gotta fight fire with fire. Democracies are an extremely flawed system of government, and we need to make the word 'democrat' synonymous with 'dishonest', 'evil' , 'thuggish', etc.
Alpha
I know, that that why I put "there would be no end to the caterwauling shrieks about how this is the end of our democracy…" They could not tell you the difference between a Republic and a Democracy…
Democrats think it's a democracy, therefore those who would be doing the screaming, would be Dims…
The dimmist of the Dims…
You've probably seen this but if you have not, it's terrific…

Amazing proof that the 4th Estate IS DEAD, may it R.I.P, naah………..I'm a burn in HELL sort of gal.
Time for US to demand some of these usurpers lose their White House press credentials, no?
NUFF SAID !!!!

Good video. I knew that you knew, but I've been on a rant lately about how the left is manipulating the language in order to twist the law to suit whatever whim they happen to have that day. This whole "the Constitution is a living document" idea has to be killed and buried. Before we take the Country (Republic) back we have to take the law (Constitution) back, and before we do that, we have to take the language back. No more "depends on what the definition of 'is' is ."
Good work uncovering more of the hypocrisy. Gee, what have I accomplished lately?
The only people who take the relic media seriously today are other members of the relic media.
We have become accustomed to the bias and (lack of) critical thinking skills that many of today's "journalists" use to misinform. We read every article with an eye for bias and have become proficient at recognizing which agenda the journo advocates.
Stories like this, though, not only reveal the cancer that destroys journalism. Stories like this not only confirm that the main stream media is corrupt. Stories like this cause more and more of us to consider accolades like "Former President and CEO of The Council for Excellence in Government" to be nothing more than code for "insider" and "elitist" and, frankly, no more worthy of respect than accolades like "repeat offender" and "long criminal history".
Nothing surprises me anymore. Asolutely NOTHING. We have to counteract the LSM in our own ways. If we all spent $50 bucks printing out some the Breitbart talking points and distributing them or posting them on billboards at Safeway and Krogers, we might influence 5 voters.
We NEED to be proactive to win this war on hypocrisy and lies the progressives are shoving down people's throats.
Look at the rating between the cable news. MSNBC and CNN should just close shop. I really feel bad for a lot of old folks and some poor folks who can't afford cable and the internet, and get their news from the alphabet stations. It is very sad. I got some older relatives that just love Obama they believe everything they see on these stations,
Meanwhile, the lame stream media black out of the devastation in the Gulf continues … We're dying down here, about 20% of the Gulf of Mexico is covered in oil … Something that decanting oil skimmer ships could have prevented.
You know this gladens my heart. I mean it's easy to get all bent around the axels about the exposure of the progressive left being entrenched in the media deeper than 20 year-old tick on a hound dogs butt. The fact is we've always known it, but now we're actually getting the hard in-your-face-proof that can't be denied. The frequency of the progressive elites sticking their feet squarely in their mouths and being exposed as the scumbags they really are is happening at a greater rate today than ever before. I would like to think it's due to sites like this and people like us that have finally started to pay attention to what's going around us and have made the commitment to get informed. Way to go! And Breitbart, Warner – keep up the great work – thank you.
Excellent work. Head explosions can be heard at Media Matters.
The rich irony is that anyone who previously claimed this degree of collusion and corruption was labeled as a lunatic or racist or whatever Alinksy tag was used at the time. No more. These bastards are nailed, and it isn't to a cross. Good riddance and congratulations to Andrew. Even as cynical as I am the degree of cooperation between the left-wing media and political establishments has astonished me.
Incidentally, the Journolist materials will emerge. These greedy criminals are simply waiting until the price gets high enough, but some disgruntled and burned "journalist" like Wiegel may beat them to the punch due to a different motive.
Exactly. These exposures are the Holy Grail we always knew was there.
The once-4th estate is now the 5th column. One of the enemies within.
There are some things even career criminals won't do. There is no honor among thieves here.
Everyone go to http://www.cnn.com and vote in their " Quick Vote". It's mid way right after editor's choice segment. They have a poll asking, "Which party bears more responsibitity for current econmic problems in the United States". Of course the few people that watch CNN (Cult News Now) are claiming it's the Republicans. Make your vote count.

Bah – big news. Anyone surprized that this WH is in cahoots with the media? And no one remembers that Obama himself confirmed that Huffington Post is a WH policies conduit?
Of course all that poll proves is how many people of which party frequent the CNN site Still, I went and put in my vote.
Nobody on this side is surprised. Nobody on the other side has a clue that anything has been exposed. If word does leak out, there will be the usualy coverup.
yup
Washington Post: One foot in grave – other foot on banana peel. Let's hope they fold soon.
We,, all know that B-HO is a -Kookaburra- , But , how can 40% still havent opened their Eyes , Yet ??
Sleep with progressive dogs and wake up with fleas. The useful idiots will learn a lesson in November.
Hey di_da_is_alpha, I'm just preemptively wishing you a happily 4th of July, as I'll likely be too busy stuffing my face with crab and tri tip to surf the blog!
Have an awesome day, and God Bless the USA.
Thanx, Ewald, and you have a good 4th of July too. Eat a couple of crab legs for me, will ya ?
And I see you found a quiet thread. Good, that syntax guy is real whack job. I think he's been snortin' hot rails off of his aluminum foil hat (brain damage, you know).
stinking, rotten, lousy, no-good sons-a-bitches. it's all a lie. It's all just entertainment, while they rob us blind. Every perp found out must rot in some dungeon and not be allowed to enjoy his/her ill-gotten evil gains. Their wives, too. (or husbands) don't think they are innocent bystanders. Their kids, too, don't let them run for office with all that money. fight them like Genghiz Khan.
I've been to most to the Washington DC Tea Parties and have heard the "N" word a lot, and am using it more now than I used to:
NO ObamaCare
NO stimulus bill
NO higher taxes
NO higher deficit
NO bailing out the banks
NO bailing out the auto industry
NO pork barrel spending
NO salary increases for politicians
NO cap and trade
NO UN treaties

As you note the CNN readers, all 23,000 of them, have voted that it's the Republicans' fault. A few thousand more of us voting might let them see they're not such a majority. Of course, we're giving them web traffic they don't deserve…
Inside your heart, your head, your gut, you know when something is wrong. You know when something said about or to America is off center…not true. Trust your internal compass and vote in November. Ask 3 people you know if they are registered to vote and if they have a ride to the polls. Ask your candidates if they know who they work for if elected. This is the greatest and most loving nation on earth…defend her with your voice and your vote.
You know, the slimestink media is a bigger enemy than Bin Laden, Alqueda and Putin and the Chicoms combined. Al Queda doesnt hide there intent. Putin is too arrogant to hide his. The Chicoms think the world revolves around Red China(the taiwanese have the dumbass commies pulverized). On the other hand, I have to gag every time someone like Tom Brokejaw or Brian (no brain) Williams tries to potray themselves as "journalists". No journalist would ever had let Kieth the Uberdork or Chrissie Mattspews ever take over the 2008 convention, but Williams let that happen. As Ive said before, todays slimestink media has more in common with Pravda ,Tass , or Izvestia than with Steven Guettenberg. They are propaganda artists along the same lines as Al Jazeera or Joseph Goebbels.
The 40% who are govt employees or welfare queens. That includes teachers unions, the SEIU, the UAW, and the billionaires like Soros and Buffett who want government policy to eliminate there competition.
Hey Tarpon-is the Coast Guard still telling the skimmers they have to go offline for 24 hours because they dont have enough lifeboats? My uncle is down at Biloxi now trying to help-his company in Maine offered lots of Boom to help and the Feds blew them off. The illegal commie moslem WANTS this to continue. Remember this in November. After we win back Congress, arrest Obama and his commie miniopns and charge them with TREASON.
I'm not only not surprised, I'd long assumed that most pseudo-journos at the bigger dinosaur paps were Obama drones, officially or otherwise. Even my local paper is a liberal rag infamous for omission, who's op-ed page is littered with the most ridiculous specious arguments and DNC talking points – some of which aren't even current. While my State plummets toward default, the job market becomes more abysmal with each passing day. Yet, there's been a visible decline over the last 50 years that seems unstoppable. My city hasn't elected a Republican Mayor since 1965. Yet, we still have hordes of zombie journalists toeing 99% of the liberal line, helped by a deluded citizenry writing histrionic letters to the editor about the impending doom of global warming and widespread racism. Three miles from my home there was a terror cell uncovered, and there have been two honor killings in as many years – but the paps still insist on promoting the usual politically correct rationalizations for these very real threats. The only consultation in my area is an enthusiastic and rather substantial chapter of the Tea Party.
Im curious copper-why hasnt anyone taken Breitbart up on his offer for the list of anti-american "journalists" that Klien outed Weigel on?
I think that would be an impossible task because the listserv was email generated. Unless, there was an original journolist person that archived all people and messages. Then the person would have to submit his email account for scrutiny.
