Continuing with our top ten most left-biased journalists working in America today, at number six we feature the redoubtable… or is it just doubtable… Rick Sanchez of CNN. Let’s face it, no list of Old Media left-wingers could be complete without the Ricker appearing on it somewhere!
Any casual observer would conclude that Sanchez has been a thorough wallower in left-wing bias for decades, even pushing his agenda on college kids.

Back in 2008 during the campaign for the election that gave us President Obama, Sanchez took his CNN cameras on the road to see how “America Votes, 2008.” Apparently, Sanchez thought “America” only cared about the left because that was all he was interested in pushing.
On April 21, Sanchez aired his appearance at Penn State University but in the days before that episode of “America Votes” some of the students that participated in the taping of the segment complained that Sanchez was pushing a left-wing narrative the whole time and acted the bully against the conservative kids.
During the bull session styled taping, Sanchez belittled the conservative-minded students and lobbed softballs at the Democrats. Sanchez attempted to twist everything that the conservative students said, was argumentative only toward the right leaning kids, and was obviously trying to goad them.
As one of the students told me at that time, “He continually gave the Democrats softball questions, while asking the Republicans the most biased and leading questions. It would be akin to him asking the Democrat, ‘So, you like change?’ while asking the Republicans, ‘So, you like to kill babies in Iraq?’”
Sanchez was so blatant about pushing his lefty agenda on the kids that witnesses said the CNN camera crew felt the need to apologize for it all.
So much for what “America” was thinking. These kids went smack up against only what Sanchez was thinking and that was all he intended to put on the air.
And Sanchez isn’t only about being overbearing to college kids. Who can forget the day that Rick Sanchez decided that he spoke for all Hispanics everywhere?
In July of 2009 Rick took his brilliant philosophy to Twitter and decided in his infinite wisdom that any “Hispanic” that works for Fox News is a “sellout.” Apparently Sanchez imagines that any person of Latin heritage that works for any network other than CNN is an Uncle Tomás. Ah, the mellifluous tones of the “race traitor” meme. The left loves that sort of oppressive, anti-free thought narrative, don’t they?
And as they say on infomercials, but wait, there’s more. The Ricker is also a charter member of the Old Media’s Obama Butt Covering Team. Just last month during a discussion of the BP Oil Spill, Sanchez used his CNN platform to grind home the narrative that the Republicans are the party of political contributions from Big Oil while conveniently leaving unsaid similar donations to Democrats, Obama in particular.
Mentioning Alaska’s GOP Senator Lisa Murkowski, Sanchez quickly linked her and her party to money Big Oil.
Murkowski, by the way, is one of several Republicans who want to keep the cap on what oil companies pay for spills at $75 million. Imagine that for a moment- they would only pay $75 million, if they chose to, after all the damage that’s been done in the Gulf of Mexico, which is, ironically enough, about how much they spend on campaign contributions to politicians each year.
Naturally, Sanchez spoke nothing of President Obama’s $71,000 BP-related political campaign donation . In fact, Obama is one of the nation’s top recipients of Big Oil money. I guess the Ricker just forgot that. It was an honest mistake, right?
Still, despite that and other Obama butt covering efforts, the Ricker didn’t get any slack from The One at this year’s White House Correspondent’s Dinner event as one of Obama’s jokes featured a slam on Rick Sanchez himself.
As it happens, Sanchez revealed his expert knowledge of world geography by saying on the air that it was far too cold in Iceland for it to have volcanoes.
Obama thought that was just funny enough that, after he actually played the video clip for the audience, he thought to scoff at CNN’s claim to be the “most trusted name in news.”
Ouch. Poor Ricker. No respect, even from The One.
No wonder he is so upset at his fellow Americans. Everyone is just so mean to him. But he got even with half the American electorate, at least. He said they were just like the Taliban. In March of 2010, the Ricker once again took to Twitter to attack Americans saying, “are our fundamentalist zealots different than the ones we fight in afghan and iraq”…With that Tweet we can see that Rick Sanchez is no “fundamentalist” on grammar, anyway. I guess anyone that leans conservative is just like the Taliban as far as Rick Sanchez is concerned.
Oh, and a little advice. You might want to stay off the road when the Ricker is behind the wheel, too. Just trying to help.
In any case, if you want bias, the Ricker is your man. In fact, a Google search of “Rick Sanchez bias” will give you some 59,000 hits. Not too shabby for a “news” guy, eh?
Please check back tomorrow for left-biased journalist number five, where we pass the half way point in our series.

I had happily never heard of this guy till I reas this today. If your narrative is correct and I have no reason to doubt it then who was his other listener on the day he discussed this subject? By the way has anyone checked to see if he is here legally?
I'm sure they checked his immigration status when he was arrested for hit and run homicide. http://rds.yahoo.com/_ylt=A0oGdG7mrEFMC0UApZ9XNyo...
Rick Sanchez? I thought his name was Unctuous, Son of Chingachgook ..
Really, does anybody still actually WATCH CNN?
The poster child of liberal journalism. He's vain and intoxicated by his sense of importance, but with little reason. His intelligence is far below his own view of it. His personal history makes his hypocrisy is obvious. His gaffes are the only newsworthy things he says. And Daffy Duck beats him in ratings. Just the right ingredients for a spot on CNN.
Jack. You have to check this clown out at least once. If I want a laugh, ol Rick will provide it.
Rick Sanchez should receive an award for excellence in Journalism.
A burnished, polished turd.
He is nothing but a P.O.S.
As a matter of fact, some entrepenuer ought to start manufacturing them, and handing them out. Breitbart could start his own "Turd Awards". Roll them all out on the red carpet…………..
Rick Sanchez is an idiot. He's Steve Carell in Anchorman, only completely real.
I can't find the YouTube clip any more, but there was a clip of Sanchez reading his teleprompter verbatim, including the direction to "ad lib a teaser" for the next segment.
Larry Kings wife still watches it.
She wants to make sure he is on the set, so she can slip off for batting practice.
Here is a question I posed 4 months ago in the comments of a story, coincidentally enough, about Li'l Rikki claiming "technical difficulties" for the lack of any Republican response to his celebratory piece on the passing of ObamaCare (after promising that he would give them equal time). http://bigjournalism.com/rgrenell/2010/03/26/in-w...
I have heard that Sanchez was fired from an early anchor job in Miami for involvement in some kind of favor-trading deal, with the chief protagonist sent to prison. I of course knew about the DUI killing, but this was news to me. If true, I think CNN has much to answer for.
Can't find much on this, but now I'm curious – anyone know more?
And so I ask again – Does anyone have any more info on the favor-trading deal? This would be during the mid-eighties, when he was a young anchor in Miami. I can only find hints in my googling – but if anyone has access to LexisNexis, this story should be easy enough to find.
TIA.
Rick Sanchez?
More like Ted Baxter .http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yqYMSkejABc
Rick's happy there's a Contessa Brewer in the mix,
so he can't be considered the dumbest stump in the NEWS business..
I have a feeling she's coming up soon on the list..
stupid is not bias. this guy is an idiot!
Little Ricky still has a job? Wow, times must be really rough at CNN if they can't afford to fire him and get another warm body to take his place.
Actually, CNN probably thinks that the bilge that comes out of his mouth passes for being "controversial," instead of just plain lame. I think we should start taking bets to see if CNN will still be in business in two years.
I haven't been following this series, but as a former CNN watcher I took one look at the title and nearly burst out laughing. All I can say it that this barely scratches the surface of Mr. Galapagos/Hawaii-what'sthedifference.
Was it Rick Sanchez who, while his co-anchor was interviewing an author on the Helsinki Accords, chimed in,
" That's Helsinki, Sweden", much to the shock of those on the set.?
Glowing examples of buffoonery don't come more neatly wrapped and packaged the this CNN buffoon.
Everytime I see this walking-talking leftist drivel Rick Sanchez on CNN, I tell my friends, "Look, it's Dirty Sanchez live on CNN!"
Rick is almost just funny…I can't watch the regular Pravda channels but Rick is almost Rev Wright or Fr. Phleger funny. He should be a news guy on a mexican soap opera ….
I don't think of Rick Sanchez as a journalist. I also don't consider CNN as a "news organization".
Perhaps you should write an article or two exploring CNN President Jon Klein, who he is, his support of Obama, and his manipulation of his news organization to support Obama.
Hey this empty suit doesn't care what people say about him As long as he makes millions.Typical White "Latino" hypocrite drunk driving felony coward.
Sorry, but according to Rush, Bill O'Reilly is the new Ted Baxter. I agree with Rush. This guy is just a big Zero.
Just another simple-minded leftwing pretty boy with a get-out-of-jail-free card.
This guy is a moron on the level of Ed Schultz. Rick Sanchez is one of the dumbest people in the news media and that is saying something. The gaffes that Little Ricky makes are hillarous. Rick Sanchez has no knowledge of anything except how to read a teleprompter. Rick Sanchez is beyond moronic check out this Gem on the Iceland Volcano. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=laptaCg0BHA
The Communist News Network is full of moronic left-wingers masquerading as So Called Journalists. Wolf Blitzer is probably even more frequently biased. CNN tries to sell itself as objective or straight news and that is crazy. MSNBC no longer makes such claims and really couldn't with their lineup of Democrat party shills and Liberal Radio Hosts. I know what I get this MSNBC, Biased propoganda around the clock. CNN still calling itself a news organization is sad. Fox has Sheppard Smith hopefully he makes the Top 5.
When people commit a horrible crime and get away with it…they become Rick Sanchez.
That's why people who commit horrible crimes should go to jail or be punished, because after the punishment they come out better people…and not Rick Sanchez.
I am just amazed that even CNN allows this guy the freedom to do what he does. I know they are CNN and a joke, but really.
It is no coincidence that most of the names on this list work for CNN. And they wonder why no one watches any more.
We were all sitting in the doctor's waiting room when Sanchez came on CNN. After about 10 minutes one of the other guys stood up and asked us all, "Does anyone REALLY wanna watch this a*hole?"
The decision was unanimous and the receptionist was asked to change the channel.
Other than that, I am rather proud of the fact that I've never watched him more than that 10-minute display of nauseating conceit and smarmy "wit." (If anyone could call it that…)
Shame! Ted Baxter was intentionally funny by the great Ted Knight. Rick Sanchez is just a poor joke.
And 20 years from now, people will still watch and be entertained by Ted Baxter. God willing, Rick Sanchez will be nothing more than a foot note.
I expect the gruesome fivesome of MSNBC to hold the 'top' positions of the bottom of the journalists rung.
Jack, one of my work colleagues "swears" up and down that Sanchez is the most unbiased and smartest reporter at CNN… I pointed out the Volcanoes/Iceland comment.. and his response was "so?"
I asked him about the Hit and Run sanchez was involved in.. he was dumbfounded as to respond, and even made the "it was just an accident" comment.
Yes, there is no getting through to him in terms of anything political… The moment you catch him with an "uhh, i can't answer that" moment… he changes the subject so quick that even Mr. Sanchez would be impressed.
I lived in Miami most of my life, I don't remember Sanchez being fired, I remember after the drunk driving incident he took a few days or weeks off but came back. Regarding the trading deal, I vaguely remember something hearing about it but the mid-eighties I was in grade school so back then I'd of not understood what it was about but it sounds familiar. I don't remember exactly when Sanchez left to CNN but Sanchez for years worked WSVN in Miami which inintially was an NBC affiliate, it was later taken over by FOX when they started as the 4th network. Towards the end a then young reporter joined WSVN named Shepherd Smith, about a year or so later after Shep went to Miami the Fox News Channel debuted and Smith soon was picked up…my sister used to work for WSVN btw and from what I was told Sanchez had also interviewed with FOX but they took Shep, there is a jealously issue with Sanchez, the right, and Fox News since his going to CNN. Sanchez is a Cuban-American which is rare for one to be a leftist as most the Cuban-Americans like myself are right-wing conservatives, most the Cubans detest him as a pompous smart ass.
Cowboy; we have previously purchased toilet seats from the Home Centers, cut them in half, spray painted them gold and put them on a simple mount with a plaque and awarded them for " THE MOST HALF ASSED (for Sanchez) JOURNALIST IN AMERICA."
Maybe he's thier TOKEN Latino….
I don't know how a couple of them could, they don't have any journalist background other than party affiliation…I guess that's enough for CNN.
Cnn Rick Sanchez Dui Death Like Hit and Run:
Accoriding to Wikipeida.org, On December 10, 1990, Sanchez struck a pedestrian, Jeffrey Smuzinick, with his car on a residential street near Dolphin Stadium after Smuzinick darted into the road. Smuzinick was paralyzed and eventually died in an assisted living facility in 1995anchez, who had just left an NFL football game with his father (and left the scene of the accident), was not charged with causing the accident, but was charged with and pleaded no contest to DUI. Sanchez, whom a Metro-Dade police officer said “smelled strongly of alcohol,” first stopped his car but then later left the scene. A blood test to determine Sanchez’s sobriety was not administered until an hour and fifteen minutes after the collision. Sanchez at first said he had consumed no alcohol the night of the accident. His attorney, Richard Essen, later said Rick returned home and had “a couple of drinks to calm his nerves” before returning to the scene.Though Sanchez says he tried to aid Smuzinick at the scene of the accident and flag down motorists, eyewitnesses claim the anchorman ignored the injured man and loudly told police and bystanders that blood tests were pointless, and would hurt his public image.
Yeah – it struck me as strange, too. All the more reason to assume the little asshole just sold out to the left in order to get the CNN gig. They deserve each other, as far as I'm concerned. A match made in heaven, as a matter of fact.
As far as the favor trading thing, I'm thinking of breaking down and subscribing to LexisNexis, just to find out the details of the case. Because the only "favor" I can think of that a 24 or 25 year old news anchor would have to trade, would be favorable coverage (or no coverage) of the guy's case. Very weird that there's so little info available – the guy was a celebrity, and he got fired for this, for God's sake.
Ah…the Filthy Sanchez. It's not just a sex act; it's a news reporter!
Sadly, I didn't notice his stupidity or his bias until I turned conservative around health care passing. How could I have listened to that idiot?
Wait Rick Sanchez is a journalist? I can wait to see where Frank Rich, Krugman, Dowd, Kathleen Parker (oh wait, she's not liberal), and David Brooks (not liberal either) rank. People like Olbermann, Shultz, Matthews and Maddow are commentators/activitists and not journalists. But gosh, there's Richard Wolffe, Mark Halperin, John Heilemann, Peter Beinart, Tina Brown, Gail Collins, Eugene Robinson, Dan Rather, Cynthia Tucker, Eleanor Clift, EJ Dionne, Dana Milbank, Leonard Pitts, David Gregory, George Stephanopoulos, Matt Lauer, Andrea Mitchell, Diane Sawyer, Katie Couric, Walter Cronkite, and everyone at your local newspaper that could be on this list. It's going to be hard, but I am curious who Number 1 is (my pick is Frank Rich, with Peter Pan, I mean George Stephanopoulos as second and maybe Andrea Mitchell as third).
Sanchez is another mindless foot soilder for the Obama Regime..
He was running down the competition… Besides Plugs Biden seems to be racking up the score on running down pedestians since getting elected.
Mark bet that guy you work with does not get invited to dinner a lot.
Mr. Martinez
I have worked all over the country serving FFJ warrants and would work in the Miami area very often and your comment is right. The Cuban people are very conservative and unlike some other ethnic comunities they help you because they do not want the thugs or trouble makers in there neighborhoods. I would also add I have never been treated better any place I have ever worked or visited. I still have friends there.
Welcome to the real world
This guy is hilarious! Sadly I am sure some people believe his stupid outlook but that explains CNN. I always get a laugh out of his show but I inevitably have to wash the TV.
